Well we are finally starting to feel a little normal again. This week we sent all of our updated paperwork off to Russia (hopefully for the last time!) and now we are waiting once again, this time it’s finally for a court date. It’s so nice to feel excited again. I’ve been nesting around the house all week, cleaning out closets and organizing cabinets, washing Max’s clothing and rearranging his room over and over again. I know well enough that I may never have another chance to organize my house again so I’m taking every opportunity to do it now. I’m even contemplating having a garage sale while we wait for dates.
Last week we went on a trip to Mexico with Steven’s sister and her family. Fin and her cousin had a wonderful time. We visited the Mayan Ruins and swam with dolphins.
It was a great last vacation to take as a family of three. Fin told us she liked it even better than Disney World which is saying a lot when it’s coming from a five-year-old. On the way home from the trip Fin discovered she has her first loose tooth! She was worried about it falling out until we told her that her adult tooth was ready to come in. She’s so excited about having an adult tooth! Yet another perfect example of why I love parenthood – there’s no better way to be reminded of the pure joy and importance of all the little things in life.
Fin is getting ready to start Kindergarten this month. Between adult teeth and Kindergarten I’m starting to realize our baby girl isn’t a baby anymore. Everyone always warns you that they grow up fast, and it’s a little sad when you start to understand how fast they really do. Next thing I know my baby girl will be driving. Don’t worry, I’ll give you all a heads up before she’s on the road.
