Maddie's class party

Today was Maddie's end of the year party. We have absolutely loved having her at Locust in the KLT program and she has made so many new friends and has grown up so much since started there 2 years ago. We just can't believe next year she will be in kindergarten!

Meeting Great-Grandad

We took Doak to meet his great-grandad yesterday. It was a long overdue introduction. Wyatt and Maddie have a very special relationship with him and we can't wait for Doak to get to know him too!

First Bath

Doak took his first bath this past weekend and LOVED it...until he got water on his head and then he of course started crying. I'm sure he will get over that soon and become a water-lover like his brother and sister!

Western Heritage Parade

We braved the hot temps thursday night and headed out to the Western Heritage Parade. The kids had a blast and it was nice to get out of the house for a bit with Doak.

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day celebrating being a mommy of 3. I feel truly blessed that God would choose me to parent my 3 amazing kids. Being a mom is simply the best!

Wyatt 1st T-ball game

Wyatt has been excited about playing T-ball since around February. So the first game was all we talked about for weeks before the big day. He did so good and had so much fun!

Our First Week Home with Doak

Our first few days at home were filled with settling in and lots of friends and family coming to visit and meet Doak. The kids have adjusted very well to life with their little brother...except for a fit here and there! :-) My mom was able to stay and help out with things around the house for the first week, which was an enormous help and we couldn't have managed without her.

Doak also got to meet his Aunt Kristi and Uncle Webb the day we came home from the hospital.

We have been so blessed by our friends dropping off meals for us in the evening. This is our friend Jennifer, who got in a little cuddle time while dropping off a fantastic dinner.

Doak's birth story

Mr. Doak decided to take his time in getting here...which I was perfectly ok with since my "to-do" list was quite long. I was scheduled to be induced Wednesday, April 27th but little Doak decided to send me into early labor on Tuesday morning. I dropped the kids off at school, went home and got Nick and headed to the hospital. My nurse was so for sure that I was in labor that she called Dr. Tadvick to break my water...however when he arrived he decided that I wasn't progressing enough and for me to wait it out at the hospital. I slept like a baby that night thanks to a little Ambien and the next morning everything picked up about 7:00am. They started me on Pitocin and I had my epidural by 7:30am. Dr. Tadvick broke my water at 8:00am and then everything started progressing quite nicely. About every 45 minutes or so I was dilating 2 cm. until finally at 11:30am they called for the dr and I could start pushing. It took 2 pushes and little Doak came right out...beautiful and healthy.
