My Mom is Still here....Somewhere

My mom is here somewhere...she is either watching my little brother get bigger every day and decide he doesn't want to be a baby anymore.

She is holding down the fort while Daddy studies abroad amongst the many battle grounds and historical sites of Washington DC.

Bring on the Birthdays!!
She is busy building Arks for little babes 3rd birthday. "Happy Birthday Weston"

After many trails and errors -OK only 2 tries at making an Ark out of cake and a hour before the party mom had to turn to desperate measures, Costco, Michael's and a glue gun. Alas Babe's Ark cake.

Attempt 2-cake made it out of the pan but would not stand upright.

Attempt 1- Cake would not come out of the pan.

Then right after Weston party she got ready for Olivia's birthday party.
Liv's big 8th birthday was spent with her girlfriends where they made bracelets and picture frames. They played games and dance to ABBA-really whats a "Peace party" without ABBA.

You would think after all the parties were over that maybe we could find her, but nope. Once the parties were all cleaned up then we prepare for Grandma and Aunt Jojo to come visit from Washington.
While they were here we went to Antelope Island for the day. It was a fun adventure while there we saw Bison, and Lots of Spiders it was really gross. (the spider part)

We roped some cows and played on an old farm.

While here Grandma and Aunt Jojo got to meet Greyson for the first time.

They were also here for Olivia's Baptism. On the day of her baptism there was a double rainbow and on the way home from dinner we noticed that the Rainbow ended right over the temple. What a reminder that the temple is truly a real pot of goal. Mom and Dad told Olivia that it was her Heavenly Father telling her he was proud of her for getting baptized and that her next goal should be the temple. " I like to look for Rainbows whenever there is rain".... Liv thought it was pretty cool that she got a rainbow on her baptism day just like the song.

Princess Olivia

After 3 dunks she was finally baptized-Dad kept forgetting 1 word "and" trying to translate from Portuguese to English made things a bit difficult.

While Grandma and Aunt Jojo were here we also blessed Little Greyson Phillips Saunders. Boy was it a busy 4 days.

You would have thought mom could have taken a break then and updated her blog. Well not exactly.
SCHOOL

Then school started for Daddy, Olivia and Harrison.
Olivia started 3rd grade at Wasatch Elementary with Mrs. Montanez, which was kind of scary since most of her friends are in Mrs. Allred's class. She is doing awesome and received the "Star Reader" for her class for January. Olivia also started to wears glasses while in 3rd. (see later pictures).

Harrison started Kindergarten at Wasatch. He is in Miss Joy's Class.
He loves going to school and he was even the first 'Wildcat of the month" for the school year from his class.

Nothing slows down once school starts for mom. From car pooling, cleaning, grocery shopping, homework and taking care of 4 kids while daddy works from 7 am-til 8pm it makes it even harder for mom to find time to update her blog.

Halloween is a fun time at our house we like to go to the pumpkin patch and get pumpkins, but this year we didn't make it. We bought our pumpkins at Maceys. Weston carved a self portraits do you see the resemblance

Little Greyson was a Lion

Liv was Alison in Wonderland

Harrison was Dracula

Weston was a Giraffe
Then my mom got lost in the holidays.

Greyson's 1st Christmas.
I think he got a little spoiled.

Liv got pretty spoiled too, she got her first sewing machine and "Zoobiles" and "Squinkies".
Weston and Harrison both wanted Woody's and fought over who Santa would bring it to them. Needless to say they both got one.
(Harrison also got spoiled for Christmas, but in editing this post his picture got deleted, if you could put pictures where you wanted them then I could have fixed it.)

Then to start out the New Year....

Harrison had his 6 year old birthday. We started with Liv that the 6th birthday you could have a party with friends every other year, so this was Harrison's year for his 1st birthday party. Well he opted out. He wanted to go to the Dinosaur Museum in Lehi for his birthday instead. (For the 3rd year in a row.) So he got to pick someone to go with him and he picked his cousin Traceson.

We ate at In-N-out burger after YUM!

Sometimes mom feels like she has the whole world in her hands or at least on her shoulders, but really its just Olivia, Harrison, Weston and Greyson to keep track of.

Greyson digging for Dinosaur bones.
So as you can see my mom has been around just not in the blogging world. Hopefully we are now all caught up.
Now maybe it won't be such a challenge for my mom to return to the blog. Ü
(Thanks for the idea Celeste).

California 2010

We had a great vacation in June to Disneyland, Universal Studios, San Diego Zoo and Sea World. We had a blast and my kids enjoyed everything. They did awesome on the long car drive to and from we didn't even have to used the DVD player til the last 6 hours coming home.

We got the kids autograph books for the characters to sign when we met them and it made it a lot of fun. Jeff says he should have gotten a book for me cause I might have been a little more excited then the kids.

I have been waiting for 10 years to go to Disneyland and it finally happened and it was worth all the wait. It was great to see everything for the first through my kids eyes. My mom went with us which made it even more fun.

Harrison and Weston's favorite ride was the Jungle Cruise are we surprised...No anything with animals is right up their alley. Olivia's favorite ride was Splash Mountain even though it was late and we got DRENCHED. Weston also love the Tea Cups he laugh through the whole ride.
Jeff's favorite ride surprisingly was Indian Jones (he does not like rides). By the end of the first day Jeff was already talking about when we go back. He loved Fantasyland all the ride were just his size. I am sticking to my favorite of all time Space Mountain which my brave Olivia rode with me.
The kids had fun watching the parades and Fantasmic at night. Olivia and Harrison even danced in the "CELEBRATION" parade and did the conga line.
We had fun in the Bugs Life area in California Adventure, but we found that California Adventure is a little big for our young ones.

At the end of our second day we were traveling back to our hotel and we were Rear ended on the freeway and our van was totaled..(by Disney employee to say the least), not exactly the adventure we were thinking of for our family vacation. We spent half a day dealing with insurance and getting rentals to finish our vacation and to get us home.

Then the next day we went to Universal Studios..again we feel that Universal is made more the adults, not a lot for my kids to get involved in except we did enjoy Shrek 4D and it was fun to see Shrek, Fiona, Alex from Madagascar and my favorite I Love Lucy. When we were done there we traveled down to our favorite vacation spot San Diego. We went to the Zoo where Weston loved see his favorite thing Pandas and of course all of the animals. Everywhere we went my kids need a map, so they could make sure they didn't miss any and of course for when they got home they could play ZOO, Disneyland, & Sea World.

Sea World was cool, but not as cool as it used to be since the trainer was killed a few months back they have had to change a lot of things. The trainers are no longer in the water with whales. So that means no diving off the nose of the whale or them being pushed around the pool by the whale. It was cool, but not as cool as it used to be.

We enjoyed our vacation and the time were able to be together as a family. We were glad my mom came along not only to help us, but to enjoy vacation with us. Once we got home we really needed a vacation to recover, we felt like we were constantly moving from one place to another which we were. We decided next time we omit Universal and add in a day at the beach!!!

Hippity Hop Grad!!!

Harrison graduated from pre-school on May 13,2010. He is now ready to advance to Kindergarten. We already know he will be in Miss Joy's AM class next year and he is excited to go to school. He keeps asking me when he will go to kindergarten.

Harrison had an awesome time at the "HiPpTy HoP PrEsChOoL". He loved his teacher Mrs. Brooke.
They sang many songs they had learned throughout the year, such as the days of the week, ABC's forwards and backwards. They also recited the Plead of Alligiance and counted in english and spanish.
Harrison was quite the ladies man, which wasn't very hard since he was the only boy in his class. He loved going to school and I am sure he will like Kindergaten even more, where he can find some boys to talk about dinosaurs and animals with.
I can not believe he is going to Kindergaten next year. He is getting so big and is always wanting to learn.

GREYSON PHILLIPS

Well I was scheduled to be started on Thursday night/Friday morning at mid-night, but little did I know that the cramps I was having at 11 pm were really labor pains. When we got to the hospital they became more regular. They checked me into my room and started to get me settled at about 12:20 am. When the nurse finally checked me I was a 6, which was a complete surprise to me since I have never made it past a 2 on my own.

Well some little guy was in a real hurry to get here, I guess he heard I was kicking him out an decided he was going to beat me and everyone to it. Well I got my epidural which was a waste of money considering it never took and it was the most painful of any epidural I have ever had and the nurse was slower then molasses in giving it to me. Less 10 minutes after I got the epidural my water broke and he was coming regardless of whether my doctor was there or not. They pulled the doctor from the room next door to come and deliver him. My doctor walked in about 5 minutes after he was born. From this delivery compared to my others, I would not recommend going all natural...go for the drugs and make sure they work!Ready or not here he is GREYSON PHILLIPS SAUNDERS weighing in at 7lbs 13 oz, and 21 inches long.
Liv and boys were excited to meet their new brother. Harrison acted shy and nervous, he was very proud to get another brother. Liv I think could hold him all day if he didn't need to eat.

Weston still isn't sure what he thinks it is a little hard going from having mom's attention all the time to having to share me, but he still thinks we should keep him. His thing today was "He's Toot".
I don't think we will ever get the smile off Harrison's face....at least not until he starts getting into his things.
We are glad to have little Greyson, become part of our family. A new life in the family, makes you realize how precious they all are. We pondered this little guys name for along time, he was the hardest one for us to name. He is named after his dad and grandpa through the name Phillips, in giving him this name we wondered what time he spent with our loves ones on the other side especially his Grandpa Saunders and wonder what things he told him and taught him before he left Heaven to join us. Grandpa Saunders was very proud of his Initials and put them on anything that belong to him. Including his art company GPS art. We hope Greyson will be as proud of his name and initials as his Papa Saunders.
