Wondering if I'm ever going to blog again?

That's a good question. It seems Facebook has stolen all of my attention. So I thought I would at least post something small to say (although I seriously doubt anyone is still checking in on this blog!!) "I'm still contemplating continuing this blog".

So for now....you might could stop by every now and then just to see if there has been a new post. I'll make up my mind eventually. Feel free to leave a comment if you have an opinion one way or another!!!

Happy 1st Birthday, Drew!!

Oh my. How time flies. Drew is already one!! Unbelievable. We have been so blessed this past year with our little guy and he has brought so much fun to our family!! Madelyn loves having a little brother and so far she still thinks he is pretty neat. I'm expecting that to change any day now as he gets closer to walking. This morning it was so funny.....Madelyn was already up and ready for school and Drew was still sleeping. She kept asking if we could go in and wake him up to tell him happy birthday. Then she said, "I can't wait to see Drew!! Is he going to be walking and talking now? Is his hair going to be longer and is he going to be big like me?" She thought that since Drew was 1 now, he should be suddenly bigger when he woke up. I responded, "No, Drew is pretty much going to look like he did when he went to bed last night.....". And that was the end of that.

We had Drew's party here at our house on Sunday. He loved eating the cake. Mr. Cool just sat back in his highchair and took it all in. Literally! His little friend Gabriella was there to help him celebrate along with his cousins and grandparents. It was a fun party and I think Drew liked it for the most part. He wasn't too sure about his birthday hat but that's okay. His sister did the same thing when I tried to put one on her at her party. Mommy just was trying to have a cute picture with the cute little birthday hats!!!

Good Morning Birthday Boy!!

Yep, he's pretty much the same size as he was when he went to bed!! :-)

Party time!!

"I really get to stick my hands in this?!"

"Please don't put that hat on me Mommy!!"

Trick or Treat!!

Halloween was full of fun and RAIN this year! BOOOO!! I can't believe just how much rain we have had this year....I think we are something like 15 inches ABOVE average? Crazy! Madelyn's last soccer game of the season got rained out this past Saturday morning (Halloween). We were so disappointed about that because believe it or not, she had become slightly more aggressive during the soccer games over the past couple of weeks and we were so hoping that this Saturday would be the day when she maybe would score a goal (after being strategically placed in front of the goal by the coach I should say...). But anyways....guess we'll have to wait until next year for that.

We were also supposed to have our Fall Festival at church on Saturday afternoon but guess what......it was cancelled due to rain as well. I think Justin and I were really the ones truly disappointed about this because we thought Madelyn would be sad but really, all she really cared about was: "Is it finally time to go trick or treating?" and "When can I put my 50's Girl costume on?".  Yep, she was just after the candy....who cares about all that other stuff!! So we loaded up and headed to Mom's house which is where we have gone every Halloween since Madelyn has been around. We always see a lot of people we know in her neighborhood and Madelyn has fun handing out candy to the HUNDREDS of trick or treaters who come by. Kaylee was also at Mom's house which made it even more fun for Madelyn!

Drew was a monkey for Halloween which we thought suited him just fine. He was a typical 11 month old during all the trick or treating....really not that into it! He mainly just wanted to play in the giant bowl of candy that Mimi had out. All in all, we had a fun night. We had a few sprinkles when we first went outside but then the sky cleared up and we saw a beautiful rainbow which was the highlight of Madelyn's night (she loves rainbows).

Loved that little tail!

Visiting our friend Evan!

We met up with Mandy, Evan and Chloe to hit a few houses together....

Madelyn seems just a bit unsure about this haunted sidewalk leading up to a house!!

The perfect end to the day!! The rainbow!

Happy 8th Anniversary to us!!!

October 13, 2001
We're celebrating our anniversary today!! We're not going out to a nice restaurant or on a big trip....we're just at home taking care of the our kids and reminiscing about our big day when we started our lives together. Eight years ago our country had just suffered through the tragedies of September 11th. I, of course, was in the middle of planning all the last minute details of our wedding. After September 11th occurred, all of the tiny wedding details didn't seem as important anymore. The real things that mattered were family, friends and our faith in God. I am so happy to have married my very best friend and soul mate. I love you buddy!

Lil' Vols!

It's a Saturday in the Fall and you guessed it.....everyone around here is decked out in orange. We like to start them off early wearing the orange!!! It's probably humorous for those not from "these parts" but hey, we get a kick out of it! ha ha ha!!! Go Vols!!

A few Saturdays ago Justin went to the UT game and Sara and Miss Gabriella came over to visit and watch the game (well, we had the game "on" but I think we mostly talked the whole time and really didn't watch much at all!!). Ella and Drew are about 6 weeks apart in age and both had fun just crawling around and exploring. Madelyn loved having another little girl over!!

Ella is wondering what in the world Drew is "grunting" about!
Josh and his family came over a last weekend and we grilled out before the guys headed over to the UT game. Josh has 2 little guys now, Trence and Tripp. They are so cute!
Here is Drew doing what he loves best right now.....He LOVES to get into this one particular cabinet and pull all the water bottles out. I have no idea what he likes about it!! He's caught in the action right here!!
