Crafty Catz DT - Anything Goes: New Home

Good Morning and another happy Friday to you all.

It's the last Friday of the month, so that means it Anything Goes over at Crafty Catz. We have two fab sponsors this week: Yours and Mine and Make it Crafty

$10 Voucher

My card this week was a new home card for a friend who has just brought her first property, as I didn't have much time to get it made and in the post I kept it nice and simple
I printed Tiddly Ink text from the Steam-punk Range and over the top the Home Sweet Home image. I then duplicated the house image several times so that I could layer it up. I coloured it with whisper pens and mounted it on some spare teal cardstock, added a ribbon with a key charm and a couple of pips.

Not the most imaginative card I've ever done but she loved it (and the coasters I sent) so I won't complain.

Don't forget to stop by the blog to see some truly inspirational cards from the girls this week.

Until next time, happy crafting!

He is Risen! Easter Card

Morning!

Well my post title may be a week premature but today is Palm Sunday and Jesus' arrival into Jerusalem has been celebrated - with Holy week upon us and Easter Sunday next week, it seems the perfect time to share my Easter card design for this year.
The image is from Just Inklined and I layered it up 3 times on top of the base image. I coloured it in using my trusty promarkers in; Caramel, Henna, Buttercup, Gold, Pear Green and Moss. The background image is from Heartfelt Creations; Easter Lilies Set, stamped in Pumice Stone, the edge of the card has been accented using Versa Magic: Thatched Straw and the ribbon and gems are from stash.

Thanks for stopping by to look. I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simon Says - Easter
Sketch Saturday - Sketch #305
Allsorts - Spring Blossoms
Dream Valley - Easter

Until next time - happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Animals

Happy Friday!

Another week - where has it gone? seriously, this year is going far too fast for my liking! Easter is almost upon us - how did that happen?

Anyway, another Friday means another challenge over at Crafty Catz and this week the theme has been set by Aunty Sue who would like to see you all use an Animal on your card this week. We have two sponsors Creative Classroom and Fred She Said

A free set to any one of our online classes. The student has up to one year to claim their prize.
$15 Voucher

Fred She Said also gave us a cute image to play with this week and you can see it on some of the other girl's cards, but I already had an image from them called 'Wee Hummingbird' that I wanted to use so here it is:
The background is a memory box die, cut from peach floral paper from an Echo Park pad (can't remember it's name) I accented the background with gems in green, red and plum. The image is coloured with promarkers in Saffron, Gold, Burgundy, Slate, Pear Green, Moss and Forest Green. I layered the body of the hummingbird and the bottom flower to give some dimension.

I hope you like it and don't forget to swing by the other girl's blogs to spread some love. Until next time though - happy crafting!

Crafty Catz DT - Spring Time

Morning all,

Another Friday, another new challenge at Crafty Catz. Another bumper crop of entries for last week's challenge, so don't forget to pop back tomorrow to see if you're a winner. On to this weeks challenge though and the theme has been set by Janette who would like to see you make something on the theme of Spring Time

This week we have two fab sponsor's: Bugaboo and Crafty Ribbons
7 images of winners choice

So on with my card:
The foundation for this weeks card was some fantastic freebie floral tags I discovered on pinterest from a lovely blog call Lilac and Lavender. You can find the tags here. Once I'd settled that I was using them, I then set about working out the card. I created my own tag template base card, using some textured recycled cardstock in a pinky purple that matches perfectly. I then messed with the tags and printed the darling bugaboo image onto one, before printing her again on letraset paper to colour, this ensured that the finer details wouldn't be lost. I then added a sentiment on to a second tag which reads 'In the midst of our lives, we must find the magic that makes our souls sour'

I coloured the image with promarkers in; Blush, Honeycomb, Burnt Orange, Blossom and Amethyst. I then punched out some MS butterflies and coloured the white cardstock with versmagic ink in Thatched Straw and Perfect Plumeria and then I accented the butterflies and the tags with stickles in Platinum and Copper.

I hope you like it, totally different for me but I love it simplicity. Don't forget to stop by the other girls fabulous blogs to see their stunning creations.

Until next time - happy crafting!

Mother's Day Card

Evening all,

Nothing quite like being late to the party is there? Oops! Well I've had a terrible few weeks with some health issues and manic times at work and frankly, crafting has gone out the window! That said, Mum and I did have our annual girls day out at the NEC to the Hobby Craft show and yes, I spent too much money. Oops!

So, despite best interests to stay on top of my game and get some extra crafting in this year, my mother's day card wasn't started until 4pm on Saturday afternoon......yep, like I said, last minute. But oh well. I finally made it and thankfully mum loved it so here we go:

I used cream base cardstock onto which I layered paper from a freebie paper pack I've had for almost a year - I can't remember what it's called as in January I decided to thin out my unused papers and cut down to 22cm squares all the DP I thought I might use - they are all now mixed up and stored in a box to be used. If they're still there at Christmas, they're going.

Ooops, ramble much?

Anyway, the design came about with a doily, a half circle of another freebie paper, a computer generated sentiment, a length of gorgeous East of India ribbon, some inked Martha Stewart butterflies and a freebie digital download butterfly which I found on pinterest and you can get here

The whole thing was finished with some stickles. The inside of the card (which I didn't photograph before I wrote my message) is another doily with a plain circle ontop, edges inked and finished with some more MS butterflies.

So there we go. I hope you like it!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Dream Valley - Mothering Sunday
My Craft Creations - Anything Goes
Simon Says - Anything Goes

Until next time though, happy crafting!
