Last night Clay and I traveled down to Macon, Ga to the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame to see his Grandad, Cliff Kimsey, get inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. It is a HUGE honor, and at 90 years old, his granddad was so honored to get this special award. He was an amazing athlete in high school and went on to play football at the University of Georgia. At the University of Georgia, Grandaddy Cliff shared a backfield with GSHF inductees Frank Sinkwich and Lamar “Racehorse” Davis and played tailback, fullback, and blocking back during his collegiate career. In 1942 Cliff was the recipient of UGA’s Outstanding Senior Athlete Award. Not only did he play football, but he played baseball for the Bulldogs too! He is now the oldest living football player from the University of Georgia, as well as one of the sweetest men I have ever met. Here is a picture of Grandaddy Cliff...
