Baby loves bath time!

Warren LOVES taking a bath! This is part of his nightly bedtime ritual & it's his favorite part. He splashes & squeals until the water gets too cold. Even the dog runs for cover when Warren takes a bath! Here is a video that will surely embarrass him when he's a teenager! He is 8 weeks + 6 days old in this video.

DUE TO A COMPLETE PEDIPHILLIC PERVERT WE HAD TO REMOVE WARREN'S BATH VIDEO AND PASSWORD PROTECT THE BLOG.

Life with Warren

Whether you call him Warren, Bean, G or Three-Dub he is the best thing that has ever happened to this branch of the Wilson family! We are having the best and worse times of our lives at the same time. As the old rhyme goes "...when (s)he is good she very, very good. When (s)he is bad (s)he is horrid..." Warren has had a cold for the last few days and he's had one hell of a time eating and sleeping. Now mind you eating is only a problem in his mind he is topping the scales at 10.5 pounds. Mom and dad have also had one hell of a time too. Sara's had a whopping 10 hours of sleep since Sunday. And poor Jeff has to put up with a sick baby and an hysterical wife! Jeff and Warren are two peas in a pod. They make a GREAT father-son team. On Saturday I got out of the shower and this is what I found in the bedroom. I fell in love all over again!

Boo Hoo Hoo Waaaaahhhhh

I said I would not update until I gave birth, but family communication dictates differently. At my doctor's appointment today, guess what? NOTHING HAS CHANGED! All of the cramping and contracting from this past weekend was for nothing! I did not even get to see the doctor he was in Labor & Delivery with 3 mom's in active labor. So the nurse was not much help. So I'll go back next Tuesday (my original due date) for my next appointment where we'll talk about an induction. Cross you fingers and send me labor dust!

Here is a funny picture of Cuervo and me. He will not leave my side when I'm home and he insists on sitting on the baby or lying next to the baby.

Last update before birth!

Well here is what I hope to be the last picture I post before Warren is here. This is us at 38 weeks and 1 day. I am ready as hell to give birth! I have had contractions on and off for 2 weeks now. My stats are pretty much the same: 1.5cm, 90% effaced & he is at station 2 (pretty much ready to fall out). Please send us LABOR DUST! If he is not here by next week, we'll be scheduling an induction for the following week.
Hopefully the next update will be to announce his birth!
Love to all!

37 week update!

Baby Warren is still cooking! After some pretty harsh contractions the past few days he is staying put. At the doctor this morning not much changed, 1.5 cm, 80% and 1 station. He said it could be this weekend or it could be in 2 weeks. I am going to be doing a LOT of walking from now on! We are 100% prepared (physically) for Warren to make his earthly apperance. The nursery is finished, the feeding and diapering supplies are stocked, his clothes are washed and we are packed for the hospital.

I had a wonderful shower this weekend hosted by Jeff's mom & sisters. We received so many wonderful gifts and got to spend time with Jeff's extended family. Plus, there was cheesecake! One of the gifts we received was a bouncer from Aunt Chris & Cousin Kelly. Here is our "current baby" trying it out:

It's almost time...

At the doctor yesterday we got the GREAT news that Warren has flipped over and is no longer breech! I had terrible contractions and pain a few days last week, I guess that was him flipping over! As of last Thursday I was 0 cm, 0% & he was floating. Well yesterday (6 days later) I was 1.5 cm, 60% & 0 station! I guess all I needed was his big giant head to start the magic!

Here is the latest picture of me and the bump at 35 weeks & 4 days:

BABYMOON

Swimming in Lake Erie

University of Toledo
Some castle in Toronto
Sara in Niagara Falls
Jeff under the falls

Jeff & I celebrated our “Babymoon” by taking a Lake Erie tour.

  • We started our tour by driving to Toledo. Jeff got to see my Alma Matter, the University of Toledo. The good old Rockets! We took a quick campus tour, stopped my by sorority house and stopped by the bookstore for a few Toledo t-shirts. Then it was off to lunch at Jed’s! This is probably what I miss most about Toledo...Chicken Balls! Jed’s is a bar/restaurant which has the best boneless, skinless chicken “balls” served about 50 different ways with about 15 different sauces! I was in heaven! We took a quick drive through downtown t-town and then it was up I-75 to see Detroit.

  • We had to make a pit stop in Monroe, Michigan at the Jerky Outlet. Now Jeff was in heaven. He sampled a few, bought a bag and we were off again! A quick drive past downtown Detroit and we were crossing the Ambassador Bridge into Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

  • We got a kick out of the freeway sogns in French & English. After a llllloooooonnnggg drive across Ontario (which looks just like Ohio), we made it to Toronto. We could not believe how huge Toronto was. We found our hotel with not much to-do. It was an interesting hotel to say the least. Nestled between Chinatown and Little Italy, it was more like a hostel than a $100+ a night hotel. It served its purpose just fine though. We did not care for Toronto at all. The city was fine the people sucked. They were pretentious and too trendy. The Little Italy in Cleveland was better, but Chinatown was very cool. I think we may have seen Peking Cat in a few shop windows. Downtown is beautiful and clean, and has ever imaginable store/boutique/restaurant. We did have the BEST Thai food there at ‘Salad King & Linda’. The panang curry was to die for! We spent a few nights there, eating, shopping and sight seeing. Then it was off to Niagara Falls!

  • Niagara Falls is breathtaking...minus all of the tourist crap. That place is full of tourist traps, Asian people and sweaty kids. The falls themselves were spectacular. We took the “Under the Falls” adventure. We were soaking wet, but it was well worth the 1 hour 45 minute wait. After an eventful night which included a trip to the Niagara Falls New York Emergency Room, we slept (not so soundly) and were off for the good old USA the next morning. We needed to make a quick pit stop at the duty free store for some Gibson’s Canadian Whisky for Jeff’s dad. After stuffing our rental with six big bottles we were off over the bridge!

  • We took our time getting back by driving through western New York wine country. The scenery is beautiful! We stopped at the Merritt Vineyards for a case of Bella Rosa wine for my parents. Jeff got to do a quick wine sampling while we were there. Then it was into Pennsylvania and into good old Ohio.

  • We made it back to Ohio that evening just in time for another visit to the emergency room. This time the wait was about 4 hours! Holy Shit! After no one could tell what was going on, it ended up being an abscess that was really infected. BOO! But I got some Vicodin (YEA!) so sleeping was more manageable.

While we were in town my mom & sister threw Warren and I a baby shower. It was wonderful! My family and Ohio friends were there and Warren got hooked up! Jeff and the guys took the day off to go fishing (they only caught one!) but time away from the hens was good enough for them!

Daddy has a new job!

Jeff started as a PE & Weightlifting Teacher at a new charter school on Monday, August 18th!

Rockwell Charter High School is his new home!

RCHS is a free, public charter high school that will serve 650 students in grades 7th through 12th, opening its doors in August 2008. The school will provide a rigorous college-preparatory, liberal arts education with a smaller environment than most traditional public schools while still offering a well-rounded high school experience. Athletics, activity clubs, service organizations, and other activities will be part of the Rockwell experience.”

He is very excited for this new venture; we’ll keep everyone up to date with how it’s going!
Go Marshall's!

1 month left to go...

Well, it’s the home stretch, only about 1 month left to go!

We’re all done with the nursery, save for a few cleaning duties and repairing Great-great Grandpa Wilson’s rocking chair. We have almost everything we need and the boy is styling with his extensive wardrobe!

Right now Warren is still breech and on my next visit (9/3/08) we’ll find out what we do next. The doctor mentioned an ECV (external cephalic version) where they try and flip the baby manually. He wanted to schedule it for September 9th. They admit you to L&D (just to be safe) and do the procedure guided by ultrasound. There is some limited risk, nothing serious, but a 5% chance they will need to do an emergency c-section if the baby’s heart rate drops. It can be quite painful for me and has only about a 60% success rate. We’re still weighting our options, since my doctor will only deliver a breech baby via c-section.

He is about 5 1/2 pounds right now, and is on schedule to be about 7 1/2 by the time he's born. How they can tell that I have no clue! I've had a pretty great pregnancy. No swelling, no blood pressure issues, no diabetes, no bad pains...and the best part I've only gained 23 pounds! (I can't believe I used the word ONLY!)

I have a goal to get back in to my Seven for All Mankind jeans (size 6) by New Year's Day. We'll see! I figure I'll put it in writing out there is cyberspace to help hold me accountable!

Warren's Room!

This past weekend we were able to get a good head start on Warren's room before Jeff left on tour. Here are the first snap shots of the room. The furniture is dark espresso, just about black. The dresser will be used as a changing table! I've got some painting to do on a bookcase and a side table, yet. And we need to get Jeff's great-grandfather's rocking chair, cleaned and refurbished. Then it's just the foo-foo decorations left!

As an update: I hung an antique fly rod over the closet and another fishing rod over the entry door. The WARREN sign is complete and waiting for instillation over the crib when daddy gets home from NZ. And finally a corner bookshelf is in the far corner by the bathroom!

Let us know what you think!

You'll be sorry you asked...

For those of you who asked for belly pictures here you go! For those who are single or a man, look away. You will be creeped out I promise.

The one above is 20 weeks 5 days. Then all hell broke loose. Notice the claw marks where Warren is trying to claw is way out. OK, so they are just stretch marks (pregnancy badges, or so I'm told). But ewwww.....this is 22 weeks 5 days.

Warren Wade Wilson

This is the 19 w 5 d ultrasound of baby Warren. This is just a really short clip since the file was huge. His head is on the right, he's wiggling all over and his ribs are really easy to find. Don't you just love him!

Three-Dub

Yesterday we found out that we are expecting a little boy! It was so amazing. He was this little perfect person, in miniature. Although he looked a little skeleton like on the ultrasound, he was beautiful nevertheless! As soon as I figure out the software I will compress the video and scan the pictures of little Three-Dub.

Warren Wade Wilson...sounds wonderful! There are only 567 other people in the US named Warren Wilson. ( http://howmanyofme.com/ ). Warren means STRENGTH, Wade means TRAVELER.

What they don't tell you in the books...

Ok, well here are the most recent baby bump pictures. I'm 17 weeks and 6 days, about 4 1/2 months along. To me it would sound better to say almost half way there! I thought I'd take a quick minute to let every other woman thinking about having a baby or already on the way...

What they don't tell you in those damn "What to Expect..." books:

  1. You cannot poo. Literally for days you will not go. Oh, beleive me you will have to, it will hurt, but no. One the good side of constipation, you will look more pregnant that you would if you were regular. Bloating: its a blessing when it pushed you from chubby girl to "oh, look she's having a baby!".
  2. You will be completely irrational. You know in your mind that what you are saying/feeling/thinking/doing is totally off the wall, but you don't care. It gets worse as you get further along too. You get a big head, thinking '...I can do what I want, I'm pregnant. People will understand'. HA! My dear, beloved husband is at his wits end and we've still got months to go!
  3. You will not be by the book. The books/internet say you should be showing at 14 weeks, you won't and you will worry. They say you will feel the baby by about 16 weeks, you won't and you will worry. BUT, when the books say you will be stuffy, pukey, sore, fat and emotional, you bet you will.
  4. You will feel sick in the morning. And in the afternoon and in the evening and at night. I didn't puke much, just an overwhelming feeling of neausea all of the time. You know the feeling when you are about to get sick? Excess saliva, woozey stomach? Well imagine that all of the time. Puking would have been a relief. I prayed to puke. Good thing is, for me it went away at 14 weeks. Some other women, not so lucky.
  5. You will hate what you loved before. I could not stand the taste or smell of meat. It all smelled like bologna. The thought of putting it in my mouth would make me dry heave in the kitchen sink. The only thing that tasted good was anything sour or tart: green apples, green grapes, vinegar (yes, I actually drank it out of the bottom of the salad bowl) and oranges. I lived on grapes and cereal (cheerios only) for 2 months. All of that fiber and still no poo (see #1). I still cannot fathom BBQ or beef, chicken has to be done so well it is dry. Boo for protien.
  6. You will have cramps. From just about day one I had cramps that felt just like PMS. No one warns you. For the first 3 months you run to the bathroom to check for your period. I swear it was coming. But no Aunt Flo was MIA, thank God.
  7. You will have crazy dreams. I had vulgar dreams, sexual dreams, giving birth to animal dreams. I can remember each and every detail, like it really happened. Be prepared to freak out and worry about what these dreams mean.

I am going to update this as the baby-cooking goes on. I'm off to home for my lunch break to catch some zzzz's and make a kidney or two.

A loyal friend has passed on.

On April 15th, 2008; Bo "Bo-Bo" Wiegand passed on from complications of cancer. Bo lived with a zest for life although he suffered many physical problems throughout his life. He was adopted early in life, lived daily as a diabetic, lost an eye to glacoma in 2002, endured ACL surgery and finally battled cancer of the baldder. Nevertheless he ran to greet you each and everytime you came home, loved to go on walks and to eat any table scraps you had to offer. He can now eat all of the bologna he wants from Grandpa.

Bo is survived by his adoptive parents, Mike & Rose Wiegand of Vermilion; siblings: Sara (Jeff) Wilson of Salt Lake City, Jason (Britni) Wiegand of Chicago and Cara (Jason) Wiegand-Bard of Pittsburgh & Ollie of Vermilion; nephews: Henry, Brodie, Angus, Zeke, Moose & Cuervo. He was proceeded in death by Grandpa Vic and nephews: Toby & Mack.

In lieu of flowers or money, please take your dog for a long walk and let them sleep on your bed.

How could I forget Cuervo?!?!

This handsome little man is Cuervo Wilson. He is a miniature poodle & Chihuahua mix, a Poo-Chi! He is a whopping 4.4 pounds, but it is all attitude. Here are some little know facts about Cuervo:

  1. He is a math genius. He spends the better part of each day using mathematical equations to solve the world’s tribulations. He figured out how to combat global warming, only to find out there is no such thing. He now loathes Al Gore too.
  2. He is currently having a sympathetic pregnancy with me. He requires vitamins and plenty of extra nourishment. He says he will be a first-rate big brother, although he does not know what a ‘brother’ actually is, but he is up for the job nonetheless.
  3. He is totally fabulous. He has a wardrobe of over 25 shirts/sweatshirts/coats. He would have shoes or boots, but his feet are too minuscule. He loves Tiffany’s, Target & Chanel.
  4. He prefers the company of men. I'm not saying he is gay, but if the headband fits...
  5. He is an accomplished acrobat. He is able to jump 4 to 5 times his height from a standing position and twice that far with a running start.
  6. His main mode of transportation is his mom’s Chanel purse. The Coach one is OK, but the hue of the leather clashes with his blonde butt hairs.
  7. He is afraid of cougars, moist dog food and spelling.
  8. He enjoys prime numbers, Doritos and peeing in different localities.

First Birthday, June 2007!

The Wedding.

WHO: 75 of our closest family & friends

WHAT: A beautiful ceremony & dinner, dressed in chocolate & sage and decorated as the perfect "pear"

WHERE: Heritage Gardens

WHEN: January 12th, 2008 6:00 pm

WHY: To get hitched!!!!!!

The engagement.

Sara Wiegand was born on August 30th in Elyria, OH. In 2002 she moved all the way to Salt Lake City for her job, HR Manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Jeff Wilson was born on March 15 in Murray, UT. After a few years in Montana for college, he moved back to be Beehive state to begin his teaching & coaching career.

They were engaged on July 10 on beautiful Lake Erie. Jeff had it all planned out. He asked Sara's parents for permission, they said yes! He made and shipped the HUGE sign to Ohio (it was lost by Delta Airlines for a few hours!) and planned the whole thing. Jeff & Sara took a boat ride out on the lake late in the afternoon. Jeff kept asking what time it was and acting funny. Sara thought it was because her dad had given him strict instructions when to return the boat. After surprising Sara a few times with envelopes hidden throughout the boat, they drove just off shore from "their beach". Lo and behold, there were about 10 people holding a huge red sign that said "SARA WILL YOU MARRY ME?" She said yes!!
