The theme of Journey and Presley's birthday party was arts and crafts and let me tell you this was hard to lay off. I had so many ideas and had to only go with a few. When people started to arrive I had face painting and tattoos ready to go. They were also able to paint at the painting station which was an easel and a place for their paintings to dry. About 1/2 hr into the party, I had a balloon artist show up where the kids got to pick what they wanted and she would make it for them. She was there for about an hour. The kids had a blast at that one. Journey got a penguin, Trinity chose a peacock and I got Presley some fairy wings. After that we had cake and cupcakes. The cake was key lime with key lime cream cheese. Oh my it was super yummy. The cupcakes were chocolate with caramel filling. After cake we broke open the pinatta. I forgot to take a picture of that, but I made a crayon box. It was pretty cool and it had tons of toys and candy. After that we had music. That was a bunch of fun. We did a song with musical instruments, a song with egg shakers, a song with marching sticks which I hand made, a song with ribbons, and of course silly fish. The kids were also able to do crafts which were pretty cool. I had make your own coloring book, make your own egg shakers (which were used in music), make your paint can, and make your bookmarker. Then the kids let loose with the silly string. Really is a must have at a birthday party. The kids also got to each their lunch which were put inside pencil boxes. The lunches consisted of crayon shaped PB &J, a cookie, chips, juice, a rice krispy paintbrush, fruit (pineapple, honeydew, blackberry, strawberry, and orange). I also marked each of their place settings with a name jar filled with homemade scented playdough. After everything, the kids all got to leave with their favors which were their names spelled in crayons, a coloring pad, and edible art supplies (crayons, paint pallette, and paint balls). So all in all the kids left the party with the following: Paint cans, bookmark, coloring book, 2 egg shakers, their painting, pencil box, playdough jar, rice krispy paintbrush, edible art supplies, coloring pad, crayon names, pinatta candy and their animal balloon. I am pretty sure they had tons of fun and I hope you enjoy the pics. I totally neglected to take pics this year so hopefully I got some good ones.
