Bedtime on Christmas

A conversation with Ryan at 9pm Christmas night:

Sean: Ok, guys, it's time for bed.
Ryan: (Comes into our bedroom crying)
Sean: Why are you crying?
Ryan: Cuz, Christmas is over.
Sean: Christmas will come again. Plus, New Year's Eve is next week.
Ryan: (still crying) Nu-uh, this was the best day of my life!

We did good, real good.

YAY! First Term Finals Are Done!

After 15 weeks of pure hell, Sean is done with his first term of Law School. Sure it kicked his bum, but it was worth it. He worked hard all term long so that he'd do well on his finals. I think he rocked all of them, but he is being modest. We will find out his grades by February 2nd. One of the Professors is going to have the grades in before Christmas.

So, what did I learn this term? Well, I learned that I saw him a lot more than I thought I would. I must have expected the worst, like never, ever seeing him ever. I also learned a lot about Contract Law, Criminal Law, and Torts, of which I understood some of what he was explaining. Now Property Law was like he was reading to me out of a computer manual. BORING!! We had some pretty funny Contract debates in the home. I always won, but he most likely would have won if I hadn't been the judge, too.

It's nice to have him home for a couple of weeks. One week off, but the second it reserved for starting the second terms' homework.

Snowball Fights and Snow Angels

We got a good 2 1/2 inches of snow last night.
Perfect amount for a little snowball fight.
Even Daddy got in on it.

With the snowball fight winding down, it was time to beautify the front yard...

With Snow Angels!

Daddy had the opportunity to teach the boys how to do their first Snow Angels.

Santa's Cookies

Cookie making with the Coker Clan was so fun.
Especially when a certain two *cough* Zach & Lindsay
Forgot to add an integral ingredient to the dough.
Hello Flour.
Ryan enjoyed rolling and cutting
Cookies with Jordan and Lindsay.
He was COVERED in flour.
He's definitely chef material.
Louie (one of the Coker dogs) is now friends with Ryan.
Ryan accidently kept dropping cookie dough on the floor,
And Louie, being a good doggie, kept it cleaned up.
We listened to music,
And laughed a lot.
And during the cookie cutting process,
Where was Logan?
Playing on the "Nintendo Entertainment System."
Logan doesn't call it an NES.
We managed to pull Logan out.
He decorated four cookies,
Of which he ate one.
Ryan on the other hand,
Had a blast decorating and ended up
Decorating 14 cookies, eating none.
"Cuz, they're for Santa"
That Santa is a lucky fella!

Tonsil/Scope Day

Ryan and Joshua (the frog)
Are getting ready.
Only a few more minutes,
And those big tonsils will be gone.

After the surgery, Ryan says,
"All the ice cream in the world
Is NOT worth the pain!!"
Poor kid.
On a side note, the real reasons we were doing this for Ryan was to first, help him with his sleep apnea, and second, to figure out what was going on with his trachea closing off. We discovered that his vocal cords have not been working as they should. It is called Paradoxical Vocal Cord Dysfunction. It is commonly masked as Allergies, Asthma, and Croup, and we'd been told he had them all. The classic sign is a pulmonary test that shows his breathing was actually worse with the albuterol. This classic sign showed itself back at the beginning of November. Thank goodness we know what it is now, and hopefully how to help him better.

Letters To Santa

All We Want For Christmas Is....

Cuz the other four "OLD" Lightsabers
