Did you hear the cry?

Jason was chatting with VR, our builder the other day, and openly asked him, if we would be in the house by Christmas. He started mumbling, and said "Everything would have to go just perfectly."

So, I take that as a, "NO!"

Also, it's taken about 2 weeks to get our cabinet drawings done, which isn't to bad, I guess, but I think it's going to be about a month before they are made and installed in the house. That's the next stage for the inside, so it looks like we will be waiting a while.

If these 'ol walls could talk......

They would say, "Hurry up!"

The walls are up, the ceilings are finished, and in fact the texture is on too!!

They have cleaned everything up inside pretty good, so you can see things better! I love it!

Status Now

As of now, the bricks are nearly completely done. The rock has been delivered, and we are waiting on that to start.  There is rock on the front and back around the porch.

The brick is a re-claimed brick from Dallas, and I was really nervous about it, but it has turned out great.  From the road, the house just looks beige, but when you get to the house, you can really tell the different variations in the colors of brick!

There are 2 huge piles of sheetrock laying around (under the big yellow tarp).  We are currently waiting on the sheetrock to start.  They were supposed to be here yesterday. We have already done a walk through with the cabinet guy, and are waiting on 3D drawings back from him.

The insulation is completely done! They finished up and cleaned up yesterday!

The front and back doors are both in!

We are also waiting on the framers to come back, and finish the front porch. There will be two arches between the pillars that needs to be done.

It kind of feels like it serious business now. Everyone is talking serious, and not joking around. I like it; hopefully they are trying to get us in before Christmas. We shall see. Either way, I still am enjoying the house process, and before we know it, it will be over, and that will be it, forever!

We've decided on a granite that we found in Abilene, and they are extremely close to ordering our bathroom tile.
