In our education, we could assumed that geniuses are only 5%, 5% in sports, the hardworking studs makes the other 20%. These 30% of studs teachers need not worry about them, but what about the other 70%??
The one place whereby the school system has gone WRONG is by not involving real life or big scale situation of student to consider in each of their subjects. Our education system has miss out the fact that what makes studies interesting is the way it could be applicable in real life.
I find that,
Students that are in the 70% group (like me) would be able to understand the situation better, and knows how to apply the theories or make critical thinking base on their logic if they are put in a real life situation whereby problems comes in large scales.
In reality,
Chemical/Physic in sch usually rely mostly on the already given problems to apply the theory to and the experiments are made in a small scale whereby students already know or assume what the result would be.
They should conduct the experiments to be out of the syllabus instead. This way, students and lecturers would learn more on how to apply the theory to real life situation,
explore through a bigger/larger scale and
uses different medium experiment
and they could see and absorb the consequences and result from the experiment better.
Exp: theory of aviation, the shape of the wings of a plane to take flight. let them build one and test it out using wright brothers theory and so forth.
Maths:
haha.. i remember my teacher using a bottle that contain a number for paper shape stars to teach us statistic. i guess this would be the largest scale they could go. lol.
Teachers should encourage us students to imagine ourselves working in inventory/ business section that applies statistical calculation. Let them have fun in playing roles to find out how to get rich in investing using interest rates and so on.
This applies in arts too.
Instead of making kindergarten posters, teach them image editing software. There is no harm in teaching our latest technology tools given to us to enhance the creativity side of every individual. Not everyone can draw. but everyone can be creative in their own unique way. let them explore different medium. Create cool name card, banners, Halloween costumes, gravity, tattoo art, fashion, photography, ect. ART has SO MANY dimension. ART is without any boundaries. STOP saying an apple cant be blue in color.

In conclusion, studying/ gaining knowledge in school does not only need to be based on the syllabus. Teachers should THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX to encourage students to do the same too. This way, everyone, including me would be willing to pick up a book AND TAKE A LOOK INSIDE IT. Therefore, the phrase "studying is fun" could actually come true in school.
