Some of the celebrating

Elliott had an entire weekend of celebrating. I still have tons of pictures of her party with her friends to go though. Sunday we went over to my parents house and had a party with the family.
My brother turns 25 next week so they got to have a joint party. Elliott even got to help him blow out all those candles.
She has been dying for rain boots and a rain coat. Her aunts and uncles went in together and got her the cutest ladybug outfit. Its been sprinkling off and on all week, so she's gotten them out a few times but I've yet to get the great pictures of it yet.Grammy and Papa got her the Bitty Baby twins she thought she was going to be waiting until Christmas for. She has been playing with them non stop. They are Emmy and Max.Here is Berkley stealing all Aunt Ray's jewelry. She had about 6 bracelets and then needed her necklace too The girls with cousin Rylee. She is getting so big!
These are from E's actual birthday. She didn't have anything to open because I had taken her to the American Girl store and she picked out her gifts. Luckily Berkley was thoughtful enough to make a hunt for E to find her gift from her. Here she is giving her the first "clue"
The hunt went through all Berkley's favorite spots and ended at her spot in the drawer under the oven. This is where mommy looks whenever something goes missing. E was giving her a big hug. I didn't get a picture of it, but she got her a little battery operated hamster that runs in a wheel. They have both been admiring it at Cracker Barrel for some time. We have already replaced the batteries in this little hamster. E likes to keep it running at all times.A cupcake for breakfast? Yay!

My baby is 4

Sweet Elliott is 4 today. Last week she told me "Mom, I don't even know what it feels like to be 4" Today when I asked her if she felt different now that she was 4 and she said she did. How cute is that? She is such a sweet, beautiful, smart girl and we are so lucky to have her!
Just a few things about our girl

  • She loves books always has, and she can sound out 3 letter words (when she feels like it)and is working on learning her site words.
  • She loves being a big sister. She is so sweet to Berkley, even when B is being not so nice to her. She is pretty good at sharing and likes to watch out for (tattle on) Berkley

  • She loves computer games and is very good at taking pictures and figuring stuff out.

  • She loves to be silly and make people laugh

  • She is a total chatterbox and loves to report to daddy any indiscretion mommy had during the day (such as crying/screaming at fleas)

  • She loves telling jokes and making up jokes. A current favorite? What animal can jump higher than a house? Any animal! Houses can't jump! She tells it with such enthusiasm

  • She loves swimming, going to the park, playing uno with mommy and daddy, and baby dolls

  • She wants to be an artist when she grows up

Here are a few pictures from the last 4 years

Look at those chubby cheeks. She hasn't lost them!5 months old13 months old18 months oldFall of being 2 years oldSpring of being 2 years old3 years old

I just realized I must really like her with pigtails since those are all the pics I grabbed. Too bad she won't let me do them anymore!

Back to Reality

Elliott suggested a trip to the zoo for our first day back together. It turned out to be a great day for it since it was only in the 80's that morning.

They love going in and feeding the birds the seed sticks. E can usually catch them.
This was the first time B went that she could walk. She would put her stick out, and when they got close try to grab them. Here she is trying to feed one under the fence.

She had 3 at one point
E saw this lizard and said "Ewww gross" B on the other hand quickly climbed the step and pressed her face to the glass

On the train. I think this is the first time we have done the train with Berkley. They loved it, we had to ride 4 times. B just said "weeeee" the whole first time it was adorable.

B found this hat in the car, its too small for her but she insisted on wearing it around half the day. She looked like an eccentric old lady wandering around with her crazy walk.

While Mommy was Away

The girls had a busy time while I was gone and I made everyone promise to take pictures for me. Who knows what would happen if a few days of their life went undocumented ;-)

They got to go swimming at my parents neighbors pool. This is Berkley's favorite thing to do at the pool, carry rings on her arm. Elliott appears to be very safe. She cracks me up with her excessive floatation devices. It was a big step for her though because she can't touch in this pool at all. Mom said she spent 2 1/2 hours jumping in and swimming to the side over and over.
Pretty sure they were spinning in the chair here. A favorite pastime at Grammy and Papa's

They got to go to Chuck E Cheese and get these cool cups. So funny!
E got to go to the little beach at the lake with Katie's girls.
Chris took them to Ore City. We haven't gotten up there since Christmas, we've had a few cancelled trips, so the girls were happy to spend some time with Nanny and PawPaw, even if they are being surly in this picture.....E with Aunt Brandy and cousin Brittany, who apparently doesn't want her picture taken. The girls at home. Doesn't B look so big?? I swear she grew an inch while I was goneI asked Chris to please take pictures of his attempt at E's hair. He got lucky between being at my parents and his, there was only one day that he had to try. Elliott did it herself and he thought it looked cute. Just throw a bow on the back of it and we're done!

My girls trip

So much fun I can't even begin to describe it all. Beth, Susan and I have been friends since college. We don't talk much, don't see each other much. In fact really the last time we were all 3 together was Vegas before I got pregnant with Elliott. We were all together before I had her (not a fabulous time for me since I was terrified out of my mind of giving birth to a giant baby) and they came to see me again when I had Berkley. We got back together and it was as if no time had passed. Picked up conversation like we talk everyday, it was awesome! We had so much fun relaxing, drinking, and being silly. There are so many pics, and I can't wait to get the ones from Susan she has most of the crazy ones of me, as I have many of her and Beth.
Here we are on our stop in Mexico. Despite my smile in this picture, this was the day all 3 of us woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Could be that we were up too late the night before, up entirely too early that morning and didn't eat breakfast....who knows.
This picture more sums up the day and our attitudes. Waiting for our adventure to begin. We all know how patient I am.... This was before we did the zip line. It was pretty cool, glad I did it. Not as thrilling as I thought it would be though.

Here is a shot from our last night. Beth and I have a fun dip thing. We used to ride in the back of boys trucks up to Dallas and eat fun dip. Quite fun if you've never tried it. The windy front of the ship was a good recreation.
Out at night
LOVED this beautiful sunset. There is a good one on Sue's camera of all 3 of us
So wonderful to have such fun friends! I missed my girls and CP like crazy but just had to glance around at the miserable people with small children to get over it quickly :-) I'll post tomorrow some of their fun from while I was gone.

Elliott says

E: Oh, I just almost put on my pants without my panties, but then I recognized they were missing

Me: You recognized they were missing? (I'm thinking she meant realized)

E: Yes recognized, its another word for "oh"

Hope everyone has a great week! The girls are headed to my parents until Chris gets them Friday and takes them to visit Ore City and I'm going on a cruise with my friends from college. I'm going to miss all my little monsters and my big monster, its my first time all on my own in 5 years! Here comes Tina.....

5 million pics of our trip to the Lakehouse

We rented a lakehouse on Cedar Creek Lake this weekend with my parents, Chris' sister and our niece Madison. It was so much fun! We were right on the water and even had a pool out back. We had a lot of fun spending time together, swimming and relaxing. I have millions of pictures, which should not be a surprise to anyone, so I just went through and picked a ton. They are all out of order, I didn't want to take the time to load them in order.

Elliott had SO much fun with Madison. M is 7 1/2 (" technically 8" if you ask her). Before we left Elliott said she was "so excited she was going to rip her pants off" I have NO idea where she heard that but I am still cracking up about it. M had fun having someone to boss around, and there were no problems because E was such a loyal follower.

They had crazy hats all over the house and the guy told us to take pictures of everyone in them because they wanted to start a wall of shame in the converted garage/bar. Brandy and Madison. If you want to see what E will look like when she grows up, its Brandy. Lucky girl!
E doing her crossword puzzle
Grammy and Papa The one picture of me from the weekend, to prove I was in fact there.
They are just too cute together! B slept through all the hat picture taking and was uninterested when I tried to get some of her.
M jumping in the pool. It was great, only about 3 feet deep on the shallow side so both girls could touch.
Chris with his hippo tube. He knew when it happened it was going on the blog.

Chris, Brandy and the girls swimming Berk and Daddy
E was towing M around in the deep end. She's come a long way since the beginning of the summer!
Berk and Daddy "relaxing" in the hammock.

B had the goggles on, she looked so cute and was walking around, but by the time I got a picture she was ripping them off
She was really whiny this part of the day unless she was relaxing in the crab/lobster chair drinking. Is she my baby or what?
Chris and I took the girls out in the canoe. I had to chase E down and force her in, then she cried for the first 5 min and held onto Madison for dear life. She ended up having a good time though. She loved going under the bridge.
When B saw us go in the canoe she led Brandy back to her boat and wanted to get in
This is the girls on the way down. It was Berkley's first time to get to watch the dvd player in the car.
Of course keeping the headphones on didn't last long.
