The Mulkey Family

At 10 1/2 months old, Jackson has gotten his first diaper rash. And it is horrible. He never wakes up with a poopy diaper but this morning he did so who knows how long he had been sleeping in that nastiness. Every time I changed him today he screamed bloody murder...I feel so sorry for him and his red, raw little tushy. Any suggestions for healing a diaper rash would be much appreciated.

This past weekend was our trip to Austin and I have to say it was a very enjoyable weekend. The wedding was beautiful and Garrett & I got to spend alot of quality time together which was much needed. After about 6 phone calls a day to my mother checking on Jackson we made it back home on Sunday and of course he was still in one piece :) Thank you so much mom for making it possible for us to get away and for taking such wonderful care of my sweet boy! (And for putting up with my nagging check-ins) On Sunday we headed to the lake to spend father's day with Garrett's family. Unfortunately I was unable to see my dad on father's day, but I want everyone to know what a kind, generous person my father is. Without his love and support and putting up with my many shenanigans throughout the years, I would not be where I am today. Dad, I love you more than you could ever possibly know....I hope Jackson grows up to be an amazing dad like you!! Garrett was able to spend his first father's day with his dad and with his little boy, so I know that he enjoyed his day very much. Throughout all of the ups and downs that life hands us, I know that I can always count on Garrett to be the best father to Jackson that he can possibly be. He works so hard every day to provide the best for us and is always the first to make sure Jackson is smiling, and I could not ask for more. Thank you Garrett for your unending love and support and for being such a great dad!!

This weekend Garrett & I will be heading to Austin for a wedding and we decided to make it a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary and also to just get away. My mother is coming in town to watch Jackson and I am so excited for her to be able to spend time with him. Although, I have to say that I am a bit nervous because I want everything to go smoothly for her. Jackson is such a handful right now and I know he is going to wear out his Nana!! I am also afraid that I will miss him terribly and not be able to enjoy my weekend alone with Garrett. I know everything will be ok and I know that he is in wonderful hands with my Mom, but since this is my first time to leave him I guess I just don't know what to expect. I left my mom a detailed schedule of Jackson's daily routine. I don't know why I am being so anal about it, I mean my mother raised three children so I am pretty sure she knows what she is doing. I even left her instructions for washing his bottles....really???? Thanks so much mom for watching little J...I know you guys will have a great time!!!

Yesterday Garrett took the day off so that he could help his dad on some projects out at the Lakehouse so Jackson & I decided to go enjoy the pretty day too. We spent most of the day outside in Jackson's pool (which he LOVES) watching him make hilarious old man faces at us. Unfortunately, there was a huge hail storm last night at Lake Granbury. Garrett & I both had our cars out there and they both got destroyed by the golf ball sized hail. It even cracked my windshield....soooooo we are both a little frustrated but at least we were all safe which is really all that matters....it was pretty scary!! Jackson also turned 10 months old yesterday and I will post his monthly chair picture.

Jackson has become a fast little stinker in his super short, almost 2 week long crawling lifetime.

Not much has been going on here lately...our weekends are full pretty much until September, but during the week Jackson and I have nothing to do. So Friday I decided we should at least spend some time enjoying the nice weather. Jackson, Bell & I sat in the backyard for a while and I got some good pictures. Jackson's latest thing is to make this squished up face pretty much all day every day...it is hysterical. He also loves to be naked and so usually before his bath time I let him crawl around naked for a while because I know it must be so uncomfortable being in a diaper all day. So I took a picture of him naked while he scoped out his red wagon...what a cute tushy!!
