Our New Home

We decided to buy another house after selling our previous one. We found a good deal on a house in Chubbuck. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, laundry, 2 car garage, and a large fenced backyard. The home is very liveable but there are also some improvements that can still be done to it. We like being able to do little projects here and there that will make it our own and will improve the property.

We are still trying to get everything put away! Our downstairs bedroom is full of junk that we need to sort through. There is also a stack of boxes halfway to the ceiling that need to be taken out. All things considered our home is comfortable and we are enjoying making it our own.

Carrie Underwood Concert!

I grew up in Puyallup WA where we have one of the largest fairs in the Pacific Northwest. They usually have a great concert series throughout the fair. Our house was probably only a couple of miles up the hill from the fair so I could always hear the concerts every night. I always wanted to go to one but never did growing up. A couple months ago I noticed that Carrie Underwood was performing in Nampa closer to where we live in Pocatello; however it was going to be on a Sunday. I looked through her future dates and found that she was going to be at the Puyallup Fair September 19. I then got the crazy idea of getting tickets to fly back to Puyallup so we could go to the fair and the concert.

Well, we ended up getting tickets for Janna, Audrey, and myself to fly out of Boise because they were $200 a piece cheaper. We bought two extra tickets for Allison and Matt to come to the concert with us. It was a lot of fun to fulfill something that I had always wanted to do. It was even more fun to be able to share it with Allison and Matt and to be able to show Janna around the fair. We loved the fair growing up as kids and it was fun to take Janna and Audrey to it.

Audrey giving Sadie a kiss!

We stopped by Dad & Sandi's house to visit on Saturday evening. Audrey couldn't wait to see the dogs. She kept asking to see Sophie (their other dog that is the same breed as Sadie). Sometimes the dogs get a little too excited for Audrey's tastes. They can knock her over since they are so much bigger and stronger than Audrey but she loves to see them anyway!

Slime!

I don't really know why but I have never liked mayonnaise. I don't like Miracle Whip either (in case you were wondering). Janna, however, loves mayo! I affectionately refer to her mayo as slime. A couple nights ago we were having dinner and Janna had a jar of mayo on the table. Audrey pointed in its direction and so I explained to her that the thing she was pointing to was slime. Of course, Audrey then pronounced the word "slime" much to Janna's objection. I, on the other hand, thought it was hilarious!

P.S. I did teach her the correct word but only time will tell whose side she's on! :)

New Camera!

For several years now we have had a Canon PowerShot A75 camera. It has been a great camera and we had hoped to keep using it for awhile longer but sadly it began having problems. It was washing out all of the white, making things blurry, and horizontal colored lines were appearing in pictueres. Since we have a vacation to Washington coming up in July we invested in a new camera. The new one is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5. It has a larger LCD screen than the Canon did and it shoots HD video. The video feature can be nice for those times when you don't have the camcorder and you want to capture something on video spur of the moment. I haven't had time to test it out much yet but I like it so far. It has a faster shutter speed than the Canon did too.

Welcome to our Blog!

It seems like everyone has a blog these days. I can understand why after reading the ones my friends keep. They are a great way to keep a record of your life and be able to share it with friends. What sealed the deal for me creating one was when a friend told me you could convert your blog to a hardcover book for a great price. It sounded like a great idea so I looked into and it is a great deal! It doesn't cost much and the books turn out great. So, I'm starting this blog to write about my family and the things that we do. I hope it goes well. I have never thought of myself as a creative writer so we will see!

Our blog is entitled "The Herron House." This is mostly because I lack creativity to think of something better. So, for the time being that is the best you get. Who knows, maybe a better title will come to me as I doze off to sleep tonight!
