Crafty Catz DT - Anything Goes

Morning all!

Another Friday is here and the end of the month with it! where is this year going? seriously - where?!

Anyway, Friday only means one thing on my blog and that is a new challenge over at Crafty Catz. This week is Anything Goes - aren't we kind to you?

We have two sponsors this week - Yours or Mine and Digi Darla

5 images of the winners choice

I used this fab image from Digi Darla which is Oriental Maiden. She is coloured with promarkers in gold, ruby, poppy, blush, henna, terracotta and cinnamon. She is paper pieced with freebie papers. The oriental paper is from Bunny Zoe, standard cream, red, black cardstock. The flowers are woodware punches and gems from stash.

So there we go - hope you like it. Don't forget to come and play with us this week.

Until next time, happy crafting! x

Crafty Catz DT - Monochrome

Happy Friday one and all!

Am I ever glad its the end of the week - it's been a bad one I have to say - but the weekend brings a break and fresh starts next week!

Enough of my rambling, it's time to get on with this weeks challenge card for Crafty Catz. This weeks theme has been set by me and it's Monochrome. Remember, monochrome is shades of any colour - not just black and white.

We are sponsored this week by  Delicious Doodles, who are offering our lucky winner 4 images of their choice
Grab a Banner
On with the card then:

We were given this lovely image to play with but it was originally in black and white, so I tweaked it somewhat on the computer to get to a sepia brown feel and then layered it all up. The papers are from All Aboard and Wellington 6x6 paper packs, I cut the calendar sections out from another sheet of paper. The ribbon is from stash as are the pips.

I hope you like it - I tried to give it an old world vintage feel that was still suitable for a guy.

Anyway, thanks for dropping by and until next time - happy crafting!

Birthday Boy Blues

Afternoon all,

I hope you're all having a good start to the weekend, whatever you're up to. I just have a quick card to share today. I have both a good friend and my Dad's birthday in the next two weeks and once again the dreaded task of making original 'male' cards stared me in the face. So firstly - to cheat - I made the same card, twice! lol! secondly I looked at all the scraps of paper I had and decided that this was going to be my driving force. So here we are:

So I went with lots of layers; base card, black card, white card, blue card, patterned paper and then the second star is raised on a foam pad too!

It took longer than I expected to get all the pieces the right size and make it look ok, but I'm fairly happy with the final result.

I would like to enter this card into Fussy and Fancy - Monochrome (mainly blues), Creative Inspiration - Anything Goes with Sketch Option (not used sketch) and Dream Valley - Boys/Men

Until next time, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Winter Fantasy

Morning all,

Another Friday and another challenge over at Crafty Catz. This weeks challenge was set by Anna who has set the theme 'Winter Fantasy - use a Fairy'; so that's the key this week, your card must include a fairy!

We are sponsored this week by Fitztown:
They are offering our lucky winner 3 digi's of their choice

So on with my card this week

I coloured this fab image with the following promarkers: honeycomb, pastel pink, ivory, blush, polar blue, pastel blue, cool grey 1, icicle gold, pastel yellow, buttercup, pear green, moss, blossom, winter berry.

The main pattern paper was a freebie from a magazine, the other DT paper is scrap. I hand cut the white card and embossed it using sizzix's snowflakes folder and highlighted with gems. I finished with a few pearls.
I hope you like it, don't forget to pop by the others blogs to see their fab creation. Until next time though, happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Pretty in Pink

Good Morning one and all and here's to another Friday and a brand new challenge over at Crafty Catz. This week's challenge has been set by the lovely Aunty Sue and the theme is Pretty in Pink. So we're looking for predominantly pink creations this week please.

We are sponsored this week by Crimson Cloud and Fred She Said

3 Packs of Die Cuts

$15 Gift Voucher

We are also looking for a GDT for February. So if you fancy trying your hand, just put GDT after your name. You don't have to be experienced as we all have to start somewhere - I'd never had a DT place and then tried out and here I am as a full time member of this fab team!

Although we were kindly given images to play with, I have a couple of Fred She Said digi's in my stash and at least one of them had never been inked up, so I used the gorgeous Magnolia Flower Digi which has been unloved, to showcase this week
I used the pre-edited images to layer up the flower, mounted it on a circle dusted on the edge with colourbox chalk- Blush rose, and coloured the flower in promarker's of Blush, Dusky Rose, Blossom, Gold, Moss and Pear Green

The DP's are from the Spring Jubilee Pad, which came free with Cardmaking and Papercraft last year. The plain papers are dovecraft colour basics. I used a lace doily and cut a couple of butterflies from another sheet of paper and finished it all off with some crystal gems

So there we go! I hope you like it and don't forget to pop by everyone else's blogs to see their fab creations too.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges
Mojo Monday - Sketch #327
Handmade Harbour - Blue or Pink

Until next time, happy crafting!

Blue Birthday

Evening all!

Just a quick card to share tonight, this is a card I made for my brother's birthday - it is yet another variation and adaptation I've made on my embossed star card design. If you are a follower of my blog and pop by fairly frequently you'll know that this card evolved from a Christmas design in 2012 and has changed and morphed into my go to Male birthday card. Evolution #3 is this:
On this occasion I cut the base card in a diagonal, mounted two darker blue triangles on the front and inside panel and mounted the base square in the centre so it looked like a whole when closed. I cut white card out, cut out a star using my Nestabilities Dies and embossed the remaining frame in cuttlebug's spots and dots folder. I cut a second smaller star out of white cardstock also.

I mounted the embossed panel onto a lighter blue cardstock, added a blue/green/grey organza ribbon on the one side  and mounted the smaller star on foam pads in the space. I finished the card with a few crystals and stickles galore on the smaller star.

I would like to enter this card into: Allsorts Challenge - Free and Easy and Simons Says - Ice Inspiration

I'll be back tomorrow with another Crafty Catz DT card, but until then, happy crafting!

The  winner will receive 7 images of their choice

If you're like me, then you have a few thank you cards to make and send for fabulous Christmas gifts, so this challenge has really prompted me get my act together.

Well here's to the first card of 2014, a nice fun little number wishing 'ewe' a happy new year! Aaah I love this little sheep - never fails to make me laugh!
I used up odds and ends of paper, card and ribbon stock to make this card and added ever trusty stickles to make it glitter. Not much more to say about it.
