It was pretty easy thinking of what to do for a theme for Ella's party. This summer Logan has been taking Ella outside to show her all the bugs and she would always get so excited to show me what she has found. One of her favorite bugs of course is the ladybug. We ended up deciding to have her party at Bear World since that was where it all kind of began. We went to bear world when I was 39 weeks along. I ended up going into labor that same night. (: So I thought how fitting to take her back to Bear World for her birthday.
For the party all of my side of the family as well as Logan's were able to come. We first drove through the park and got to see all the bears walking around, then we stopped at the pavilion and ate pizza, ladybug cupcakes and cake. Afterwards it was off to go on the rides and let the kids see all sorts of different animals at the little park inside. We had such a great time. Thanks to my family and Logan's family for coming.
Thanks to Nana Kinghorn for helping make Ella's ladybug dress. It turned out so cute.
It was fun making her cake this year. I worked a little bit more with fondant than I have in the past. It actually was a lot easier than I expected. I ended up making the bottom of the cake and had a girl make the ladybug. My mom gave me the idea of doing a rice krispy cake so the lime green cake is made out of that and the ladybug was a vanilla cake with a raspberry cream filling- It tasted AMAZING. I loved it.
It was great doing the birthday party at Bear World because they give you a deal where every person over 3 years old gets in for half price (2 and under is free), then they do signs up everywhere with their name and you get a group picture taken as well. I felt like it was the perfect place to take them. All the kids loved it.
The cupcakes were easy to do as well. I used fondant for the ladybugs body and some of the heads were whoppers or black icing for others and then I cheated and bought the sunflowers. (:
