Tucker’s First Beaver Football Game

This last Saturday (the 26th) David and I took Tucker to his first OSU Beaver Football game. It was so fun. I was so excited to have our own little family day at Reser Stadium.

David, Tucker and I started our weekend off with David’s parents at Olive Garden Friday night. Mmmmmm, I love me some Olive Garden. We then stayed the night at their house so they could watch Tucker for us the next morning while David and I went to the Temple. It was the first time since Tucker has been born that we’ve been able to go and do a session together at the Temple. It was so fantastic and I can’t wait to go with David again. After the Temple we went and had lunch with David’s parents at their house and then headed down to Corvallis.

The trip down to Corvallis was perfect. There was hardly any traffic, and Tucker slept the whole time so David and I were able to talk and enjoy each others company. It’s not too often that we have time to just sit and enjoy each other, so it was nice to be in the car with quiet time during Tucker’s nap.

Once we got into Corvallis traffic was a little thicker seeing as everyone was going to the game. We parked at the institute and walked down to the stadium. We took a small detour and walked through the Memorial Union building where David worked while he was in school. Tucker was SO Cute with his little Jersey on, and of course he was flirting with every girl that walked past him. He was on either my shoulders or David’s shoulders while we were walking and he would almost break his neck to look at all of the people. Once we were in the stadium, it was so cute to see Tucker look at EVERYTHING and dance to the music. He wanted to get down and walk everywhere, but with so many people he was so limited. Once we got to our seats we let him walk around for awhile. We had a really good view, our seats were on the 30-yard line and 11-rows up. I got the tickets for free on Craigslist, and all I had to do was schedule a Jewelry party. :)

When the game started Tucker was all about all of the excitement. He would yell when everyone else yelled, and he would clap. It was so cute! He was fantastic until the JERK behind us got there. This was guy was so horrible. Yelling is one thing, but when you are yelling louder than EVERYONE else and you are yelling such horrible obscenities, it just ruins it for everyone. Tucker would start crying every time this guy yelled and it was so frustrating. At one point I took Tucker out to walk around and he loved that, when we went back in he was OK for awhile. Then right before half-time I notice that his pants were SOPPING wet with pee. (Ooopps!) So I took him and changed his diaper and got some snacks. During half time he loved dancing and playing, and even for a short time during the 3rd quarter he was in a good mood until that IDIOT behind us came back. It got so bad that I just caved in and took Tucker back to the car about 1/2 way through the 3rd quarter. Once we got to the car he crashed out for awhile and I just drove around. David finished the game out because I insisted and he was able to enjoy himself, so that made me happy.

Even though the Beavers lost, it was a FANTASTIC day! I loved spending time with my 2-boys and hope that we can do a fun day like this again soon. Here are some pictures from the game…

(for journaling purposes) There was one hitch in the day.  The lady we got the tickets from is a season ticket holder. Her pack of tickets were stolen out of her mailbox so she had to file a police report and request duplicate tickets from OSU. Well, the person who stole her tickets sold them to someone who bought them online for $160.00… and they showed up about 45-minutes after we got there. It was so awkward until a friend of our season ticket holder showed up and explained the situation. It was so unfortunate for the other people, but David and I were sure glad that we got there first.

10-MONTHS OLD… HOLY CRAP!

WOW! Where has the time gone… I can’t believe that my baby boy is into the double digits now. So crazy!

Tucker is growing more and more every day. He is developing so much in ever way.

* He started walking this last week, which is SUPER exciting. He looks so cute as he stumbles around.

* He says Dadda ALL THE TIME, and he loves to say HI to anyone and everyone.

* When little kids are around Tucker gets so excited. He loves to watch them and play with them. He is getting bigger and bigger by the day. It is nice because we know that he is so healthy but it does have his downfalls. Whenever he plays with other little kids they think that he should be able to do more things and are confused when they throw the ball at him and he just stares at it. They also don’t understand why he doesn’t run after them. One day they’ll understand. :)

* He is more and more daring. As he is still learning to walk, he is more willing to turn and just walk towards the middle of the room with nothing to grasp.

* He is learning to do “touchdown”. Sometimes he’ll do it really well, and other times he’ll just laugh at us while we do it.

* Child-proofing things do nothing for him. He knows how to get our gate down, and open our tv cabinet. He’s too smart for his own good.

* His hair is growing in so much. It’s the cutest shade of light brown with some red hues to it. My brothers had hair like this when they were younger, and now it is dark, so it looks like we’re going to have a tall, dark and handsome son! :)

Here is the official video. TUCKER IS WALKING! It's so dang cute! This was taken yesterday afternoon. While we were in California (see post below) he started taking a few steps here and there, but this is definitely walking. :)

2-weeks of fun in California

Tucker and I got to spend the first 2-weeks of September in California with my family. The main reason I was there was to babysit my niece Cali and my nephew Sam, while their parents went on a trip to South America. The end of result of babysitting… I still want to have 3-kids… AND… I like the 27-month age difference. So we’ll see what comes of that. :)

First and foremost Tucker was SO excited to see…

California Trip (58)

We had a blast spending time with family. We spent a few days with Tory (Mike’s wife) and the girls. I got a cute picture of Tucker with his cousin Katherine…

California Trip (43) On Labor day we went to Mike and Tory’s to swim and hang out some more with the family. Taylor had outgrown her floating thing, so Tucker was able to use it. At first he wasn’t happy, but once he got used to the water he LOVED it. We played in the pool for about 40-minutes, and then I got concerned about his fair skin in the sun, so we then played in the shade. Here’s a couple cute ones of Tucker, Taylor and I in the pool…

California Trip (48) California Trip (46) One of the days we were there I was able to see my friend Allison. I haven’t seen Allison since my reception here in Portland. Since then we have both had a kid. So it was fun to meet her Son and have her meet Tucker. Here’s a picture of the 4 of us…

California Trip (39)We also spent a lot of time with my Grandma Bailey. I was able to help my Mom get my Grandma moved from her Retirement Home to and Assisted Living Facility. It was a rough few days trying to get it all done, but we finally got her safely into her new home and settled. She is doing so much better. I got a super cute picture of Tucker with his Great Grandma Bailey…

California Trip (49)   California Trip (50)

We were able to spend lots of time with My Mom, and it was so much fun. Tucker LOVES his cousin Cali. They got to spend almost every day together while we were in California. So I wanted to be sure and get some cute pictures of them. So here goes…

We had so much fun in California and can’t wait to go back and visit again. I forgot to take pictures of everything, but I’m getting better. While we were there we were also able to see my friend Jamie and her new baby boy Noah. He is dang cute. And, we were able to have lunch with Amber and her 2-youngest boys. It’s always nice to get together with Amber. No matter how long it’s been, we can always pick up like we saw each other last week. I enjoyed lunch with my co-workers from Dr. Holt’s office, they are so much fun! Tucker had a BLAST crawling around in the back of church with Carson Routsong, while Kristy and I stood by and watched like 2-proud little Mommy’s. :)

For all of the friends that we weren’t able to see, I am sorry. My Mom really needed my help with my Grandma, and I wanted to be there for both of them. David and I will be in California over Christmas time, so let’s get together then. :)
