Over summer Matthew got sick and had a persistent fever for over a week... well finally his fever broke and a rash appeared on his cute body so we realized he had roseola. Sweet boy was smiling through it all.

New York girls trip!

Ella and I took a girls trip to New York City this summer to visit my sister Christi and throw her a baby shower. It was one of the most amazing trips that I will forever treasure! I love getting quality one on one time with each of my kids. But it is very rare we get this time. This trip reminded me how special this time is and I have decided to do this once a year with each kid. (Get ready Jacob, you’re up next!!)

The trip started off with a red eye flight arriving into NYC on Friday morning. I think this was my first flight in 7 years that I was able to take a nap and relax! The last 7 years I have always had a baby traveling with me so I was busy nonstop on the plane keeping the littles happy and comfortable. Ella and I cuddled on the plane and just enjoyed eachother’s company. It was great. Once in New York we headed to Manhatten to my sisters apartment. My mom and Nani were also there for the shower and Ella melted into all of their arms the second we walked into Christi’s place. I took a much needed nap while Ella, Christi, Nani and my mom finished getting ready for the baby shower. After my nap we headed to lunch in Central Park followed by a horse and carriage ride around the park. Ella was so excited to ride in the carriage! But the excitement didn’t end there, we headed off to watch Cinderella on Broadway to end the evening! My sister got us amazing seats and I think Ella’s jaw was on the floor the entire show. :) I wish I had a picture of her face while she was watching Cinderella. She was in awe and was literally mesmorized by all the beauty and excitement of watching a Broadway show.
The next day Stacy, my childhood friend since 3rd grade came in for Christi’s shower! Stacy and I went to school together, college together and moved out to Los Angeles together! It was so wonderful seeing her!!! Oh how I have missed her! The baby shower was Saturday so we spent almost the entire day at the shower. It was perfect. My sister seriously has the most amazing friends and it was so great getting to spend time with them. Ella was in heaven. She had her fancy dress, purse and lipstick on and loved mingling with all the ladies. My sister is my world so to be able to help throw her a baby shower to celebrate her baby girl meant the world to me.. and to have my daughter with made it even more meaningful. I’m not sure who is more excited for this little girl’s arrival... Ella or me. Ella is over the moon excited to finally have a cousin! I am over the moon that “my person” is having a little girl that I have already fallen in love with! And can I add that my sister is the most gorgeous pregnant lady I know!
Our last day in NY we only had a few hours so we walked around the city and then had to catch a taxi to head back to LA. Ella fell in love with New York and had a vacation she will treasure always. Even though it went by too fast, it was a perfect vacation and I look forward to our next visit when we finally get to meet the newest princess of the family!!!

Back to School Night and Jacob’s 1st day of Pre-K!

Jacob had his back to school night last week and we got to find out who his teachers were and what kids were in his class this year. Jacob ended up getting the same amazing teachers this year whom he had last year. Miss Debbie and Miss Erin; both incredible teachers that Jacob adores! We also found out that he has a few of his same friends in this class. Very happy about that.

Jacob’s 1st day of Pre-K went wonderful! No tears and he walked right in. Ella hadn’t started school yet so she was able to go with us and hang out with him in his class for 15 minutes which I think helped him settle. It has been a full week of school and still no tears! Big difference from drop off last year. Our sweet boy is growing up before my eyes and becoming braver and more independent each day. Love him to pieces!!

SuperHeroes and Social Skills

Ella enrolled in a 2 week theater camp this summer and has officially been bitten by the acting bug. Everyday when I would pick her up for class she would be beaming and couldn’t wait to fill me in on all the exciting things they did and all the new friends she met. Her three friends Emma, Milania and Geneva also attended the camp. At the end of her camp they put on a show called, Super Heroes and Social Skills. Cutest show ever! I loved watching Ella on stage with her big smile and beaming blue eyes. I have some adorable videos that I will try to post. Thank you to Ella’s friend Aubrey for coming to watch Ella on stage!!!
