When I lived in Minneapolis, I would most likely be found on the weekends at the Lounge hanging out with my girlfriends, chatting with the cute bartender, and downing some Mandarin Cosmos. Or, I'd drag my friends to First Avenue or the 400 Bar or any other local (sometimes not so local) venue where the Honeydogs were playing.
I'm now a recovering groupie and a San Francisco resident, but I still get excited when the band sends out an e-mail to its fan list.
I opened the band's most recent e-mail to read that a new CD, "Sunshine Committee," is coming out (release date of March 10) -- with a CD release show at First Avenue on March 13. Damn, wish I could be there!
The group included a link to its MySpace page, and I discovered the band now has an Asian band member -- Steven Kung! (Yes, it's been a long time since I've seen the Honeydogs live. Too long.)
