Our Sealing Pics!! June 5th, 2009

A Very Happy Day for us all!! It was beautiful and just so fun to see our friends and family come to join us on this special day!! I know we were doing the right thing! Heavenly Father truly does love each and every single one of us! Now our anniversary will really mean so much more to us!!

Birthday pics from back in May!! Trying to get caught up!!

This was Evan's 1st birthday and it was great!! Once he realized that we wanted him to get dirty with the cake, he dug right in...enough so that it was all over his body and he ended up needing to get a bath! Loved it so much!!

President Packer and his wife come to town!!

President Boyd K. Packer came to our stake conference on the February 1st. I of course was very excited wondering what on earth is going to happen and what specific message he would tell us. Well, I just have to laugh because the first thing he says, "Well, I suppose you're all wondering why Herriman, why now? Well, it comes down to this, my grandfather was born here, and have had a special place for Herriman because of him, and others in my family have lived out here until about 6 or 7 years ago, so that is why. When we aren't busy traveling we have the option of going to where we would like and I was looking at a list and noticed that Herriman was going to have their stake conference when I would be available, and so I thought I will go out visit Herriman."

Anyway, I obviously can't quote him on everything because I didn't hear every word, but he didn't really have one specific message other than he told some stories about Herriman and then he did comment on the economy though. He basically just said, it still is going to get worse and I don't know how this will affect you each individually, just pray for strength and guidance, the Lord is with you. Get prepared as much as possible, with food storage, family time and stay in touch with the Lord, that was the gist of his whole talk. Oh, but the best part was when he said, now husbands listen to your wives, they know things before we do, listen. At least that is what I heard. It was really hard to hear him because he didn't speak very loud and with all the kids, it was difficult. But nonetheless, it was still very exciting to have one of the apostles in our midst. His wife spoke too, just before he did, but I couldn't hear much of anything with her. From what I gather she did say something about not yelling at our kids, and being better mothers, but that is about it.

So, it was just also interesting to hear about all the preparations for him. You were not allowed to save seats, you had to back your car up into the parking spot, they had a bathroom reserved just for him, he didn't want any cold air blowing on him, and a few other things. Lots of people told, and directed you where to sit, park, etc. They opened the doors at 8 am and surprisingly only a few showed up before then, and I got there a little after 8 and there was still a lot of spots available, granted it was in the back, but the front of the back. If they hadn't blocked off some of the rows up front, I am positive we would have been able to be a lot closer, but oh well. It was still a nice experience overall, and Pablo joined me later with the kids. So, now it is fun to say that President Packer has a very special place for those of us out in Herriman. Fun stuff!!

Evan's First Word

EVAN FINALLY SPOKE HIS FIRST WORD, AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! HE SAID, "MAMA." I WAS IN THE BATHROOM, OF ALL PLACES BRUSHING MY HAIR, WHEN HE SAID IT, AND I WASN'T 100% SURE, SO I ASKED PABLO AND HE SAID YES. HE WAS A LITTLE SAD ONLY BECAUSE HE WANTED HIS FIRST WORD TO BE DADDA OF COURSE. I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CAPTURE IT ON VIDEO YET. HE IS A BIT ELUSIVE WHEN IT COMES TO WHEN HE'LL ACTUALLY SAY IT. IT ISN'T A CONSISTANT THING JUST YET, BUT WHEN HE DOES SAY IT, MY HEART JUST MELTS!! KAITLYN'S FIRST WORD WAS DADDA, SO IT IS ONLY FITTING THAT I SHOULD GET THE FIRST WORD THIS TIME AROUND, RIGHT?

I just had to share..."I'm soo tired"

I couldn't resist...he fell asleep obviously while playing in his jumper..at first I didn't notice because usually he starts to cry when he is done, but this time he must have been too tired! And I love the fact that he is still holding on to the toy!! He has done that a few times before, but I've never had a camera for it.
