The Big Buck Hunt

The Manning Men have definitely begun a tradition of yearly adventurous hunts.  This year was the year of the big buck.  Brydon flew out to South Dakota to head out to the Badlands to hunt down a monster buck.  After only 5 hours the hunt was a huge success!
This big guy measured in at 180!
Of course they had to fit in some pheasant hunting in 3 degree weather.

Meanwhile, back in Texas, we got our first ice storm.
Caleb and I enjoyed the time hanging together and staying warm at home watching movies and eating pizza.  It was a great weekend with no where to go!
Now that Caleb is in school, I definitely don't get to see his toys strung out in the house as much as I wish.  I love it when the toys are everywhere!

The Garden Explosion

Our gardening experience was much better than previous years!  We actually got produce!
However we did not have a single tomato but the plants were getting huge.
Check out those huge tomatoes in the front!
But look at how big and green everything looks!
To try to convince the tomatoes to grow we pruned them TWICE!  And we cut off huge branches as tall as me off of them!  But no tomatoes.
Finally in November, 2 weeks before the first freeze, we spotted tomatoes and a couple red ones.
We did get peppers, onions, squash, lettuce, and herbs.
It was great!  And Caleb had a lot of fun helping us.
We just might have to try again next year.
For the last lawn mowing of the year, Caleb really wanted to mow the lawn.  So Dad let him have a turn.  He is getting so so big!

2013 Family Photos

I love getting family pictures!  I love to decorate my house with them and use them for the blogs and adoption.  Unfortunately each year I find a great photographer but they move away, so I have to find a new one.  Fortunately I have been able to find a great photographer each year!  This year we worked with Ashley Larson and we had a great time.  The pictures turned out great!

Still Wishing, Hoping, Praying…….maybe this will be our year.
I wish you could see the sign better on this one, this is Caleb's favorite and he had lots of poses he wanted to do for this one.
"Waiting on my Best Friend"
So So Cute!  Caleb was feeling very mischievous and you could see that sparkle in his eyes in all the pictures.

Happy Halloween!

Brydon was a man of many faces this Halloween!
His office chose a Despicable Me Theme and Brydon was Gru.
I don't think we did too bad.
Public Health won the costume contest this year and you can see why!  They did an amazing job!

Our Family Theme
Peter Pan
 Presenting Peter Pan & Nana
 Captain Hook & Tinker Bell
Having fun trick-r-treating at the Med Group
 A fun dance competition!
We got a Papa Murphy's in town this year!  It was fun to get one of their pumpkin pizzas this year.
Passing out candy at the Tri-Ward Trunk-r-Treat.
Had to end the evening with a little Peter Pan and Captain Hook battle.
Of course, Peter Pan won!

Happy Halloween!!
