i had a 6 month old shoot today and emmy wanted to play my assistant. she was so good at giving the t man his binky when she thought he needed it. thought being the key word there. i love this little girl. i hope she grows up and finds something creative that she loves to do.

my friend jolene called me this morning to ask if i were home so she could bring me a treat. i said i would be home this afternoon and to stop by.

jolene knows me well.. i can tell because she brought me a bag of precooked bacon. all i have to do is put it in the microwave. does it get any better?

i have the best friends.

when i said one month, i meant two weeks. its been crazy over here. seriously.

part of the crazy has been finishing my site. it's done. (for the most part, the blog is still a bit of a work in progress)

she has been my favorite from the beginning.. i am about half way through tonight's episode.. please oh please just ask her to marry you now.

we had such a great valentines day. i'll post about me and the hubby's tomorrow, but i wanted to update all of you on the charlie and emmy love story.

i love the internet for lots of different reasons, i especially love when talented people share their stuff with you. and love it even more when they share it for free. i found these cute boxes on one of my favorite blogs, so em and i decided to use them to give out to her friends. the box says "a little pie for the apple of my eye". we filled them with mini apple pies and delivered them in brown bags with home made heart clips. we had made a lot more to give out, but when i left them in a container over night they went soft. so i didn't want to hand them out. sorry to all of the neighbors who never got their treats. my bad.


we had breakfast in the morning then went on over to charlies to deliver his pie and special valentine. he definitely enjoyed his pie. as soon as nora pulled it out of the box he started yelling "pie, pie pie!" it was hilarious.


charlie gave emmy a sweet little book and a handmade card with a poem in it. this is how the poem went.

everytime i turn the corner i love running to your house. i can hear you giggling to the tune of mickey mouse.

then i run inside and we stand by the tv. we sing and dance to 'hot dog', like the worlds just you and me.

along with the apple pie, we threw together a little slide show of the two of them that she gave him as well. totally nothing technical but thought it would be a nice touch. i love the fact that these two are so close and love each other so much.

so obviously i was really busy with enrichment the last few weeks. so i thought i would finally post some pictures.

our theme was "a night of 'purse'-onal enrichment"
it was the week of valentines day so we thought it was fitting to decorate all girlie and that the theme would flow with that.



we had a purse weigh in, had a special raffle for people who showed up on time, had a purse scavenger hunt, and a really great speaker. she definitely made me look at myself and re-evaluate. it was great.

the weeks leading up to the night were the ones that were so daunting. i made peronal purse invitations for all the sisters in the ward that went out two sundays before, then the week of i made handouts for both the sisters and their husbands. my goal this year is to get attendance up for our quarterly gatherings. besides our christmas program, its definitely not attended as well as we would hope for. all the handouts and invitation reminders paid off. our secretary says that we had just as many, if not more then christmas! thanks to all the ladies that came to enjoy the night with us. i thought it was a blast!

Tomorrow will come with multiple updates. to make up for the lack thereof these last couple.but hey, it's been a holiday. Thank you very much.

i get the day off from blogging. i'm on a date with my hubby. sans emmy. first time in a long time.

today em and i went to meet baker for lunch at our favorite burger joint. it was a special treat because we don't get to see him that much since he started working in los angeles. his lunch date fell through so we were really excited when he called to invite us.

although emmy fell asleep on the way there, as you can see in the pictures she was ecstatic hanging out with her dad.

as a side note these were taken from my iphone.. obviously the quality is sub par.

and i have a logo to prove it.


thanks to michelle and all her hard work. sorry if i am a terrible client and can't make up my mind. who would have thought that i could drag out a logo that long.

as a side note my site will be ready to launch i am hoping by lovey love day. watch for an announcement. i'm super excited to finally be ready.

as previously mentioned, i have been busy. i think it has finally gotten to my baker. after i got home last night from setting up at the church i went to the fridge to find it empty. baker had gone through and thrown out all the leftovers that have been sitting in there for awhile, and a handful of other things that have gone bad. wow. maybe i should feed my husband. i get the hint baker.


but have no fear, we have plenty of dressing and condiments to go around.

i need to take today to apologize. to my friends and family who have been emailing, calling, sending text messages, snail mailing, telegramming, and just trying to get in contact with me... i promise after tomorrow i will be all yours.

i have a newer calling at church, and it's taking up quite a bit of my time. it will all be over tomorrow and i will be back to myself. seriously this enrichment has been a doosy, but we decorated tonight and i am pleasantly pleased with the outcome. i will just be glad when it is all over.

btw, did you know you can get a paper cut from tissue paper? yeah, i thought that stuff was too thin and too soft to hurt like that. wow.

as much as i should be getting back to all my phone calls and emails right now, i am going to snuggle up with my DP and favorite blanket and watch the bachelor.. he better send naomi home.

we have been having a little problem with emmy. i don't know if it is the fact that i hang out with her all day every day, or if she just really really likes me, but i think the problem was starting to get to baker.

emmy can clearly say a lot of words. like car, teeth, nose, bye and a handful of others. these others include mom and dad. simple enough right? yeah not so much. nearly everyday that baker is at work we practice our words and names by looking at pictures (including those of our family) and say their names or what it is. we play that game, or we play the "emmy say teeth (or other word here)"... so she says it game.

easy enough

me: "emmy say dad"
em: "dad"

me: pointing to the picture of baker "emmy who is that?"
em: "mom"
me: "no emmy that isn't mom that is dad. say dad"
em: "mom"

clearly she likes me. as she should. but i also know that she likes baker, but for some reason she loves to call him mom.

he walks in the door from work and she gets so excited and immediately yells "mom".. i kindly remind her "thats not mom, that is dad". she continues with a louder "mom" and a bigger smile on her face. i think she has started to do it knowing how much it frustrates us.

in an attempt to get on her good side, baker took her on a daddy daughter date this morning to ruby's on the pier. yes it was raining all morning but nothing i said would get him to change his mind. he didn't even take an umbrella. she ate french toast with syrup and he even gave her her own side of whip cream.. i think it worked.

seriously? is it really going to be one of those days?

it's 10:30 and m is already down for a nap. rarely does that happen before 12:30 any given day. but she had to, for my sake.

today started out like any other day, em wakes up in the 7 o'clock hour, we snuggle in bed and watch sesame street, then i hopped in the shower. after i got out i went to the kitchen to make her breakfast. pancakes, bananas, and chocolate milk. (you should know that they were frozen, and i only added chocolate because she refuses to drink milk. in fact she still didn't drink with the chocolate).

when i went back to get her i found her in her pajamas, feet first sitting in the toilet bowl. what? who does that? i ran as fast as i could to get my camera, but i think my initial gasp scared her right out of there.. she was out before i could even get back.

i strip her, change her diaper and we eat breakfast. together. at her table.

i then go to my bathroom to clean up the mess, and when i come out i found her diaperless sitting on our ottoman in a puddle of urine. her own. obviously. wow.

what could possibly go wrong next?

i figured i should get her fully dressed so she doesn't have the opportunity to strip for the world again. so once she was dressed, i went to the back to dress myself. i was gone less then two minutes. when i came back, the door was open and she was missing. she can obviously turn the knob and everything now, cause out she was.

my first thought was.. holy crap i hope the gate to the pool is closed and those punk kids in the complex in front of us didn't leave it propped open again. i run to the pool, not there. i run to charlies house, not there. i run to the doggy house, not there. where in the world? the dumpster. why oh why would you ever go to the dumpster?

after a few minutes of calming down, i got her ready for her valentines pictures. so not cooperating. she managed to rip up three of my props, pull down the entire curtain rod, and smash mommy's camera into my face.

somebody was not a happy camper, so somebody went to her room to go to bed. early.

i don't know if i will make it through the day when she wakes up. any takers?

rebecca and the girls have been requesting more dance videos. i did my best with this one, but she was more looking for the flash. enjoy it friends. and if you can't understand her, she is saying "cheese" for the camera.

did anyone else go and get a free grand slam today from denny's? i am always up for a free meal so i told the kochs about it and we headed out there. the line wasn't terrible considering the circumstances, but the service was ter-ri-ble. she totally forgot about us, and i had to ask if she was going to take our order. wow. but it was still worth it.

emmy and charlie were lovin on eachother while we waited. i really can't wait for those kids to get big and really love eachother. they are a match made in heaven.



we even ordered a grand slam for both the kiddos. it was so cute to see them so proud to be eating their own big kid meal.




thank you denny's for the fabulous free breakfast.. bad service or not it was worth it!

a few months ago as we were driving to pick up bakers bib number for the long beach half marathon he said these words to me: "i really have no desire to run a full marathon, i don't know how people do it".

two days later he was on the computer signing up for the huntington beach marathon. the full. the big cheese, the whole shebang. 26.2 miles. wow.

yesterday was the day, and i couldn't be more proud of him. he succeeded all expectations, and pretty much owned the streets of huntington beach for just the few minutes over four hours that it took him.



we first saw him around mile 14, and he was happy as a clam. giving huge smiles and the thumbs up. em was in heaven seeing her dad. she held her sign and yelled "go go go!" as he ran by.




most of baker's family came down to support him. i think that was the best part of all for him. he had been training as hard as he could for this race and for them to come just to see him run really made his day. thanks again guys! i'll blog about the rest of our weekend tomorrow.



i really can't tell you what it felt like to see him run across the finish line. you could see in his face all it took and how happy he was to be done. it seriously was the coolest thing to see and i was so proud of him for doing it.



we had a couple pictures of em, but she wasn't having it, so this shot of bake and i will have to do for the family post marathon picture. too bad i am so pregnant right?

i guess this one was really the whole group.. it's rare that i am in front of the camera, and not behind it.



while we were waiting for the shuttle to take us back to the car bake was sitting here stretching.. had he known what he was going to feel like today, the day after, he might have reconsidered doing it altogether. just kidding.

we did drive away him saying "i did it, check it off my list, i'll probably never do it again." 5 bucks says he'll be searching the world wide web this weekend looking for another race to register for.

so remember last year when i made a goal to blog everyday for a month? well that month was february, so i am bringing it back. this month i am going to blog at least once a day.

we have had family in town all weekend, so i am picking up the pieces around the house, and baker had his big race today, which i am planning on blogging about tomorrow so for today you get this great announcement. i guess i can include a picture or two of sis.
