Tucker's Bedroom Pictures

Alright, I have FINALLY done something with Tucker's bedroom. I am SO excited! Mostly because I think it turned out really cute and I am proud of myself that I did it all by myself. I do have to say that I had help with Brittany as far as which pictures to put on what walls. But all of the ideas were mine. Now anyone who knows me, knows I'm not crafty so this is quite the accomplishment for me. I was inspired when I saw my friend Kim's room for her little girl. So here goes.

This is above his changing table. The left is his certificate from the hospital, the right is his blessing certificate and the middle is his birth announcement picture.

This is above his crib. My Mom got this for my baby shower in California. All of the guests signed it. :)

This is above the guest bed in his room. The left is David at about 5-months old, the right is me at about 7-months old. In May I am getting Tucker's 6-month pictures done and his will go in the middle.

Above the bed again. I got this out of one of the Ensigns. I just thought this was too cute to pass up. :)

Other than my decorating life is pretty much the same. Tucker is being stubborn and not rolling over. In his own time he'll start rolling everywhere. We bought him a little walker this week and he loves it. He loves to push himself backwards. He's becoming more and more independant. In some ways its good, but somwtimes I sure do miss my little cuddly baby boy. We are working with him n sitting up. Everyday he's getting better at it. David and I just love the time that we have to play with him. Whenever the weather is nice Tucker and I go for walks. This week we started putting Tucker in the stroller without his carseat. He absolutely loves it! He looks like such a big boy in it. Here is one of our FAVORITE pictures. Below is a slide-show of some of the weeks happenings. Enjoy!

President Benson's 10 Suggestions For Successful Parenting (Daily Gems)

“Thinking of the example of his own mother and that of his beloved and faithful wife, Flora, President Benson has offered ten specific suggestions for mothers as they guide their precious children:

1. Take time to always be at the crossroads in the lives of your children, whether they be six or sixteen.
2. Take time to be a real friend to your children.
3. Take time to read to your children. Remember what the poet wrote:You may have tangible wealth untold; Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold. Richer than I you can never be— I had a mother who read to me.
4. Take time to pray with your children.
5. Take time to have a meaningful weekly home evening. Make this one of your great family traditions.
6. Take time to be together at mealtimes as often as possible.
7. Take time daily to read the scriptures together as a family.
8. Take time to do things together as a family.
9. Take time to teach your children.
10. Take time to truly love your children. A mother’s unqualified love approaches Christlike love.

Big Baby = New Car Seat

My goodness gracious! Well, since Tucker has reached the point of not fitting in his new car seat we have had to bite the big one and get him a new car seat. So after much research, deliberation, and money we have chosen...

Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat in Onyx

We weren't wanting to spend an arm and a leg for a car seat. We were looking more in the range of $100 to $150 for a car seat. We actually had no intentions of buying a Britax but everyone that we talked to said that they either loved their Britax or wished they would have gotten one. And, since we got 10% on diapers.com we only paid an arm and half a leg. :) Instead of paying $279.99 we paid $251.99. So, let's just say that Tucker and his younger siblings better get some DANG good use out of this seat! :) I can't believe that Tucker is already in this big boy car seat, but that's what he is, a big boy. I will make sure and take a picture of him in his new car seat to show everyone how small he will look in it. Hopefully we will have it here by Friday. :)

1-Year Ago Today

1-Year ago today was the start of our lives changing FOREVER! It was the day that we found out we were pregnant with Tucker. I can't believe that it has been a whole year. Now that I am no longer pregnant and Tucker is 4-months old it seems like it all went by so fast. That was one of the happiest days EVER! And since then I have only added to my "happiest days" list. Pregnancy was difficult at times, but in the end I got the best reward I could have asked for... my beautiful little Tucker Mosby Mize!

It's just a shame that I had to go from this...
To This...

To Get This...
But it was all worth it because Tucker is definitely the hilight of my days! :)
One day we might have to start the process all over again (but not anytime soon, so don't go gettin' your hopes up!)

Quite The Week

This week seems like it was a very busy week. On Monday Tucker and I went down to Corvallis to visit some friends that I used to work with. He was such a good boy. Everyone could not get over how big he is and how happy he is. It was so fun to get to show him off. It makes it even better when he is in such a good mood.
Tuesday was St. Patricks Day. This is probably one of my most favorite holidays. However, this year I don't think I wore green all day. I don't know what was wrong with me. We did have our friends Brittany and Randy over with their little boy Randy. We had Corned Beef, Cabbage, Rolls, Carrots and Red Potatoes. And for dessert I made chocolate chip cookies. It was a good meal and we enjoyed hanging out with Brittany and Randy. Oh, and we played on the Wii. I think it's funny that a lot of people have a hard time with the steo aerobics. It actually proves to be quite entertaining. :)
Wednesday Tucker and I went to story time again. This week he was a little sleepy. Below is a picture of him enjoying the story time. It was fun for me to be able to get out for awhile. Brittany and I look forward to it every week. There is another little girl there who is only 4 days younger than Tucker, and about 1/2 his size. :) She's a cutie though. Her Mom and I were able to talk and compare achievements, and they are on the same track so that is good. :)
Thursday was Tucker's Dr.'s appointment. He's such a big boy. We tried Rice cereal that night and he wasn't a huge fan of it. But as the week has gone on he has gotten better with it.
Friday night we went carseat shopping. I need everyone's opinion. We have to move Tucker up to the next size carseat because he's outgrown this one. So we are wondering what carseat people think is the best. We have two that we are considering, but I want to know what everyone else thinks. We don't want to spend a fortune on it, but we want him to be safe.
Saturday evening we went to Corvallis again for dinner with Kim and Chris. We always enjoy hanging out with them. Kim is due with their 1st on my birthday, May 19th. I hope she is right on time, but Kim is hoping for an early baby. :) Either way, we are excited for Tucker to have a little friend to play with. Ofcours, it will be a few months before they can really play together. :)
Today we went to church and I taught Relief Society. My lesson was on Celestial Marriage and Eternal Famlies. It went well I think. I ofcourse bawled like a baby in true Jenn fashion. I always enjoy teaching though. And now we are resting and Tucker is napping. I got in a good 2 1/2 hour nap this afternoon and it was GREAT!
Here are some cute pictures of Tucker and His Daddy from this last week. :) Enjoy!

4-Months Old

Tucker is 4-months old today. Seriously, where has the time gone? We went to the Dr. today for a check-up and here are the results:

Weight: 21 lbs. 10 1/2 oz. 99th percentile

Height: 27 1/2 inches 99th percentile

Head: 45 centimeters 95th percentile

Yup, he's a BIG boy! The Dr. is happy though because he's all proportionate and he's healthy. Tucker has become SO mobile in the last month. He kicks his hands and legs to turn in circles. He also likes to push off the ground and arch his back to scoot backwards. He still loves bath time and his changing table. He LOVES to use his voice. He will sing and talk and now he is giggling. It's so freaking cute. Tonight we started rice cereal and he's not a huge fan of it yet, but we'll get there. I'll post a video of him eating soon. He now is confident with grabbing things with his hands and putting them in his mouth. He also likes to grab things with his feet. Since he's gotten so big, we have to go and get the next size car seat for him. CRAZY! He trys SO hard to sit up when he's lying down. He does well sitting with support so hopefully soon he'll do it on his own. He's not rolling ove yet but close. He gets up on his side and then gives up. And now during tummy time he just tries to get on his knees. He's such a funny kid.

Here is a video of him giggling. It's poor quality because I took it with my phone, but you get the idea. Enjoy the giggles!

Goals...Goals...Goals...

Alright, they say when you set a goal you need to share it with others so you can be accountable for it. So here are my two PHYSICAL goals for this year...

1) Be back to my pre-pregnancy weight by Tuckers first birthday (November 19)
2) Run the Las Vegas 10K w/ my sister-in-law in December.

So, all support is needed and welcome. I am doing the couch to 5K program to get ready for the marathon. I plan on doing some 5K's during the summer to prepare. I will keep you all posted on my progress. :)

Singing, Singing, All The Day

This picture is the epitome of Tucker's personality. Always smiling and happy and being loud... we LOVE it. He has recently started to giggle, so hopefully we'll get that on video soon. :)
This week was a good week. Tuesday Tucker and I went to the scrapbooking group with the ladies at church again. It's always fun there. It's nice for me to be able to get out and have some grown-up time. Later that evening David and Tucker hung out while I went out with some of the girls for dinner. It was the first time in awhile that I've had a girls night. I was actually able to enjoy myself, and wasn't totally worried about Tucker because I know that David can take care of him.
Wednesday Tucker and I went to story time at the Library with Brittany and Little Randy. Oh my goodness Tucker loved it. I don't think he had ever been around so many kids before. His eyes were wide and taking it all in. While they were reading the books he didn't have much of an attention span... obviously. But as soon as they started with the songs his face would light up and he loved it. Any part of the actions in the songs I could do with him he would smile so big and he loved it. So I think we are going to make that a part of our weekly routine. :)
The rest of the week was spent just hanging out and learning all sorts of new things. I can't believe how much Tucker is growing and learning. It's just crazy. We go to the Dr. on Thursday for his 4-month appointment, so next week we will have all sorts of information about Tucker's stats.
Below is a short video of Tucker's new favorite play time. It's nothing too exciting, it's just what David and I get to here all day now. This is also what he does now when he wakes up in the morning. It's hillarious to listen to him just talk to himself in his crib. I love that it's not a cry, just yelling! :)

He's a Squeeler!

Yes, Tucker has definitely discovered his voice. His latest thing is to SCREAM! He's not mad, in pain, hungry or grumpy, he just wants to yell. It was cute the first couple of times. But now... it's kind of a pain. Everyone else seems to get a kick out if though so that's fun. He is getting cuter every day. This last week he has shown a huge interest in wanting to sit up. While he's in his carseat he will strain his neck to try and sit up further, and he loves to sit up on our laps or between our legs on the floor. He has started to giggle and loves to use his hands. He is growing up so fast.

(Disclaimer: I am about to get a little mushy... BEWARE!) I was holding Tucker the other day and we were playing, making faces and cooing with each other. Then he started to get tired so I gave him his binki and cuddled him for his nap. While he was falling asleep I looked down at him and thought to myself, "One day this little boy is going to be a big boy. One day he's going to be 8-years old and getting baptised. Then he's going to be 12-years old and passing the Sacrament. And before I know it he's going to be 19-years old and leaving on a mission for 2-years. How can this be possible. I don't even like to be away from him for an hour while I go to the gym. How will I ever do 2-years." I warned you this was going to get mushy. :) But, then I think of when he was being blessed. He was surrounded by some of the most amazing men in my life. I will never be able to put into the words the awesome feeling it was to look up and see all of these strong men surrounding Tucker in that circle. They were strong physically but so much stronger spiritually. The act alone of being in the circle starts Tucker out with amazing examples. I am so grateful that Tucker has an amazing father to look to as an example as well as 2 amazing grandfathers and amazing Uncles as well. What a great opportunity I feel I have to raise this little boy to be an exceptional young man. I am SO grateful that I am able to stay at home with him and raise him. I pray that he will have a strong testimony like his parents, be a valiant young man, have strong desires to serve a mission, and return home only to be married to an amazing woman in the Temple. I have so many hopes and dreams for my little 3 1/2-month old son. He's such a light in our lives and a joy to have in our home. I can only hope and pray that David and I are able to do for him what the Lord would have me do so that he can live to his fullest potential.

Here is a picture from this last week of Tucker. I absolutely love this picture and I hope that you all can enjoy it also. :)

45-minutes of my day

Everyday Tucker and I spend at least 45-minutes of one-on-one face-to-face time. We make all sorts of faces at each other and noises to each other. In the last few days he has really started to giggle. I tried to get it on video but of course as soon as I get the camera out he doesn't giggle. But I thought I'd share a couple minutes with you. He let's out a few good squeeks and cute noises. And his smiles are, of course, as cute as ever. Enjoy!

Tucker Meets Great Grandma Sue

This last weekend David and I went up to David's parents house so that tucker cold meet David's Grandma Sue and Ernie. They live in Walla Walla, WA but came out here to visit David's parents for the weekend and meet the two new Great Grandsons. Great Grandma was so excited that Tucker is old enough to respond and smile. It made her weekend that every time she looked at him she could get him to smile.

Wii Are Going To Be Fit

David and I went on a date tonight. We started out at Circuit City to see if there was anything left worth purchasing... there was not. Then we headed over to Best Buy to look around. Can you tell who planned this date by what we did. :) I can't argue though, it was nice to get out since I was sick all last week. And it was even more nice that it was David's idea. :)

While we were at Best Buy David overheard someone asking one of the sales associates if they had any Wii Fit's in stock. Fortunately they had a few on the shelf right near David. So David was trying to be sneaky and buy it without me knowing, but I caught him in the act. I was very excited to see he found one. It's very out of character for him to buy something so pricey on a whim like that. It's more like something I would do. :) But, we have a Wii Fit now and we are both excited to use it. :) This is our tax return treat this year. Hopefully this will aid my baby weightloss goal. We'll see. :)
