Wesley is one! (Part Two- Let's Paw-ty!)

For Wesley's first birthday, it was only fitting that we had a "Clifford the Big Red Dog" themed party. Wesley has been obsessed with his Clifford dog since Christmas, so it seemed appropriate (and super cute in my opinion) to go that direction for the party. I had a lot of fun planning all the details, and in the end I felt like it really came together. I know Wesley won't remember the big day, but thankfully we have lots of pictures to show him one day. And I'm sure he'll really care to see them all right?!

We hosted the party at my parents' house since they had plenty of space for everyone, and I stuck with primary colors (red, yellow, and blue especially) when it came to decorating. We had guests sign a hardback Clifford book, and we also decorated with several paperback books. I hung pictures of Wesley on colorful card stock paper throughout the house,  and we also decorated with colorful balloons and a cute "happy birthday" banner that I ordered from Etsy. Bill made an awesome doghouse for the kids to play in, and we also had a bouncer with balls, bubbles, a "play fetch" basket, a water table, craft table, and several riding toys for the kids. I was a little apprehensive about having enough activities to entertain kids of all ages, but I think they all had a good time!

I also had fun planning food for the party. We enjoyed Clifford's chicken (a nugget tray from Chick-fil-a), fruit kibble (a fruit tray from Chick-fil-a), puppy chow, chew stix (pretzel sticks), pupcorn, red cupcakes, Clifford sugar cookies, goldfish, chips and dips, and hot dogs for the adults. For drinks we served lemonade, Clifford apple juice boxes, "toilet water," and soft drinks (Big Red included of course). We also had an adorable Clifford smash cake made for Wesley, which he loved. The boy certainly loves sugar!

We were so grateful for all the family and friends that came over to celebrate our sweet boy. It's certainly been one exciting year, and we look forward to many more birthdays to come. We have quite a few pictures to document the day thanks to our wonderful babysitter, Lexi, and my sister, Erin. Enjoy!!

Welcome to the Paw-ty!!!

My sweet friend, Amanda, designed the invitation (check out her etsy shop here), and guests signed a hardback Clifford book.
Bill put together one killer doghouse for the kids to play in!

My little man all ready for his big day! Happy Birthday to Wesley!

I had this personalized 1st birthday sign made from a shop on Etsy, and I love how it displays all of Wesley's one year stats and favorites.

The mantle decor included a stuffed animal Clifford (we had several throughout the house), framed pictures of Wesley and Clifford, Big Red bottles, flowers in mason jars, and blocks that spelled out "Wesley." We also strung pictures from his first year of life, as well as a monthly banner with a picture from each month of his first year.

Pictures pictures everywhere!

We had a craft table with Clifford coloring pages, crayons, and stickers for the kids.

Clifford's Crafts!

We had "doggy bag" party favors that included a ball, bubbles, Clifford stickers, and "chow" (cocoa puffs cereal in little baggies).

Drinks included "Clifford Juice" (apple juice boxes), "toilet water," and lemonade.

Lots of yummy goodies!

Puppy chow and Chew stix!

Mrs. Crumpler's iced sugar cookies are the best!

Isn't this picture the sweetest?

Having some fun in the ball pit!

Sisters and cousins. :)

Bebe and Juliet were ready for the party to get started!

Wesley was so happy his buddy, Pierce, made it to the party.

We were so happy Sugar and Granddaddy came to celebrate! We sure missed Mimi and Judge and Grammie and Grandpa.

Wesley loves his aunt and uncle and cousins!

I love this boy to the moon and back!

Hi there!

Someone hated his birthday hat.

He wasn't having it with the hat and the high chair.

Much better in daddy's lap!

Once out of the high chair, Wesley went to town on his cake.

Post cake messiness. Time for a bath!

We were so grateful for all of our fabulous friends who made it to the party.

I love our little family!

Thanks, Bebe and Bear, for hosting the party!

And thanks to Lexi our babysitter for taking some awesome pictures!

Love these girls so much. :)

Ryker had fun at the party too!

Though it was a bit messy, the kids loved the water table!

Say cheese, Olivia!

Wesley's friends loved the ball pit too.

Sweet Pierce :)

Juliet loved the bubbles!

Wesley sure loves his Aunt Sarie!

Friends and babies!!

The McCunniff clan (we missed you Robert and Jenny!)
