I also just had to post these of her in her cute dress, she has it tied up in the back so she can crawl. We were over at my parents house and she was enjoying taking rides in my brothers old dump truck.

B's first Animal Sounds
B has started her first animal sounds. We started with the snake just like Elliott did at this age. We also do lion, just because she loves to growl. I hadn't played that with her in awhile, I just randomly asked her last night what a snake says, she broke into a huge grin and said "sssss" She is so proud of herself! You'll have to pause the music down on the bottom right of the page to hear her.

Happy Half Birthday Elliott!
I decided that it would be fun for us to start the tradition of celebrating half birthdays because a year is so long to wait for a birthday and our kids aren't spoiled enough ;-) Elliott is so into pretending to have birthday parties and pretend wrapping stuff up I thought she'd really enjoy it. Yesterday was the perfect day for such a celebration because we were waiting on this "huge" ice storm to hit so we stayed inside all day. This is what we do in Texas when the weather threatens to drop a quarter inch of ice on us. Pretty sad. Staying inside also gave the perfect opportunity for a Pajama Day. Lucky for us Chris came home early, Elliott immediately ordered him into his pajamas and he got to celebrate with us!
Then we made Half a Birthday cake (which was really a brownie cake because we thought that sounded yummy and it is automatically half the size of a cake) Notice E in a SUNdress on the icy day, she only participated in the second half of pajama day, because each morning she is desperate to put on a dress after spending all night without one.
What a perfect catch there- she thought I was gone.
Then we opened birthday presents that were Half wrapped
Sang Happy Birthday (my camera died so there are no pictures). Ate our birthday brownies on Half a paper plate. It was so much fun!
We half painted our nails. Half pink and Half purple.

Serious Diva Issues
We've officially hit the age of fashion around here. There are more wardrobe changes each day than a Cher concert. Its getting a little ridiculous.
Elliott's Rules of Fashion
Must wear a dress. Always. Not negotiable.
Needs her long coat for outside.
Needs to change into a short sleeve dress while inside.
Needs to change into a NEW winter dress if we leave again.
Hair can only be in a little ponytail or two little ponytails. Or a fit ensues.
Hair must be "Curly Shirley" do not straighten.
If mom insists on play clothes for the park, they are put on over/under dress.
I'm sure plenty more rules will be added. Boy am I glad I never got around to buying pants for this season. The kid is obsessed! As far as fashion problems for 3 year olds go, this one isn't so bad. At least she always looks nice. Yesterday I set out 3 outfits for her to wear, to let her choose but trying to encourage her to wear a few things that have hardly been worn. She didn't like any of my choices and proclaimed them all to be "Not cute".

10 Months
Berkley is 10 months old now! I can't believe how fast this year has flown by. We just love her so much! A few things about Berkley nowadays. She is such a happy baby and loves to get a laugh out of people. If you laugh at anything she does she'll do it over and over. She has almost 6 teeth now, we've only had a few biting incidents. She chomped E's finger pretty good in the car one day, my question to E was what was her finger doing in her mouth to begin with??
I was bored the other day so we tried to take some cute pictures outside. She wasn't very into it though so I just got a couple.
Here she is in our room. She looks so tough with her little bandanna.

We took a wagon ride to the park on Saturday. Elliott put her hat on top of the one she already had. Chris was pulling her though the grass so it was a little bumpy, she's holding on tight though!
I think she looks just like my dad did in his baby pictures in this one. I need to go back and look. Maybe I can scan one in for a comparison.
She loves to eat and has begun to feel that she is too old for baby food. She prefers eating table food, who can blame her? She loves to shovel it all in there on her own. She goes crazy if we have ice cream. We're bad and let her have little licks whenever we get cones while we're out. She screams, opens her mouth as wide as she can when it comes close to her, and keeps her eyes trained on it at all times. It is quite funny to watch, I'll have to try to get some video of it sometime soon.
She is all over the place now that she's figured out how to crawl. She loves to play with anything that is Elliott's, E is working on being a nice sister with manners and not yelling at her when she touches her things. She is trying hard to pull up, she's done it in the tub a couple times, but can't quite get it down without the help of the water.
She has a strange obsession with paper. She can find some anywhere. Possibly because our little Picasso is constantly drawing and coloring picture and leaving them all over the place. Here she eating some paper.

Our Week
Last weekend my parents came over to watch the girls so Chris and I could go over to our friends house to play poker and hang out. The girls always have so much fun with Grammy and Papa. For some reason we always manage to have tons of pictures with Papa but not too many with Grammy, maybe because Grammy doesn't always like having her picture taken ;-)

Little Berkley is having a tough time with all this new found ability. Now that she can sit up, if she's awake in bed she's always sitting up. Last night she only cried for a couple minutes, when I went in to check on her she was sleeping like this. Looks comfortable doesn't it?
Here she is in her new outfit from Aunt Amanda and Uncle Brad. Such a big girl! She is working hard on pulling up by herself, if I help her up she stand up for a good while.
There is a little Elliott on a stick that she moves to each pocket. She keeps it on the back of her bedroom door.
Here they are getting a horsey ride together from my dad. He also does this race car thing that is hilarious.

This was B's first trip in the Barbie Escalade. I thought we'd try it while daddy was home to help make sure Elliott didn't get too crazy so I could stay by Berkley. B loved it- she had her little arm draped over the window. I can't believe how big she is now. She got to ride in the little car cart at Kroger with E last time we went. She thinks she's pretty cool now.

It gives us something to do during Berkley's naps.
I think I've mentioned it before, but Elliott really looks forward to the days when Daddy stays home. She has been asking everyday how many days until daddy will be home with us. He had the idea that we should make her a chart so she could see it and start working on her days of the week. So Elliott and I made one yesterday. She loves it

On the move
B is officially on the move now. I'm so excited for her! Not so much for myself though....I'm brought back to the crazy Elliott crawling days into everything. B is currently under the desk pulling over the shredder. Ahhh the fun we will have. She's pretty slow right now, she huffs and puffs a lot. It cracks me up! I also love how easily distracted she is, check out that turn! Oh and of course E had to come be involved in the video. If you ever have trouble getting your kid to sit for pictures or do things in video, have a baby and start taking pics of the new baby instead- it'll fix it right up.

The Big 3-0
I'm turning 30 next weekend. Chris surprised me with a night out at my favorite restaurant, Del Friscos, with my whole family! He told me on Wed that our friends had invited us to dinner there, and he made an executive decision that we'd go and called the babysitter. Once I started thinking about it I became a little suspicious knowing that my birthday was coming up soon but the story was entirely possible so I wasn't sure. I kinda put out questions here and there to the family and to him, but nobody slipped up. I was planning on seeing Scott and Emily when I walked in, as soon as we turned to go to the table I saw my parents, Amanda, Brad, Jamie and Rachel. I was actually surprised since I had convinced myself that it wasn't anything for my birthday. It was so nice to have a dinner out with everyone. Its been a long time since the whole family's gone out to eat together now that we have the girls its easier to just eat in. We had a great time. My parents gave me airline and accommodations to go to Hawaii whenever we want! The only catch is that they get to keep the girls while we're gone. Sold!!!! They also gave me a bracelet with charms, and everyone else gave me charms for it so it has a great start.
Chris, being so sweet gave me a letter saying that it was the first day of my birthday week (he always insists that the weeks surrounding his birthday all count as his birthday) so I get a little surprise everyday. Today it was a massage. Now I see why E was so excited about the Christmas Elf, I can't wait to see what is next.
I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband, happy healthy girls, and a fabulous family. I feel like I have such a charmed life. I really do count my blessings a lot, I don't know what I've done to deserve all the wonderful in my life...Here's to the next 30 years :-)
