Big Catch up Post

Get comfortable Anne and Amanda- this post is just for you. Sorry my little coming soon tease didn't go over so well.  I should have at least thrown a picture with a cute face in there. I seriously got bored halfway through writing this, so hopefully there is a little entertainment in there.   Here's some highlights from August/September and October- plus there is another post after this finishing our trip. Yeah- an hour of my life. You're welcome :-)

Patton being Patton. I just love that smile.
Never has a bigger smile on his face than when he's getting a piggy back ride from "Et"
"Gerk" loves piggy back rides too
This was a photo shoot gone wrong. I have planned this pic since I found out he was a boy.  I have shirtless tutu pics of the girls at this age.  Patton wanted to be different.  I might try again- or I might frame this one.
Mean mommy trying to take a picture of her baby.
The girls love when we use shaving cream to clean the table. Super fun to draw in!

Uncle Wes came for a visit- they were enjoying my special Frito dip together
I love group pics of kids- they always turn out so wonderfully. Especially when I'd rather they were all in bed :-)
Emily and Terry were also in town that weekend as well as our friend Jennifer from Houston- Maura and Dan live in Plano and sadly we hadn't seen them since Jennifer got married 8 or 9 years ago. Donnie and Becca made it over too. So fun to catch up with everyone!
Patton with his cool sunscreen hair
This was from E's Bday in July- Berk was presenting her with her first clue for her scavenger hunt.  I love how the morning of her 7th birthday her bunny that she's slept with since she was 4 months old is still front and center :-)

She got an ipod touch for her gift from us
Happy Boy, probably thinking up something naughty to do
E's bday party- she had it at a swimming place and this was afterwards- with a summer birthday it seems like everyone make it or hardly anyone can!
 Static trampoline hair

What's not to love about this one- the belly? The tiny chubby feet? The chubby little hands that can do anything on an iphone at 20 months old? Its amazing to watch. He can get from the lock screen to his games, and in and out of them.
This guy is a nightmare at mealtime.  I've decided he must have been an orphan in a past life. You always hear about how when kids get adopted from orphanages and things that they hoard and hide food.  This guy will take one bite of something, if he likes it, he immediately starts demanding more. It doesn't matter how much is already on his plate.  He can't be tricked either. Its like he weighs it before he hands it to you and if you pretend to scoop more on there or just mix it around he becomes enraged.  He also makes a giant mess.

Elliott's 2nd grade teacher is super fun- they have a movie theme in their room and she asked for a parent to come up to take pics of the kids dressed up in different props being silly. I went up and had so much fun- it was so neat to see what each kid picked and the different silly poses that came out- their personalities really showed

Girls night with my neighborhood ladies.  We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends! A couple weeks ago we had a random pizza party on Rachel and Adams front lawn- the moms had been out watching the kids play all afternoon- Ben was picking up pizza for their family, the rest of us had him pick up for us too and we all ate together out front. Doesn't get much better than that
Berk turned 4 1/2. WHere does the time go?

Chris and I took a trip up to Green Bay, WI to visit our friends Adam and Jenny and meet their new baby Piper.  Such a fun time!

They took us to see Lambaeu Field where the Packers play. The tour was really cool and the history is super neat, we want to go do the Cowboys one now too.
Saturday they took us to Door County to ride bikes through a beautiful state park right on the bay. They left the baby with grandma.

The trees were starting to change colors, so beautiful.  I think the fact that I love that so much means I might be getting old.....
Our bike ride ended up being 2 1/2 hours. I think we got lost 3 times? It was awesome though- only the last 30 min were a little rough because we got pretty hungry!

This is Facetime on the iPhone- since E has an iTouch we can video chat, I wish I would have got a pic of all 3 of them trying to cram their faces in there. P loves it, its so cute and fun to see their cute little faces while we are away on vacation, listen to them fight over the phone and then hang up :-)
Chris was teaching Adam how to trim baby nails. He's the expert in the Pomeroy family.
Last weekend we headed to East TX for lots of football.

Spoiled much? I'll tell you what though, those iDevices come in super handy in the car.
Madison is a cheerleader this year- I didn't take any pics at the HS game that Dakota played in the night before. I do wish I had a pic of the lady with the cowbell that sat in front of us to help me remember how fun it was ;-)

The group with Nanny and PawPaw
When we got back home we had a treat on our doorstep that we'd been booed. We got to put a sign on our door so nobody else would boo us then we made treats for 2 neighbors and booed them.  We started this last year in the neighborhood and its super fun.  The kids have a great time getting bags ready (thanks Nanny for the bags!) deciding who to boo, sneaking to a friends door ringing the bell and running like crazy so they don't catch us!

And Done.

The END of the trip- Chicago and randomness

From the beginning of trip planning Chris had worked in a stop at the General George Patton Museum by Ft Knox.  He loves war books specifically whichever one Patton was in- I think WWII? I'm too lazy to walk across the house and verify my facts.  You can tell I got a lot out of the trip.  I'm just kidding - it really was interesting

 I love this
These are from the hotel room in Chicago- I can still remember as a kid jumping back and forth on hotel beds as fast as we could while mom and dad were out hauling luggage in.  Since they do it anyway I thought I'd at least get some pics of it. Glad I did- they are so cute!
This one is my favorite- its the one thing I want to do more of, basically spying on them having fun - showing their true smiles and happiness

We also saw signs for Abe Lincoln's birthplace along the way from Nashville to Michigan. Please don't ask me where- almost positive it was Kentucky, it all runs together at this point. We figured since we had nowhere to be except a hotel a little lolly gagging was OK. Little did we know we had the worst drive ever through OH ahead of us.

The thing I don't understand about this is that its not the actual cabin- its a replica of the actual cabin- that they put in a building. They think this is what his would have looked like. I think I need to pay more attention on our historical visits.
This is the building it was in
Elliott thought this spring where "Abe probably took his first drink of water" was pretty neat.
 Wiped out
Chicago is one of my very favorite places- we almost skipped it because Chris was ready to stop living like a gypsy.  I wasn't, and it was only one more day. It was raining when we left my cousins house in Kalamazoo - but I didn't have my game face on for driving all the way back to TX so we agreed to hit Chicago anyway.  So glad we did! It was the perfect way to end our trip, with just a fun day of the 5 of us before we made the long journey back to TX. We even lucked out with great weather since it had been super hot before and after this day- the rain cooled it off just for us.

We went on a boat tour of Lake MI.  Mostly so we could listen to Patton whine and be angry. Haha- it would have been cool if we could have heard any of the history that was being talked about. Maybe next time.
E wanted a pic to send to her friend Owen

Chris and P went back to the hotel so P could have a much needed nap and the girls and I hung out on Navy Pier
The Ferris Wheel wasn't quite as thrilling as they hoped
Elliott LOVED this one- I think she did it 3 times. Berk wasn't tall enough so we sat that ride out.
You can see our little reflections in the ball
I can't wait to go back!
