10 on the 10th - December

It is time for the last 10 on the 10th. It is Wednesday, December 10th. Jason often gets to play a game of Headbands with Allie in the morning. He wears the stylish headband while Allie acts out the animals. He was so glad I took these photos.

Allie is having her predictable lunch of cheese quesadilla. Recently she has switched to grilled cheese and pickles but that didn't last to long and we are back to the good old status quo. Two very different facial expressions.

It has been one of those weeks that Jason and I were both pretty happy to drop off Allie at school and have 3 glorious child free hours.

All refreshed and ready to pick kids up from school.

Kassie now has activity days and is loving it! They made these cute ornaments our of peppermint candies today.

HOMEWORK! It consumes our evenings. Mikele is doing her reading, Allie a few worksheets and Brock had math homework. Kassie also has reading, math and spanish.

Every time I pull out my camera the kids just assume it is the 10th of the month. They often request that I take pictures of certain things for the project. Today Allie asked me to take a picture of her hair. So as our final picture of the project we have Allie's fishtail braid.

I have so enjoyed this project. It has been a great way to capture our every day lives. I hope you have enjoyed it too. Merry Christmas!!

10 on the 10th - November

8:53 am
Allie usually starts her morning in Jason's office playing on his ipad. She loves this game called Endless ABC.

I did a little room check after everyone was off to school. Brock didn't do so well. He hung these blankets so that his light wouldn't shine on his face in the morning.

Surprisingly Mikele's room look pretty good! She even made her bed!! Gold star for her today.

12:30 pm
Off to Kindergarten! Don't worry we are late. . .as usual.

3:21 pm
Brock and Mikele had orthodontist appointments today. Brock is picking the color of the rubber bands on his braces. He actually had to have his gums lasered today. It sounds a lot worse then it really was.

3:35 pm
Mikele just had her retainer checked. We are waiting for the rest of her adult teeth to come is so we can finish the process.

4:33 pm
A little after school snacking!

6:24 pm
Dinner - Creamy Grilled Chicken Piccata. YUMMY! Like seriously so good! Here is a link to the recipe. Creamy Grilled Chicken Piccata

6:47 pm
Relaxing with a little Candy Crush. Actually this game just frustrates Jason. He deleted the game but re installed it so he could send me a ticket so I could move on to the next level. Now he is hooked again.

7:25 pm
Kassie taught the lesson for family home evening. She was hardcore serious.

7:40 pm
Mikele felt like she was getting a little long winded.

8:46 pm
Finishing up homework. Oh the joys. Is it summer vacation yet?

10 on the 10th - September

School is back in session so the pictures for Wednesday, September 10th is a great example of a typical school day. I went running this morning. It was a good run. 8 miles in 1 hour and 15 minutes.  It is crazy that some long runs can about kill me and others just feel awesome.

While I am getting everyone else off to school Allie sometimes has to entertain herself and the ipad is a great distraction until I can get her breakfast.

Off to school! Kassie and Allie ride the bus this year which is awesome for me!

After school is homework time! Mikele loves to listen to audio books while she does homework. Mikele why isn't your bed made?

Brock is getting in a little gaming time before he heads to the temple with the young men.

PHOTO BOMB!

Allie is playing her first season of soccer! She is loving it. Surprisingly not the most aggressive player but you have to start somewhere.

Finishing up homework while at the soccer game.

Or practicing a few cartwheels. Nice abs Kassie!

After I dropped Allie off at kindergarten, I  headed to Salt Lake City to attend the Click away photo conference with my BFF and sister of a different mister Lynette! Don't we really look like sisters! Photo credits go to Jason this month because he took all the after school pics. Great Job Jason!

Back to School Pictures!!

It is time again for back to school photos!! We had so much fun taking the kids shopping for their back to school wardrobe! This year Jason and I took each child one at a time. We to them out to eat at the restaurant of their choice and enjoyed some one on one time together. It was so fun to see how each shopping experience was unique to the child. Than last weekend we went to an orchard took their back to school pictures. They are my favorite people to photograph!!

If you would like to see all of the photos from their back to school session you can check out the entire gallery here.

Allie was the first we took shopping. She loves to try on clothes but takes forever to do so because she is jabbering the entire time! When it comes to picking out what she wanted to keep and what we were putting back she was very worried about offending and would say "I am not saying that I don't like this shirt but I like this other shirt better."

Oh Miss Kassie! She was the fastest at trying on clothes. Our biggest challenge with her was that she is so dang skinny. She needs a super skinny jean so that it fits around her waist but is also long enough! She was getting some cute leggings and a denim skirt to go over it. The skirt was WAY to big in the waist so I was looking in the little girls section and found a size 4 on clearance (normally she wears a 7) I had her try it on and it fit great!

Mikele was so fun to shop with!! She looks great in every color and is willing to try anything. She can totally pull of these crazy pants. She also loves owls and picked multiple shirts with an owl on it.

Brock was probably the hardest to shop for and with. He was all about getting done! He is in between the boys section and the teen section. It is hard to find pants that are skinny enough in the waist but also long enough for his legs. His Sunday pants are a 16 slim. Do you know how hard it is to find a 16 slim anywhere? So we moved up to the teen stores and found 26 waist pants which still are a little big on him and a lot of stores don't carry that small of waist size. Brock survived and we did find some sharp looking clothes that he looks pretty great in if I do say so myself!!

Water Fun with Murdock Cousins!

Every summer Jenny and I try to get the kids together to play while Jenny and I get a chance to chat. It always seems like it is the last week of summer when we are trying to cram in our get together. Than we have so much fun and make big plans to do it more often the next summer. We are such optimist that next year summer won't be so crazy. Anyways this year we went to the pool in Roy. My friend Cindy introduced me to this fabulous pool that is never very busy and half way between my house and Jenny's. Perfect!

Allie intentionally turned her back to the camera and wanted the picture taken this way. Such a goof ball!

10 on the 10th - August

I actually am pretty good about taking pictures on the 10th but posting them is another story. So Brock has been enjoying the fact that he can sleep in. We often don't see his smiling face until after 10:00 am. It is going to be a rude awakening when school starts again.

My cuddle monster likes to climb in bed with me in the morning.

Working hard bringing home the bacon.

Lawn mowing day! Brock mowes the back back, Mikele the back and Kassie the front lawn.

Kassie loves listening to audio books on her ipod. She used some of her allowance money and bought herself a pair of headphones. This summer she listened to or read over 2,300 pages!!

Mikele is so happy that her best friend Morgan is back from a two week vacation. There may have been tears on more than one occasion while Morgan was gone.

With school just around the corner it was time to get the girls' semi-annual hair cuts. Kassie just trimmed the bottom but she did have Heather Rutledge cut her bangs.

Mikele also went with just a trim.

Allie had a trim too but what she was most excited about was getting her hair washed. When I made the appointment Allie made sure I told Heather she wanted a wash and a trim. When it was Alie's turn, she sat back in the chair and declared "This is going to feel so good!"

All cute and one step closer to being ready for school!
