Where are the walls?

Well since the beginning of our house project we were planning on only posting pictures of the before when we had the after. Kevin has decided we will forget too much of what they have done so he decided we should just post as we go. If you start to lose faith in the remodeling skills of Kevin, Dad and Bill, take a look back at how pretty the garage looks! Only a few more weeks and the house will be awesome!

Since we are moving around the layout inside to make the space make a little more sense, the walls had to come down! And come down they did, check out the fact that there are almost no interior walls left in our little house!

This is the view from the living room into the kitchen/ dining room. There used to be walls seperating all the rooms, but they tore them out the open the space up!

Here is Bill in the whole where the old gas furnace used to be. They ripped it out along with all the walls of the hallway. We are putting central heat and air in so we didn't need that big yucky furnace!

This is from the living room looking into the front bedroom. We are moving the closet (to where the hallway used to be) and putting french doors to the living room right here.

We know it looks crazy but they are making such progress! As of today the floor is completely level. Under the bathroom and one wall needed to be jacked up and shimmed and they got it done! Now on to the next project!

It's Raining, It's Pouring!

About two weeks ago we got a ton of rain here. Dami and I were both sick of it, though I know we needed it in the area. It just makes for long days of not much outside time. Grandma and Grandpa have been taking him for walks most afternoons with Nutmeg when they get home from work. He has really enjoyed them but with the rain they didn't always get to go. One day it was a little sprinkly so they got their rain gear on and went for it!

Thanks Uncle Sean and Aunt Sara for the cute rain gear from Vermont!

Pizza Maker!

Last week we had pizza for dinner and my Mom and Dad thought it was about time Dami had his first pizza making lesson! He is a natural!

Grandma

Kevin's Grandmother passed away this morning after receiving a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia last week. It has been a tough week. She was a woman of God that loved her family with her whole heart. We are so blessed to have had so much time with her and love that Dami got to spend time getting loved by his Great Grandma.

Here is a picture of them together when she first met him just a week or two after he was born in Lubbock. Look at that smile, he sure had her at hello!

We love you Grandma T.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

The Garage

The first project done (well not completely but I couldn't wait to post) on the house is the garage and it looks awesome! Here are some before pictures:

They started by taking the old garage doors off and saving the siding off of them to help patch the other areas on the garage. Next they took the siding off the side to fix the corner. The front left corner had some very old termite damage and needed to be completely replaced. Dad says we were lucky it didn't fall over!

Next they framed up two windows and a door.

Next the siding goes back up and they start sanding!

And the new garage door goes up!

The inside walls go up and a work bench is started!

All the electrical is ready but just needs to be hooked up when we have the main house done and the job is done! What a great first project! Kevin really feels like he has learned a ton and we are so blessed to have help from Dad, Mat and Uncle Bill!

When we paint the side door, we will put the hardware on and it will be officially finished. I'll post more pictures then, I just couldn't wait anymore! Don't you just love the green!

Frisco Roughriders

On Monday night Jared and Katie (and Logan) invited us to the Frisco Roughriders game. We had a great time and were so excited to see the Bares'!!! Dami had a great time at the game, though I think he would have liked to be out on the field!
