My dad passed away Saturday. I'm still in shock and sorting through my feelings. We did go through his office this afternoon, to begin figuring things out, and I saw this framed right next to the door, as you look up from his desk....
I definately needed to read that. Write more soon.
My favorite thing about summers in AZ are the monsoon storms! It's such a change from the sweltering heat, and I especially love the smell of rain....Jake grabbed his umbrella and they had a grand 'ol time!
I do a new post! I'll be trying to update this more frequently from now on...so, a few weeks ago, Dave suprised me by arranging a weekend away kid free. It was so exciting! We flew to CA and I got to decide what we were doing. The first night I slept in until 10:30a (I guess I don't normally get enough sleep). We went to Hollywood and saw the musical "Wicked", went to Disneyland (of course-and even got first in line for Space Mt), hung out by the pool, went shopping and to the movies, and I think I'm the last person on earth to start reading "Twilight", it was great to have lots of time with just US. Thanks honey!
"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just like people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride." — Gordon B. Hinckley
