Yes, Virginia. We ARE At War.

You had to know that the day would come when there would be some sort of retaliation of the US and Israel bombing the bejesus out of Iran, right? I mean, there isn’t a situation in reality where two countries get together and totally destroy a third country without some sort of damage being done to them. Yes, we have had (to date) 15 US service members killed, and about 365 troops wounded per the Pentagon.

But yesterday’s reporting that a US F-15 was shot down over Southwest Iran and that only one of the two onboard had been rescued was an eye opener that should be a cause for some questioning.

First and foremost, and yes, I’m going to take exception to Donald Trump on this one, I’m really tired of him over-selling the situation. Every time Trump describes anything, it’s the best, the greatest, historically never been achieved. And that infuriates the hell out of me. Back in 2020 during the pandemic, I stopped watching the daily briefings he would run because all he did was thank different people and companies and remind the American people that never before in human history had someone been able to do so much with so little in such a short time.

And now in the Iran War, we have totally taken out their air force, their navy, and they only have a minimum number of missiles and drones left. We’ve totally decimated their production capacity. Well, that’s one side of the story. But the truth is, if that were the case, and apparently, it’s not, there’s no way that plane could have been shot down.

Trump says we are only a “couple of weeks” away from leaving Iran. That is kind of true, but not really. He’s been saying this whole thing would be over in “a couple of weeks” since it started on February 28th. He’s still saying that. I would say that almost HAS to be true if he is following the law because we’ve been at this for 36 days as of this morning. He has to wrap up his involvement by day 60 according to the War Powers Act of 1973. And he has 30 days to get the troops out of the area. That gives him at most 24 days to wrap it up (three and a half weeks).

Here’s my problem, and before you think I’m some anti-war guy, I’m not. What he’s done was something seven presidents dating back to Jimmy Carter (including Trump 1.0) should have done. We needed to stop them from obtaining a nuclear weapon. I’m not a fan of telling a nation what type of government they can and cannot have, but stopping the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism from obtaining nuclear weapons is a noble and just cause. But my problem is that another 10,000 troops are being considered to flood the area so that we can decimate Kharg Island, Iran’s large oil facility, and keeping the Straits of Hormuz open to traffic. That is going to require Congressional approval. And we all know Congress can’t tie their shoes. They can’t keep the government fully open, and they can’t solve anything but the lamest problems of this country. They are feckless and useless. How in God’s great name are they going to tackle giving Trump a budget to fight this war, when we’re already spending hundreds of billions in Ukraine?

So, with the War Powers Act looming, and Congress not able to do anything except extend their Easter/Passover vacations, we would logically be at an impasse. And we are going to have to rely on Israel to finish the job for us. Well, that and the few NATO countries that are going to step up and help keep Hormuz open to oil tankers.

Trump over-selling whatever he’s talking about has always been my problem with him. He’s got to be the greatest, the best, the only, and the fact of the matter is, he’s done a good job. Not a great job, but a good job. And yes, if he can pull of a win in Iran without dragging us into another ten-year war, he may just reach the great category. But he’s not there yet. And with a midterm election coming up, I really don’t know if he’ll get there if there’s a war going on come November.

Did SCOTUS Screw Up Birthright Citizenship?

The Supreme Court heard arguments on Wednesday over the Donald Trump Executive Order that Birthright Citizenship be dissolved as of July 27, 2025. It was stopped because of a lawsuit and made its way hopping over the appellate court to the Supreme Court.

It would appear from the arguments and questions that the nine Supreme Court Justices had during the arguments that they were not impressed with the attempt to go back to a blood-based requirement. Frankly, I felt the Solicitor General, D. John Sauer did a poor job in handling the case.

Sauer wanted to layout the case as being tied to the 14th Amendment because of fixing the slavery issue and granting citizenship to slaves who were freed after the Civil War. However, that met with skepticism from most of the Justices, including Chief Justice, John Roberts. And I can kind of, sort of see his point.

The whole contention lies on the six words, “and subject to the jurisdiction thereof”. Trump and his team interpret those words to mean that if you’re here illegally, that you are subject to the jurisdiction of not the United States, but of the country that you came from. That would disqualify you from becoming a citizen of the United States. Sauer used the point that foreign diplomats, say serving at embassies, or at the UN are not subject to the jurisdiction thereof, but rather of the jurisdiction of the country they are representing. Ah, but there’s the problem. Diplomats are exempt from US laws altogether. And illegal aliens, as we have seen countless times, are not. They still MUST follow US law, meaning they are subject to the jurisdiction thereof.

Another argument I’ve heard is that the US allowed Native Americans to not be subject to the jurisdiction thereof because they are part of a recognized nation of their tribe. But they ARE American citizens. However, that was rectified by the 1924 Indian Citizenship Act. That act declared that all non-citizen Native Americans born within the territorial limits of the United States were US Citizens. That was a statutory grant of citizenship, not a constitutional one.

So, if Congress were to get involved and say that if you came to this country illegally, and gave birth to a child here, your child could not become a citizen, that would suffice. You wouldn’t need to necessarily change the 14th Amendment (almost an impossibility in today’s political climate). But you and I both know Congress can’t even pass a simple annual budget. Asking them to tackle something so fraught with pitfalls as citizenship for illegals would tie them up in knots for decades.

Do not be surprised if the Supreme Court comes back with the ruling that Trump’s Executive Order was illegal and not constitutional. They aren’t going to play politics on this one, and that’s what Trump was doing. Whether you believe that illegals are “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” doesn’t really matter. Trump was playing a political game. The Supreme Court is supposed to be playing a Constitutional game. And often, as in this case, the two are miles apart.

The Left’s Failed Attacks

I went back and did some research over the past 65 years or so. I wanted to know exactly how media back then covered situations, and how it’s being covered today. I think you’re going to find that it’s changed a little. OK, more than a little.

Let’s go back to April 17, 1961, some 65 years ago. JFK was president then. Some of you probably weren’t even alive. I wanted to find out how many of what was then the “mainstream media” actually went out and called JFK a “liar”. Guess how many? Zero. None. Nada.

Oh, there was criticism that the plot lacked proper planning, and had poor information. But no one anywhere went out and either in print, on TV or on radio called Kennedy a liar.

OK, let’s fast forward a few years to early 1965. LBJ is now president and Vietnam is starting to heat up. Back then we were supposed to be sending in “advisors” to help the South Vietnamese against what was basically Chinese troops helping out the north. Now, all of us that were around back then know of the left’s protests against the war. But how many of the mainstream media back then called LBJ a “liar” for saying he was sending in “advisors” when in fact, after the Gulf of Tonkin incident, we were basically sending in troops to fight the war. Answer? Zero. None. Nada.

Again, there were articles in national newspapers that questioned the intelligence of such a move, but there were none that I could find anywhere that actually called LBJ a “liar”.

Now, let’s move forward to August 30, 2021. Joe Biden sits in the Oval Office. And he was determined to get troops out of Afghanistan by no later than August 31st. We all remember what happened. Thirteen American service members were killed because of exceedingly poorly planned evacuations. And when Joe Biden announced to the US public that the withdrawal “had been a success”, how many mainstream media outlets do you think called him “a liar”? Once again, the answer was zero. None. Nada.

Oh, there are still today people that call it one of the most bone-headed moves in military history. It certainly was anything but successful. But I could not find ONE account either in newsprint, on radio, or on television where someone called Joe Biden a liar.

So, can anyone tell me why, after what has been a very successful campaign in Iran to date, anyone, and that includes bone-headed Senators like Chris Coons (D-DE), would go on a national television program and call Donald Trump a liar because this war went more than the two or three weeks than he said it would go? Coons is an absolute idiot, and I can’t begin to understand why anyone with a brain stem in the state of Delaware could even think of pulling a voting lever for this clown. Coons has been lying and suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome for so long, I’m amazed the man can even find the US Capitol.

And Coons isn’t the only piece of slime that falls into this category. The Minority Leader of the US Senate does. The Minority Leader in the House of Representatives also falls into this class. And I probably could add 40 or 45 more US Senators that would fall into this category.

Which bears the question, why in the world do people have such a hatred of the office of the President of the United States? And are they going to be OK with the fact that when they finally get back to the White House (if they ever do) that we can be just as unhinged and asinine as they are today? My hunch is they won’t like it.

Do you happen to remember when Barack Obama was getting inaugurated? It was all over the media that we couldn’t (or at least shouldn’t) refer to him by “Obama”. It had to be “President Obama”. I did it for a while out of respect for the office. At least I did it until he proved that he himself had no respect for the office. And that’s when he earned the nickname “Bobo Obama”.

It’s got to start somewhere to get respect back to that particular office regardless of who is in it. And it needs to start with the same party that is bastardizing the current occupant. Otherwise, we are heading down a very slippery slope.

Trump’s Big Problem

It’s the one thing, besides the economy that could upset Donald Trump’s wishes to keep control of Congress and give him somewhat of a green light to proceed with his agenda for the next two years.

It’s called Iran.

Let’s be honest, the country is indeed split on whether or not the Iran war was a smart move. But as long as there are not boots on the ground, and as long as it ends up positively rather quickly, it won’t hurt Donald Trump. If however, we’re in June and the summer driving season, and gas prices are still over $2.50 a gallon, he’s going to have a major problem.

Most Americans were worried that the US getting involved in Iran alongside of Israel would be a “forever war”. We were told it would be over in a couple of weeks. Just to be consistent and accurate, the US got into a war that should be over “in a couple of weeks” on February 28th. That means as you’re reading this, we’ve been involved for 32 days. That’s four and a half weeks. Not a couple of weeks. You’re going to have to forgive me if I have flashbacks to a little police action we were taking back in the 1960’s. It seemed to escalate forever, until we pulled the original “Biden exit” and left Saigon in a mad dash.

We are always being told that Americans vote their pocketbook. And I think that unless there are extenuating circumstances, that’s probably true. In 2024, there were extenuating circumstances. It was called illegal immigration. But heading into the midterms, it is the war, and it is the economic impact the war is having on us at the gas pumps. As of today, the average cost of a gallon of regular fuel in this country is $4.02. That’s the highest level it’s been since 2022, and it’s largely because of the closing of the Straits of Hormuz, which normally accounts for 20% of the world’s oil supply.

And that is going to have a very negative impact on the elections if we don’t bring this conflict to a close one way or another quickly.

Donald Trump has been said that he’s thinking of sending in 10,000 ground troops to Iran. That’s on top of the 5,000 that are already on ships ready to go ashore. He also has said that he’s not against taking out power infrastructure, such as electric plants, oil refineries, and even going after Kharg Island. Then he backtracks and says he probably won’t do that.

What he’s missing is that he is supposed to be helping the Iranian people overthrow their government. That’s not done by turning the country into darkness or blowing up all of their income producing plants. If the people of Iran don’t want to or can’t overthrow their current regime, we do not need to go in and do it for them. Iran is not California. We need to finish what we started and get out. We need to do it quickly, but this war that was only going to go on for “a couple of weeks’ is getting dangerously close to hitting the 60-day window given to the Trump administration by the War Powers Act of 1973. Then he’s got 30-days to get troops out of the arena. Sending more troops in at this late stage of the game isn’t going to help him come November. And it isn’t going to help him in dealing with Iran going forward.

Based on some rather biased polling that came out, a HUGE majority of Americans, both Democrats, Independents, AND Republicans don’t want ground troops sent into Iran. And trust me, Congress will have something to say if that happens because there is no way we get them in and out by the end of April.

If Trump can end this quickly, bring gas prices back down to the $2.50 level by mid-June, he can still pull off a miracle come November. If not, we’re looking at stagnation (again) in Congress.

The Whole TSA Debacle

You’ve heard for the last 43 days or so about how TSA workers were working without getting paid; how there were some 500 or so that actually quit their jobs because of it, and that Congress is basically to blame for the mess.

Well, just having come back from a week-long trip, I can tell you that what a lot of the media is reporting is slanted (imagine that!). Leading up to my trip, and the whole time I was gone, I saw reporting that was incredibly skewed, either to show that Democrats were having their way with Republicans, or that the opposite was true. And that there were long lines at the airports, or that there weren’t any real problems.

All I can tell you is what I saw personally. We went through the Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix on Saturday, March 21st. We went through TSA in all of 2 minutes. No line what-so-ever. When we came back through on Sunday, March 29th in Miami, it took all of 3 minutes. There was no line what-so-ever.

If you happened to be watching Fox News, you saw long lines as they focused in on Houston George Bush Airport, Baltimore/Washington Airport, and Atlanta’s Hartsfield Airport. All three had hours long lines. Well, most of America wasn’t suffering like that. So, let’s look at the facts.

Everyone wanted to make a big deal about how 500 or so TSA agents have quit their jobs. Not counting the 10,000 people that are the pencil pushers for the agency, there are 50,000 TSA agents strewn through 440 of the federalized airports across the country. So, basically 1% of TSA agents quit their jobs over the shutdown. There were roughly 6% of TSA agents that called off on any given day (as of yesterday the lines were gone because they finally got paid, more on that later). So, you had all of about 3,000 of the 50,000 agents calling off. The peak was on Friday of last week when 12.4% called off or about 6,500 agents. I spoke to several agents, and they all said, yes, they needed to get paid, but they also needed their jobs. Some said they were working side gigs like Uber and Lyft.

Speaking of work, let’s look at the average income these people make. The average nationwide for a TSA agent is about $50,000 a year. That comes out to about $5,900 that these folks are owed for the shutdown, which is more than 10% of their annual income. The base pay for the Senators who shut them down is around $174,000 a year. The average that they DID get paid during the same 43-day period is about $43,500, or almost the annual salary of the average TSA agent that they didn’t pay.

Let’s make no bones about this. The whole Democrat idea that they want to shut down ICE because of what happens in sanctuary cities was ridiculous from the start. It’s one thing to be against ICE, but to not pay the rest of the Department of Homeland Securities (because ICE agents on the street were funded through 2029), is just stupid. I get it that they were upset at Kristi Noem, but she’s gone. Holding the rest of the Department hostage is just plain stupid. Those folks had nothing to do with ICE. But that’s the Democrats’ way of thinking for you.

And I’m not just taking a swipe at the left on this one. The Republicans in the House are equally to blame. Yes, I get it that the bill the Senate passed that basically didn’t pay the pencil-pushers at ICE but left everyone else getting paid was stupid and erroneous. But the GOP screwed themselves by not passing it in the House. They gave away the chance to own the whole issue come midterms. Instead, they are now the cause of the shutdown for the next two weeks until Congress gets back from their Easter vacation. They should have passed it, and then blamed Democrats from that point on. It would have been an easy winner.

The whole victor in this mess was actually Donald Trump. By signing an Executive Order allowing TSA agents to get paid yesterday, he ended the long lines at the airports and gave those hard-working people the money they should never have lost in the first place. I’m just surprised he didn’t call Congress back into session and make them lose their prized vacation time. That would have sealed the deal. Still, he needs to come out and explain to the people why Democrats in the Senate were at fault, and why the polling showing Americans blaming Dems for the whole charade was reason enough to vote for a Republican come November.

But then again, Trump has a bigger problem right now. It’s called Iran and we’ll talk about that tomorrow! It’s great to be back!

Yeah, I’m Back!

Thanks to all who wished us a great cruise. And as you’ll learn in a few minutes, TSA was really not a problem for us. It took us 2 minutes to get through TSA at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix on the way out, and about 3 minutes in Miami yesterday coming home.

It was actually tougher getting flights that were flying on time. We did have a connecting flight in Houston (Hobby, not Bush) and had to run through 44 gates to catch our flight, which we learned after doing the Usain Bolt dance that our connecting flight was delayed as well, which was good.

The trip was wonderful as most cruises are. But we won’t be doing another until December, so we have that to look forward to.

Today we will take yet another look at the TSA situation, and what’s really going on.

Until then…

Yeah, It’s That Time Of Year Again

I do this a couple times a year, but I hope you don’t mind. I enjoy getting up every morning, writing blogs and reading what everyone has to say about the topics. But every once in a while, I need to remember that I’m married to the best woman in the world and need to treat her right. So, we go on cruises.

And that’s what is happening for the next 7 days or so.

Yeah, I’ll be fighting TSA lines along the way because I have two US Senators that are too dumb to realize that their political wishes are not as important as serving the American people, their constituents. But hopefully the folks here in the Grand Canyon State can change that in 2028 and 2032!

I plan on being back in town before the end of the month, and no…the people doing the house sitting for me aren’t well enough versed to write my blogs. They’re here just to make sure those pesky roofing companies don’t go crawling up on my roof (we get about a dozen different companies a week wanting to “check for hail damage” that occurred about 6 months ago.

See y’all when we get back!

Wanna Fix What’s Broke?

I’m going to warn you right off the bat. Today, I’m going to upset some people. We are going to discuss fixing problems that are in essence, ruining America, right under your nose, and you and I have been accepting it every step of the way.

I’m talking about three different industries that quite frankly are viewed positively by society. But in essence, they are silent killers. They drain your wallet, they take advantage of the sick, the homeless, the destitute and the dying. And they make millions doing it. You and I are complicit in it. So, do you want to fix it?

The first of the three is the second largest and that’s the not-for-profit charity schemes that are all over America. Yes, there are some that do good and help others. I’d put the American Red Cross in that boat. But think about this. American Lung Association, American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, Alzheimer Association, you get the picture. Each of these groups fundraise constantly. They bring in over $1.3 trillion total between them. And ask yourself this. When was the last time any of them actually found a cure for the disease that they were trying to stop? None of those groups have been able to do that. Oh, they’ve come up with ways to put band aids on the situations. Big Pharma does this a lot by coming up with drugs that will prolong your life without actually treating the disease. But they never actually cure anything.

And there is a very good reason for it.

If they were to cure cancer, or cure heart disease, they’d be forced to go out of business. Here’s an example. Nancy Brown is the CEO of the American Heart Association She pulls in between $4.1 and $4.4 million a year. Harold Wimmer isn’t so lucky. He’s the CEO of the American Lung Association. He only makes about $610,000 a year. But if say Brown or Wimmer’s group were to actually find the cure for the diseases they represent, they’d be paid zero because their group would be forced out of business.

The same can be said about the second group, and that’s Big Pharma. When was the last time they came out with drugs that actually cured something? Anyone? Well, they did manage to cure Hepatitis C with a 95% cure rate. But the big stuff, like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes? They go untreated. And these CEO’s make Nancy Brown look like a homeless person. Albert Bourla, CEO of Pfizer makes about $25 million a year. Juaquin Duato from Johnson & Johnson hauls in about $28 million a year. Moderna’s Stephanie Bancel isn’t quite up to that tier. She only makes $20 million a year. And Pascal Soriot, CEO of AstraZeneca is in the $20 million a year bracket.

Oh, but there’s a third type. And it’s an industry you and I don’t think of. It’s the Homeless Industry. A CEO of a homeless shelter in San Francisco may pull in $700,000 a year. In New York City, they’ll make about $500,000. And it’s their job to basically protect the homeless. In NYC alone, they will spend somewhere in the neighborhood of $97,000 PER HOMELESS PERSON this year in stuff they give them for free. Shelter, food, money, drugs, all for people living on the street. And there are homeless shelter organizations in pretty much every decent sized city in the country.

So, what’s the cure for this over-bloated, non-responsive group? Simple. It’s more money.

I suggest that we establish a fund. The group that finds a cure for say heart disease, or cancer, or diabetes, gets a trillion dollars, tax-free. The group or person that solves the homeless issue will also get a trillion dollars, tax-free. And any drug company that releases a drug that cures the disease outright (with at least a 95% cure rate) will also get a trillion dollars. But only one group or person gets it for each category. Once the disease or problem is solved, those businesses cease to exist. And if Big Pharma wants to keep making up diseases to match whatever their research and development say is their next big drug, they lose a trillion dollars and they can’t bring it to market. Yeah, it’s a stiff penalty, but it’s time we get these three institutions focused on problem-solving, not career-saving.

If we were to follow the above, think of how much money America would save, how much healthier we would all be. And we could put the money we save to good use, like electing actual statesmen and women to our Congress instead of the buffoons we send to DC every other year!

Getting the SAVE Act Passed

About 75% of Americans (more depending on the survey you choose to believe) are behind the SAVE Act, which has been debated in Congress (and still may be by the time you read this). The Republicans have forced it to the floor of the Senate after the House passed the bill 220-208 with 4 Republicans not voting, and 4 Democrats joining with the Republicans (1 Dem not voting).

Democrats don’t like the fact that there are several issues in the SAVE Act they are opposed to. First of all, the act calls on everyone to show a valid REAL-ID compliant picture ID that explicitly indicates US citizenship, a valid US passport, a military ID, or some other document that shows both a picture ID and your citizenship. They don’t like that even if a state issues licenses only to citizens, the SAVE Act explicitly bars Americans from registering to vote using their driver’s license as a proof of citizenship.

It also rankles the left that the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) gets rewritten to override the NVRA’s current prohibition on requiring documentary proof of citizenship and requires states to verify citizenship before adding any voter to the rolls.

As far as the complaint about mail-in balloting goes, the SAVE Act does not change who can request a mail-in ballot, change how ballots are mailed, tracked or counted, and doesn’t alter any signature-matching rules. It doesn’t even regulate ballot drop boxes, which really needs to be in there in my humble opinion.

Finally, the bill says that states have to check federal databases to determine immigration and citizenship data and requires removal if a registrant is confirmed to be a non-citizen. Again, this is something over 70% of the people, including Democrats are all in favor of. It does not, however purge categories that go beyond citizenship status, so dead people are still allowed to vote.

So why are Democrats in a fury over this? Good question. Most are playing on their age-old excuse that poor people and minorities can’t get proper identification to satisfy the act. But when shown that these folks already have ID’s that qualify, and an exceptionally small number of people don’t fit that category, politicians start calling it “Jim Crow 2.0”. What’s funny is, it was the Democrats that initiated Jim Crow in the first place!

Now, Republicans can do a couple of things in order to make sure the SAVE Act passes, because there are 40 or so Republican House members that are threatening not to vote on anything until the act gets passed. They can continue in the Senate with a “talking filibuster” until it passes; they can get rid of the filibuster altogether and pass it with 51 votes; or they can call for the vote, see that when it doesn’t get the required 60 votes, it won’t pass, and they can use that as a campaign issue this fall.

Honestly when you look at the act, there isn’t anything in it that would be objectionable to anyone if you’re going to play by the rules. The only true reason I can think of that Democrats would be against this is because they want illegals to vote, just like they want illegals to be counted in the 2030 census.

Once again, Democrats are on the short end of an 80-20 (or 70-30) issue and can only complain and argue with false narratives. There isn’t anything out there that can be argued that this wouldn’t be good for the country and wouldn’t strengthen our election system.

It’s time that we tighten up our election system. We need to get the illegals out of the country regardless of if they are “working” or not. They are here illegally. That’s enough to get them deported. And we need to have clean elections. No fraud, no one voting that shouldn’t be, and no mail-in ballots (even though it’s not in the current bill).

Does The GOP Have The Edge?

Yesterday we discussed why the Republicans appear to have an edge, at least today, going into 2028. We talked about why Democrats need to radically change their fight, and do it quickly or face losing the White House again.

Well, the prospects for the Dems to get back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue have gotten smaller. Actually, there are three reasons why. It’s taxes, it’s the Electoral College, and it’s babies. And the Republicans are in the driver’s seat on all three of those areas.

I know that sounds crazy but hear me out. There is a huge push among blue states to increase taxes of all kinds. Look at the taxes that passed in Virginia recently. An 8% tax rate on incomes over $600,000; a 10% tax rate on incomes over a million; they added 3.8% to taxes on many forms of investment income above $500,000; and included new taxes on dog walking services, gym memberships, dry cleaning, deliveries, gun purchases, and fantasy sports betting platforms.

In New York, Kathy Hochul explicitly warned that raising taxes on high earners could drive their wealthy residents out of New York. That comment was in direct response to legislative leaders announced support for raising personal income taxes on those earning more than $5 million, corporate taxes on large businesses and additional revenue measures.

In essence, blue states are raising taxes this year because their tax base is fleeing. Red states are cutting taxes. 25 states, all with either a Republican government or at least a Republican legislature are cutting taxes in 2026. 13 states, all with a Democrat government are raising taxes. 12 states, mostly Democrat aren’t doing either.

So, what does that mean for the states raising taxes? They lose population. That means they lose Electoral College votes in presidential election years, and they lose House of Representative seats in all federal elections. States lowering taxes are gaining population, Electoral College votes, and House seats. In the 2030 census, it is predicted that California will lose four seats, New York three, and Illinois two. Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, New Jersey, and Minnesota will all lose one each. Texas will stand to gain four seats, Florida three seats, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and Colorado all will gain one seat. Colorado is the only blue state in the bunch. That’s a total of 16 seats that red states will gain, and blue states will lose.

So that is a 32-seat swing in the House of Representatives in 2032. And that’s without the Supreme Court getting involved in voting rights with their decision expected in June on Louisiana v. Callais. That could sharply limit or even eliminate federal protections against racial vote dilution in redistricting. That would swing seats in Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and Arizona, meaning fewer majority Black and majority Latino districts will happen nationwide.

But wait, as Ron Popiel used to say, there’s more.

What about birth rates in our states? Here are the states with the highest birth rates: Utah, Texas, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Alaska. See a trend there? All red states. What about the lowest birth rate states? Glad you asked: Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. See a trend there? All blue states. Blue states aren’t having kids. Red states are.

When you add all of these factors up, not taking the Supreme Court’s upcoming decision on Louisiana v. Callais into account, the House of Representatives (and the Electoral College) could swing more Republican by upwards of 35 votes. That would basically mean the GOP will have an edge on the House and the White House for the next 50 years or more.

And these trends are just starting to show. You’re going to see a drastic shift to the right just because more and more people are turning away from the socialistic move from the Democrat party.
