Ouch! That's going to leave a mark.

*WARNING* - bloody, graphic photos. Look if you dare :)

I knew the day would come when one of our kids would need stitches, and deep down I knew it would be Zoe. She is constantly bonking her head on things. Today we were up visiting my Mom. Grandma was reading a book with Sydney, Zoe and cousin Caleb. Zoe wasn't interested in reading the dinosaur book and had climbed down to find the farm book instead. That's when she tripped on her shoes and hit her head on the corner of the fire place. The second I saw her start to fall, I KNEW it was going to be bad. I jumped up and grabbed her and ran out the door yelling, "WE GOTTA GO! WE GOTTA GO!". It was all I could do to obey the traffic laws (I know, it's only a cut, and it wasn't like she was losing a lot of blood. But my little girl was hurt and I was stressing). I took this photo when we were stopped at a stop light. Had it not been for the old man in front of me, I would have ran the light, because NO ONE was at the intersection and NO ONE was coming. Agh!

After cleaning it up a bit

All wrapped up.
Zoe was such a trooper. We waited about 3.5 hours before the doctor was able to stitch her up, then another hour afterwards so the sedatives could wear off. Here's a video of her being so good.

Waiting...
... waiting...
... and more waiting.
I couldn't take any pictures of the doctor stiching Zoe up because it was making me sick.  I must have lost some color because the nurse made me sit down and gave me some juice and Lorna Doone's.  (Ever since staying in the hospital when Sydney was born, I have LOVED Lorna Doone's.  They are SO good!)
7 Stitches
Zoe scored two bears and a roll of stickers from the nurses.  What a spoiled little girl ;)
Sydney was completely entertained at Grandma's while Zoe and I were at the hospital.  I'm so grateful I didn't have to worry about Sydney during this whole thing.  Family is such a blessing!

Everyday fun...

We pretend to be a lot of things in our home...

Father and "daughter" camping trip

Back in May, Nick's brother Jason invited Nick and Sydney to his wards "Fathers and Sons" camping trip. Sydney was a little apprehensive about the whole thing at first (deep down she must have known she'd be the only girl :). But once she was finally on the road, she had a wonderful time. They went to the Little Sahara sand dunes in central Utah. This was Sydney's first time sleeping in a tent, and Nick said she did great. Zoe and I had a good time while they were gone, we spent the weekend ironing and watching chick flicks.

A new post... (Tori, are you happy now?)

Things are going well for Rak Attack family. I have a few events that I need to post, but blogging has been put at the bottom of the "To Do" list... ya know, right after stalking other peoples blogs and playing Farm Town on Facebook (I'm a nerd, I know).

Here's a quick update: Sydney has her first swimming lesson today (if it stops raining). I'm so excited for her to learn how to swim. A friend from high school will be teaching her. Sydney also has been going to speech therapy because of her stutter. She really has improved and has loved going to school. Right now she doesn't go to school because it's summer, but we are working on it at home everyday. The therapy will start up again in the fall. Zoe is starting to say a few words... eye, head, mama, dada, and Nick claims he's heard her say Sydney, but I've yet to hear this. She does however know a few more signs than words... baby, milk, mommy, daddy, eat, more, all done. She's also trying to jump, which is really cute. I'll try and video her sometime. This weekend Nick and I get to go to Park City and the kids get to stay with my mom and dad. They are really excited, and so are we :)

Okay, so that's not much of a post... but it's something new to read. Maybe I'll get some pictures up on Sunday... or sometime in the next year :)
