Summer Fun Days

Day 2: Matchbox car racing

We headed over to Lowe's and bought a plastic rain gutter for $5. Then we had races with our matchbox cars. The kids enjoyed propping it up on different surfaces and experimenting with different racing materials. We tried cars, cups, pencils, toys, balls, water, and all the contents of a dollhouse. I would not recommend the water (Mommy walked out of the room for a few seconds).
Summer fun days

This summer had a recipe for disaster. Hot climate...pregnant, tired mommy.....bored kids. Thus I have decided do something special and purposeful with my kids everyday. The rules are that it must be fun and something that we have never done before.

DAY 1: Sidewalk painting with water.

That's right it is just as easy as it sounds. Get out some buckets and old foam paintbrushes and let your kids go crazy. It reminded me of those zen Budda Board things where you are supposed to write down all your problems then watch them magically evaporate. The kids really liked flicking the paintbrush and making pokadots. Another added bonus is that this method is great for pictionary. You can write really big so everyone can see it and it magically evaporates in time for the next player.
