2012: A Bloggin Year
It's the start of a new year, and Sean will start his externship on Tuesday. Sean left on Thursday at 3 am, and arrived in Phoenix at 8 pm Friday. We miss him already, but luckily we have video chat. Skype hasn't been working so we switched to Google. It has made all the difference. Video chat is sooooo much easier. We were able to chat today for about 45 minutes before the kids and I left for church. Ryan likes it because he can see himself in the little square in the bottom right hand corner. He's a goob.
The kids go back to school on Tuesday. They are already gearing up for the big move home. They are counting down the days until their last day of school here. March 30th!!! They are however looking forward to all the snowdays they'll get that they won't have to make up at the end of the school year.
The boys have been reading, well, Ryan has been reading. He's really into the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. He's on book 2, Rodrick Rules. He's almost done now. Logan is attempting Eragon. He's been preoccupied with video games all winter break.
Logan also shot up 2 inches over winter break. I'm gonna have a hard time keeping that kid in clothes. I just measured him at 5'4"!!!

Family Update
Sean: He is almost done with school. In September he will be starting his last term of classes. In January he will begin his externship. He's done excellent in school and can't wait to finish.
Logan: He's going into the 5th grade this year. I can't believe my baby is the big kid in school. He made the school's honor roll 3 out of 4 quarters. He still loves video games and LOVES to talk about the all the time. He does like to read and is currently reading John Grisham's kid lawyer books.
Ryan: He'll be in 2nd grade this year. He's being placed in the 2nd/3rd grade split class with his best friend. He received straight A's the entire year and never once got into trouble. His favorite thing to do this year is draw comic books and try to read books that are too hard for him. He's silly.
Me: Nothing grand here. I can't wait for Sean to be done with school so we can go home. I miss the Las Vegas heat in the summer and the brown winters. I miss driving at night and being able to see everything. I miss it being 100 degrees at 10pm. I miss the culture most of all.
The pets: Yoda joined us on the last day of September 2010. He is the cutest pain in the butt. His favorite pasttime is bugging Bell, and if she's not available then Waffle. Bell is super patient with Yoda. She acts more like an exasperated mom than a sister. Waffle is still the antisocial cat he's always been. Luckily he tolerates Yoda's pestering as well.

An Ambulance....w/ Personalized Plates?
I'm all for personalized license plates. I mean if you have the money and a cause, go for it. If you want to advertise that you are a proud parent, that's cool. I always enjoy trying to figure out the strange lettered ones. Now you can surely imagine my surprise when I saw this one...
(In case you can't read it, it says "MEATBOX")

Camping Trip With A Parting Gift
We arrived Friday evening for an overnight camping trip. We've been trying to go camping since we moved to Michigan. The property we were on was gorgeous! We were surrounded by trees, having immediate access to a pond stocked with bass.
Ryan's very first cast resulted in the WHOPPER!!!
Logan finally got his first fish the next day. He ended up catching 4 fish! One of the fish ended up bringing a snapping turtle in with it. We lost the lure and fish after a full minute of Momma battling the turtle at the bank. She didn't want the turtle to get hurt by the hooks. Here's hoping the turtle doesn't get a massive tummy ache.
Sonny, the owner of the property, even left a quad with us to play with. Pictured is (L to R) Sean, Jordan, Miles, Vance, Ryan, Logan, and Mason.
Physics + Morris Code = Sean getting his leg run over by the quad's 2 right side tires.
We called 911 and 10 vehicles (I counted) responded. We were told later that the entire town knew what had happened before the paramedics arrived.
Sean is home now. Guess who's going to be spoiled for the next few weeks!Monday, August 2, 2010
Very Insightful...
Logan said that getting cut a lot would hurt. Sean then told him about the Chinese death of a thousand cuts. And he looked at Sean and said, "Oh Man! That would take like a thousand band-aids to make you feel better!"

Logan's Dive
It always amazes me how anyone can show Logan how to do something one time and he can do it well after just a couple of tries.
