5 Months of Adorable

The past 5 months have flown by. Patton has really come into his own and is an awesome little guy.  It took him 5 months to train us- but through determination and hard work he has finally gotten us where he wants us.

A few things about General Pomeroy
  • He likes to wake up at 5:45 sharp to a nice meal and some snuggles in my bed.  He will determine at that time if he feels like starting his day or cuddling up and snoozing for a little longer.  He finds its best to keep me on my toes or I get lazy.
  • He likes to play in his exersaucer or on his playmat. But NOT if mommy tries to stay in bed- he allowed this for a short while and found that I completely took advantage of this, so he needs to be sure I get out of bed and start my day.
  • He will finally hang out in his stroller and carseat for long periods of time. But NOT if I take too long shopping or looking at things.  He likes to keep moving- places to go people to see and all that.
  • He is a HUGE flirt.  He loves to grin and pretty ladies.
  • He doesn't appreciate being ignored. If you walk by him you better stop and say hi or he'll let you have it!
  • When he wants to be picked up he'll arch his back/lift up his legs
  • He likes to scream in a high pitched voice at the top of his lungs.  He likes to keep those vocal chords in shape for the night time when mommy tries to make him go longer between feedings.
  • He goes to sleep on his own about half the time. He finishes eating then yells at mommy to stop playing around and put him in his bed with his blue dog and his pink pig blanket.  Please bounce the mattress ever so slightly while he stares off at his bumper.  Once an appropriate amount of time has passed I can tip toe out.
I had to post a few of the pics from trying to get his 5 month shot.  Elliott was my assistant- I wonder what she was doing here. Looks like it must have been disturbing.
He got a little excited and started grabbing and pulling the blanket.
I love this look its like he's saying "Here I'm looking at the camera. Happy now?"

P loves to hang out with daddy. He's watching baseball and sucking his thumb.

Chris got up with him on Saturday morning. I came out and found them like this.

They moved to the floor to finish up the paper. Aren't they adorable?

Fathers Day and more

For Fathers Day we had my parents and brother and sister in law over for lunch.  Here is PJ with his Uncle J and Aunt Ray
 PJ, E and Grammy
 My Daddy and I.
Papa with P, Papa loves to sing and whistle and do crazy dance moves with Patton- he usually thinks it is pretty funny.
Not this time though! Look at that lip! I have been trying to catch a picture of  this for 5 months now. So sad, but so cute!
Uncle J and Aunt Ray got roped into a game of Monopoly Jr with the girls. Then B dragged Aunt Ray upstairs for some more games.  We felt a little bad, but we sacrificed her and enjoyed some time without the kids.
Chris with his babies. I am so lucky to have an amazing dad and a wonderful dad for my kids.  Its true what they say- you marry someone like your daddy.  I got a good one :-)
Poor Grammy swimming with all the girls.  Amanda and I looked on and took pictures.
The girls making 4th of July necklaces
Patton is cracking me up with his food! He loves his cereal most nights and opens his mouth like a little baby bird.
We have 3 other families in our neighborhood that we hang out with a lot. We actually have kids every age from 8 to Patton being the youngest, with one more due this November. It is so much fun! We started a dinner exchange a couple months ago. If you have good neighbors I highly recommend it.  We each have a Thursday of the month that it is our turn. Mine is the 3rd Thurs, which means I make dinner for us and all 3 other families and drop it off to them.  Its a bit of work, but well worth it the other 3 Thursdays of the month when a yummy dinner (plus dessert!) gets dropped off at your door. For the summer we're not doing every week because of people out of town and things but we each picked a day to have everyone over to our house for dinner and all be able to hang out together.  Last Thurs we had dinner at Rachel and Adam's it was so fun!

Little Grace was playing peek a boo with Patton. Ellen loves to hold him.
Tried for a group shot-it was kind of like herding cats.  I was studying it earlier- I love how my kids are looking att the camera- although you an tell elliott wants to see what is going on- she knows she needs to look at all costs. If you click on it to make it bigger you can see Grace is blurry in her haste to escape from the group pic.  Slowly everyone else ran off too.
I was able to catch most of them on the play set- Grace and Patton are the only ones missing.

College Station Weekend

I cannot begin to describe how wonderful it was to get away for a weekend with a bunch of our old college friends- many high school friends for me as well.  It was our first time in 2 years to have a totally kid free weekend.  We decided to go because our good friend Wes was back from his tour in Afghanistan and he has been wanting to get everyone together. That was all the excuse I needed! Chris, Becca, Beth and I drove down Friday afternoon together. We went straight to Ninfas to enjoy some dinner and a margarita. It is so fun to visit all of our old favorite places!
Next we went to a not-so-favorite place of mine. The Chicken. If you've never experienced The Dixie Chicken in College Station let me try to set the scene. It was built in the 1700's (maybe I'm exaggerating a bit) it is all wood. It hasn't been cleaned since the late 1800's.  The boys love to play dominoes here. I've never quite understood the fascination- but with lots of friends there it was a good time!
The tables are all carved up. Luckily Wes had at least 3 pocket knives in his pocket and carved something in a table to commemorate our weekend. It was kinda a 10 year reunion for us- since most of us graduated in '01. Seems like yesterday.
 My favorite boy and I
 The group from Friday night.
Saturday the boys went golfing and the girls laid out by the hotel pool. I burned myself SO BAD. I was trying to be careful too! It was awful- but I had a nice time chatting with the girls and getting some sun. Beth and I were planning on getting pretty wild on Saturday night- we wanted to start off with a Hangover Elevator picture. We thought we were pretty funny, Chris not so much.
This group is TROUBLE. Susan and her boyfriend made the trip up to meet us on Saturday night.
The whole group from Saturday. Please ignore the girl in the bottom left corner. She decided she was part of our group-we are pretty fun ;)  I didn't mind hanging out with her but wasn't very happy that she was jumping into all of our pictures.
 Wes, Jeff, Jackie and Donnie
So much fun to see all of our friends- even though we're all spread out we get back together and its like no time has passed. We missed our friends that couldn't make it- as soon as Anne comes back from the other side of the world we're doing it all again!

The OC, Cousin M and lots of catching up!

We went to Ore City the day after my last post for our niece Brittany's graduation.  I sure hope my kids don't grow up as fast as she did!

Graduation was at 8 pm outside. I was very worried about how PJ would handle it but he did great. Maybe because he was with his Nanny.
Brandy with Brittany Dakota and Madison.
Britt with our crew
Hanging out at Nanny and PawPaw's
Patton and PawPaw have lots of deep conversations
Madison came back to stay with us for 5 days. I didn't want to take her back! The girls loved having her here and she was a big help to me.
The girls like to do P90X with me in the mornings.  They last about 3 minute before boredom overtakes them. I wish I could just walk away.....
2 little diva's in downtown Mckinney
I don't know where they got this from....I meant to dig out pics of Katie and I from the attic for this post.
Making cookies. Its become a going home tradition. Its my attempt to fatten Brandy up ;-) Not nearly as important to me as it was last year when I was exploding with pregnancy pounds and she was looking adorable.
Chris and I went to College Station for a weekend with all our old college buddies. It was an awesome time and I will post some pics soon. Patton stayed with my parents and enjoyed being an only child for a weekend. The girls spent one night with Aunt Amanda and Uncle Brad click  HERE to see those adventures. The next night they spent with Uncle Jamie and Aunt Rachel.  They had so much fun both nights! I have a few pics they sent me on my phone. Berkley enjoyed raiding Aunt Ray's closet for dress up clothes. She wondered why she had so many shoes. Aunt Ray even busted out the wedding dress for the tea party and now Berkley wants to live there. She keeps telling me the clock says its time to go to Aunt Ray's house.  Elliott got lots of swimming time with Uncle J and he even took her to see the Judy Moody movie which I'm sure was quite a treat for him.  So lucky to have such awesome aunts and uncles and grandparents to take care of them so we can have some fun of our own!

We brought back souvenirs. E's shirt says "You call it a mascot, we call it a hamburger" She thought it was pretty funny.
P's says "Already smarter than a Tsip" I think it would be hilarious if we have them in all these clothes growing up and they end up going to UT. It will be good family fun. But they better go to A&M. No, seriously.

Berk was being difficult for pics. Whatev.
Patton tried to take his first big boy bath with the girls. B was so excited because we got tub colors, but then they freaked her out. So she spent her whole bath screaming. Patton didn't find it enjoyable.

I planned on waiting until 6 months for rice cereal. The feeding baby's solid food novelty wore off somewhere along the way the first time around with  Elliott.  After he scooped a handful of my cereal out of the bowl the other day and tried to stuff it in his mouth I thought he might be ready. He was a big fan. The girls fought all day about who was going to feed him first. The novelty wore off for them around bite 5, and now I have a new job:)
