D3!

We had a wonderful day celebrating our boy turning 3! Kevin had his surgery shelf that day, so we opened Dami's gift right when he got up, ate breakfast and then Kevin headed to the library to study. Damian was so cute that morning we told him to go out to the living room to look for something new and he put his hands up to his eyes to make binoculars and looked and looked. Considering our house is only 1000 square feet it took him a while to find the huge blanket with a happy birthday sign on it! Kevin and I had worked on a play kitchen for a while and it was a hit! I am loving watching his imagination grow as he cooks us all sorts of things. He looked it over and then went and looked at the big kitchen saying "I have a kitchen just like yours!" Another favorite thing he said that morning was "I'm bigger now, I'm three" with a very serious tone.

Later that morning we had a few friends over to play. We had the backyard full of bubbles, balls, beanbags and snacks. What more could a bunch of 1-3 year olds ask for? The kids had lots of fun and I had a great time chatting with the moms. My mom came over to help get ready and I was so thankful!

Later that night grandparents and aunts and uncles were invited over for a pizza party! Pizza is one of Damian's favorite foods to eat and to make! We finished the evening off with a delicious terimasu (sp?) a la Uncle Johnny and a Lightening McQueen pinata a la Uncle Sean and Aunt Sara.

It was a fun filled blessed day and we had one happy boy on our hands!

We had his 3 year well check this week and he is 38.4 lbs and 40in. Though I think his boots added an extra half inch or so! He has never really cried for shots, but he was not a fan of this one.

Winter wonderland 2011

Well we are finally thawed out from our big snow storm and for Texas it really was big! Kevin is on a surgery rotation so he was still having to make the treck into work, but the kids and I didn't leave the house for 3 1/2 days! I was going a little stir crazy and was very excited to head the 1/2 mile down the road yesterday to the grocery store.

Here are some pictures from the fun in the snow!

Clare's Quilt!

So I am going to start blogging again (now hold me to that)!

I didn't get Damian's quilt done until he was 2 and a promised myself I wouldn't do that again and tonight I finished Clare's!

I was a little nervous about my choices in fabric, but I love the 2D Zoo print so I knew it would work out! Kevin admitted tonight that he had been a little skeptical too!
