MS Walk

Last Saturday we did the MS Walk with my work. It was so much fun! I'm so glad we participated in it.

When we crossed the finish line, they gave us all medals for completing the walk. Which, despite the look in the picture, Sydney was really excited to get one. As we walked farther along there were individuals with signs saying "Thank You!" and the year they were diagnosed with MS. I got really choked up seeing them. I'm so glad we took the time out of our day to donate our time and money to this great cause.

St. Patrick's Day

I decided it was about time I did something special for a holiday other than Christmas. So for St. Patrick's Day, Sydney and I made cupcakes with green frosting.

Syndey's friend Ezra was over for the fun.

We thought it would be fun if we hid them from Nick and when he got home he could search for the surprise.

I tried teaching Sydney how to play the Hot/Cold game. That didn't quite work out. When Nick came in the front door and I asked Sydney if Daddy was Cold and far away or Hot and close to the surprise. She shouted "COLD!" then ran to where the cupcakes were hiding and said "Here they are!"

It was a lot of fun!

Birthdays continued...

Sydney turned 3 this year and she had a "Princess" Birthday. Just about everything she wanted and received was Disney Princesses. She is a princess all the way! We love her so much!

Nick's Birthday was the day after Sydney's and unfortunately he was sick on his birthday. So we did not do a thing on his birthday. He spent the whole day sleeping and watching movies. He had already purchased "Rock Band 2" for his gift, so he didn't even have anything to open. Needless to say, I felt like a really lame wife. We're hoping to do something special when we get our tax return to make up for it.

And finally it was My Birthday. Nick surprised me with all my gifts. He gave me some really cute square dishes with bamboo place mats, a cute brown skirt and the movie "Runaway Bride" (which I love).

What a sweet guy :)

That ends the birthdays for our family this year. 4 within a months time is tiring and expensive. Now to start saving for next year :)

Favorite Sydney Sayings

Sydney says some really cute and funny things all the time. Here are a few...

(1) Whenever were just sitting around and not really talking, out of nowhere Sydney will say...

Sydney: "So... How are you?"
Mom/Dad: "I'm good. How are you?"
Sydney: "My good." (with her head slightly tilted to the right and nodding up and down.)

(2) "Please Nicely" - I once told Sydney that she needed to ask nicely if she wanted something. Ever since then she has said "Please Nicely".

(3) "Yeah. That's what My talking about." - Lately Sydney has been speaking in full sentences and some times I just don't catch on very fast to what she's trying to tell me. But when I finally confirm that I know what she's trying say, she'll tell me... "Yeah. That's what My talking about." 7.30.08

(4) "My sad... My watch a movie and my feel better" 7.30.08

(5) Sydney's newest thing is to ask me if we can do something and then saying "(big excited gasp)... THAT BE FUN!?!" an example from today is "Go cabin? (big excited gasp)... THAT BE FUN!?!" 7.31.08

(6) "I want to play with my soup-case Mommy" - suitcase 8.17.08

(7) "Old McDonald had a farm. E-I-E-I-O" - McDonald's restaurant. August 2008

(8) "Wendy's Old Mcdonald had a farm. E-I-E-I-O" - Last Saturday Sydney wanted to eat at McDonald's for lunch with her Grandpa and Grandma. But they wanted to go to Wendy's instead. So Grandma told Sydney that we were going to Old McDonald's little girls restaurant... "Wendy McDonalds". Sydney responded with "Oh... Wenny Old McDonald had a farm E-I-E-I-O?" 9.11.08

(9) Sydney still has a hard time staying in bed to fall asleep. It takes about 5-10 tries of us putting her back in bed. Well tonight when I was putting her back to bed for the 8th or so time, I said "Sydney, do NOT get out of bed or else." and Sydney responded with "or else you'll FREAK OUT?" 10.14.08

(10) My sister came to spend the weekend with us, just for fun. Syndey was playing with Michelle's hair while they were watching "Sleeping Beauty" and Sydney tells her... "I do like your hair. It's like a dream, a dream come true." 10.18.08

(11) Today my phone was ringing while I was putting Zoe down for a nap. Sydney tried to answer it but she hasn't figured out that she needs to slide the phone open for it to answer. She kept saying "Hello", and finally after about 15 hello's she started yelling... "Hey! Talk to me! . . . Hey! TALK TO MEEE!" 11.25.08

(12) Last night I was on my way to a Christmas Goodie Exchange with some friends and I told Sydney I'd bring her home a special treat. Well this morning after sydney had eaten her breakfast she turns to me and says...

Sydney: "I have an idea"
Mom: "You do!?!"
Sydney: "I have a special treat for you."
Mom: "Do you want me to get a special treat for you?"
Sydney: "Yesth" (yes with a little lisp) 12.4.08

(13) Sydney fell down today and was really crying. I went to help her up and she said with tears streaming down her face... "I just want to hold you Cinderella" (I'm Cinderella and Sydney is Tinker Bell or Snow White.) 12.22.08

(14) Today we put on some lady bug tatoos on Sydney's arms. I asked her how they were doing and she responded... "They're lookin' good."

(15) "I love you as MUCH as I can!"

(16) I told Sydney today that the first letter in the word "underwear" was "U". She responded with "No it isn't". I of course responded with "YES, it is.". She replied, "I am NOT underwear!!!" 6.5.09

(17) Sydney said this to Zoe at dinner tonight... "Zoe. Eat your dinner... you don't want me to count to 12." 11.2.09

(18) My conversation with Sydney... (12.5.09)
Me: Sydney stop doing that.
Sydney: I can't hear you.
Me: Yes, you can. And stop right now.
Sydney: I can't hear you, I have headphones in.
Me: No you don't.
Sydney: Yes I do. I'm listening to music and I can't hear you.
