Hello, long-lost readers and new subscribers who signed up after I stopped posting on this blog, not realising I had done so.
Life has been crazy since I last posted all those years ago: I had a book published; I began running writing workshops on a regular basis; I became heavily involved in my local arts scene; I completed an MA; I even started a new blog after the pandemic, to cheer people up, but that, too, died a death [I’ve always wondered about that phrase: doesn’t everything die a death? It can’t die a life, or a toasted muffin, or a windy day, now can it?]. And of course, I had an actual life around all of the writing stuff: I acquired various health conditions; Tory Boy moved away, had kids and got married, and has a successful retail career; Spud went to drama school, acquired an agent, didn’t work in the business for two years because of a certain virus, and is now a jobbing actor, consistently employed in a notoriously difficult field. And the Hub, is…well, exactly the same, but worse.
Aaannnnyyywaayy, my point is that I don’t have time to post on either blog on a regular basis, particularly as I have a new book coming out next week, so I have set up a website instead*. You can find everything you need to know about me there. It has a blog and I hope to write the occasional post in the style of TLH, so please do subscribe. That’s right: I’m not above begging. But you knew that about me.
You can find the website here. It’s hosted by WordPress so you’re in the same postcode; really, it’s just like crossing the street, turning the corner, then stopping someone to ask for directions because you weren’t paying attention when your mum was nagging you.
By the way, did you see how I slipped in, ‘I have a new book coming out next week’? Subtle, no? Unlike the massive photo at the top of the page 😉 Long-time readers might remember my short-lived blog – yes, another; I’ve had about six in total, I think – about my time in South Africa, in which I posted poems and then told you the stories about the poems. I eventually gathered them all together into a book, changed the title because I don’t want to be bullied to death on social media (assuming more than ten people read it), and, voila!
You can find the details on my new website.
Thank you once again, dear readers, for sticking with me all those years; I do hope to see you again soon.
*Translation: I traded skills with Digital Annie and she set up my website and I read one of her poems and made a few suggestions. I know which one of us scored the most out of that deal and it wasn’t the local DA.
