Ella had to do a school project for her 100th day of school... and she chose 100 gumballs. So we made a gumball machine and she glued on 100 “gumballs.”

100th day of school
Big helper
How cute are these two!! For a joke I told Ella to brush her brothers teeth this morning and they both thought it was a great idea!!! I’m not gonna argue with that!

Ella’s first tooth fell out
I remember the day when my beautiful baby girl got her first tooth. Such an exciting day that was.
Flash forward to 5 years later and she has lost her first baby tooth. Such an exciting day again, yet a little sad for this momma. It seems I keep trying to slow down time. Always so thankful for every moment I get with my kids, I just wish they weren’t happening so fast. They are growing so fast right before my eyes, and I treasure every memory made.
Ella was so excited and a little shocked today when her tooth after days and days of being extremely loose finally fell out. She cleaned it and placed it inside her tooth fairy pillow and placed it under her pillow. She even read her tooth fairy book to her brother at bedtime just to go over what will happen once she falls asleep. I love that she couldn’t wait to go to sleep to make sure the tooth fairy didn’t skip her house. I love that she told her brother if he went to bed early too she would share whatever the tooth fairy brings her. I love that right before she fell asleep she told me she was going to sleep with her mouth open so the tooth fairy would see her missing tooth and know that it was her that had lost a tooth. I love that she asked me to crate the dogs so that they didn’t get a hold of the tooth fairy, which happens often according to the book she read tonight.
I cannot wait to wake up tomorrow and see what the tooth fairy brings her! I hear the first tooth is a very generous gift!

soccer time
It has been so beautiful outside, it is hard to believe it is February. My dad and I took Jacob to the park last week and enjoyed the playground. Afterwards Grandpa and Jacob enjoyed a game of soccer. Grandpa is the best!
100th day of school
How can it be that Ella has already been in Kindergarten for over 100 days?!! I need to slow down time; it is going by way too fast! My firstborn is growing up too quickly!
For the 100th day of school Ella had to make an art project with 100 items on it. She chose a gumball machine with 100 “gumballs” pom poms glued on.
Jacob wanted in on the fun too, so Grandpa and him made their own gumball machine.

Leg holds
Ella needs to hold her leg in the air for 8 seconds for one of her competition dances... She has been working so hard on it for the last 2 weeks. She is not quite there, but I have total faith in her that she will get it! Ella loves to pretend she is a teacher and that Jacob is her student. She always makes him try her dance moves.
My very own bunny rabbit
Positive Playground Award
Last week Ella and three of her friends at school each received a positive playground award because they were playing so nicely together at recess. Ella was thrilled! Their reward was going to the principles office and picking out a prize. Ella picked a smencil...an orange scented pencil. She couldn’t wait to show me at pickup-she was beaming from ear to ear! I love how excited she was for being recognized for her positive behavior.

Who’s got spirit?!
Last week Ella had another spirit day at her school and their class dressed up in 80’s gear. I would say this little beauty rocked the 80’s look!
I love the 80’s and had a little too much fun shopping for her outfit. :)
How I love this girl.
A Night To Remember
Yesterday Ella had her 1st Father/Daughter dance at her school. What a special, memorable experience for her that I know I will keep hearing about for days to come!
We started off her special day by getting our nails done with Jaimie and Mackenzie. Ella loved every minute - she chose pink nails to match her pink dress.
After nails we picked up her corsage and Vincent’s boutonniere. Once again, pink!
Then off to the hair salon for dancing hair. We went through a ton of pictures until Ella picked out the “must have” hairdo. Half up into a hair bow and then the rest in curls. She was in her glory. She LOVED her hair!
Then off to the dance-Vincent in his “Prince suit” as Ella kept calling it, and Ella in her pink dress, went to the school dance and then to dinner with a few of our wonderful friends. Definitely a night to remember! When they got home Ella told me all about it... how they played a lot of her favorite songs... Katy Perry's, Firework... etc. How she got to dance with all of her friends; how her favorite part was dancing with her daddy; how at dinner she had “so much fun with her girlfriends”; how some girls wore high heels and that she thinks next time she will choose high heels to wear as well; how it “was so cool and she CANNOT WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN.”... Basically she was all smiles and was in complete happiness. Moments like these are what life is about. Seeing how beautiful life is and watching her take in every moment!

Monarch Butterfly Preserve
Last Saturday, Vincent and I took the kids to the Monarch Butterfly Preserve in Goleta, CA. What a beautiful, peaceful place to visit. In the months of December, January and February hundreds and hundreds of Monarch butterflies group together at this butterfly preserve. There are trails and paths to hike through; all with the most beautiful views. One paths leads to overlooking the ocean. We stopped here to watch dolphins playing in the water.
This is the second year I have taken Ella and Jacob here. I am hoping to make it an annual tradition. Last year we saw tons of butterflies flying around. This year we only saw a couple, but it was still an amazing trip. The kids both loved walking through the trails. But next year I must remember to go on a sunny day. When the sun is out, the butterflies are flying all over... however, when it is overcast the butterflies are nestled up to each other on the trees’. They blend into the leaves, so unless you knew to look for them up in the trees, you would have no idea there were hundreds of butterflies just above your head.
