California days 4&5

I combined days 4 & 5. On day 4, we left the park around 4:00 and went back to the hotel to go swimming. We were hot and a little tired, and it was a nice break.

We were able to get into disneyland "early" for the magic morning. The employee's were lined on the streets with giant mickey hands to give us high fives. I thought that was a fun touch. (no pun intended...)

Chip and Dale's house in toonland.

Brinly LOVED Minnie's house. It was closed for a little while, and it was killing her. When it finally opened, she couldn't wait to go inside.

This is where you could meet minnie. We just missed her, but thought we'd use the photo op anyway.

The house was completely kid-friendly.  A lot of people just walked through it, like it was a parde-of-homes home. Not Brinly, she touched, turned, opened, pulled, and discovered a few suprises on the way. The oven bakes and frosts a cake before your eyes, and the dishwasher washes dishes when it's turned on, are a few examples.

She did not want to leave and would have moved right in with Minnie.

The wait for Mickey was the longest and hottest. We were about 5 people away from meeting him when he had to go take a break and cool off for a few minutes.

Car Land was indeed as awesome as everyone says. My dad raved about the scenery, and it was pretty incredible.

We thought these cactuses were cool looking!

The kids were able to go on the ride 3 times. When we first got in to the park, there was a HUGE line to get fast passes for the ride. Dan got in line, and the kids and I went to wait in stand by. I also grabbed a fast pass so Dan could go on it a second time with another kid. The wait was only 30 minutes too!

I loved this water fall at the beginning of the ride. They had you turn a bend and go through some trees which opened up to this sight...coordinated with the music. It gave me goose bumps every time!

My hair band had just fallen out. I'm the hairy one in the middle of the back :) The extra ladies in the car were from Yakima.  Small world...again.

The whole town felt and looked just like the movie.

This was mater's petting zoo. :)

Tyler was a champ, and took some great naps in the stroller. On day 2, we discovered our stroller had a flat tire in the front, so we had to push him "wheelie" style.
Seriously. Is there ANYTHING more precious than a sleeping baby?!

The Toy story ride was also super fun. I would have loved to on it again, but this had the longest wait time of 40 minutes, and that was just too long for our spoiled-no-wait-in-line-selves.

Through the ride you played a bunch of digital carnival games, like the ring toss, dart throw, etc.

Look how competitive this gal is!

Mr. Potatoe head stood out front and told jokes while you waited in line.

Michael's all time favorite was California screamin.  I think he went on it 10 times. He would have ONLY rode this ride if he could. The first time I went on it he kept screaming "THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!"

We were walking down the "pier" when the green plastic army men came out looking for recruits. They had the kids marching, and saluting, and...

making scary poses?!

The drummers did a little feature. It was pretty impressive.

We had an awesome time. Hopefully a trip the kids will remember.

California trip Day 3

Our first ride of the day "Mr. Toad's wild ride".

Tea cups. yup. Not a chance you'll see me in one of those. I remember when I was little and my mom wouldn't go on it. I just thought she wasn't fun. Little did I know how sick one spin could make a woman! :)
It's a good thing they have a Dad who is more than happy to try to be the fastest spinning tea-cup on the floor.

Small world ride. Went on this several times.

Small world story: While Tyler was napping and Dan was taking the others on a big kid ride, I was checking my e-mail on my phone. I was facing a wall, sunglasses on, and nose close to my phone. I heard some voices and some guy say "Hey, I think that's my cousin." I happened to look up to find my cousin Stetson standing there! It's been probably 10+ years since I've seen him, and I was surprised he recognized me. He lives in Utah, I have MANY cousins on my dad's side, most of who are 10 years or more older than me.

Anyway, I thought it was pretty neat. :)

Getting into the submarine

"descending" in the water
Tyler was fine...until it went completely dark.

I had several friends tell me that the "training to be a Jedi" show is a must. There are about 13 kids that get picked to "train", and I read a tip somewhere that you should wear bright clothes.  So, I made Michael this shirt:

He got lots of comments about it, which he acted embarrassed about, but I knew he loved the attention. :)

It worked! He was so excited

Chelsea was too. :)

First they teach the kids how to fight with a light saber.

Then Darth Vader and Darth Mahl show up and the kids each have to "battle" them.

Here Michael is in action:

Chelsea's favorite ride was Autopia. I was her passenger and decided that Dan will be helping her with Driver's education. :)

For some reason they wanted a picture with this indian. Notice Michael's kissy lips?

Splash Mountain!
We hit this ride at the perfect time of day. There was zero line! I think they went on it 4 or 5 times that night.

They loved it....

well...Brinly....not so much. :)

Chelsea and I were trying to act bored for the picture.

Mickey's soundsational parade

Look! Belle is blowing my Brinly a kiss!
see?! It made my princess' day

The costumes were amazing!

Brinly kept telling me to take pictures of all the pretty dresses. What a fun job to have!

Tiana is the only princess we didn't get to meet.

We also didn't meet Tinkerbelle or her friends, so this has to be good enough. :)

Another great day of Magic and fun!
