One brave little girl...

This morning as many of you know we had to take Paige to Childrens Memorial Hospital for some testing, including her first ultrasound, which she thought was pretty cool, and sadly a Voiding cystourethrogram, which didn't go as well. Thankfully Daylan was able to take the day off and we were able to drop Taylor off at Karyn's so we were both there for Paige and at times she needed it. Let me just say that the staff at CMH are amazing. They even had a dvd player for her and she got to pick out whatever movie she wanted. Long story short, we were able to see in the screen that Paige does indeed have reflux, which apon reading when I got home is hereditary and with my kidney issues, it makes since now. The official term of this is Vesicoureteral Reflux (VUR), I will spare you the gross details on here, but you can find all the information on it at webmd. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/tc/vesicoureteral-reflux-vur-topic-overview On the way out of the hospital they once again made Paige happy by letting her choose out of a large wagon of stuffed toys...of all the down right awesome things to choose from Paige chose the green m&m girl.
After that ordeal was over, we took Taylor up to Northwestern University for and Childhood Development study for them, and yes those girls are amazing as well. Then after driving around for a while we finally found a DQ where Paige wanted to go for lunch and ice cream...YUM-O!
I must say that I am very proud of how well Paige did, and while things were shakey at moments, she was a real trooper. Now we'll just wait and see was Dr. Luu says on Tuesday when she gets back in the office and looks over all the pictures.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!

What could possibly be more patriotic than having a picnic and watching things blow up in the air? Nothing. Thursday afternoon we journied out to Navy Pier to watch the annual City of Chicago Independence Eve Celebration. We couldn't resist the call of the yummy buffalo chicken sandwich from Charles at the Pier and were able to talk Tom and Andrea into getting food from there as well, while Elijah was tempted he was never fully wooed and settled for his pb&j, which I might add looked VERY good...what can I say, I love the simple things in life! I must also mention that at the old age of 232 years, America is still looking pretty good...I need to find out what her beauty regimen is so I can try it out! :)
Taylor waiting for the festivities to begin.

A little Guitar Hero fun

Paige will do almost anything to be like her dad. The other day Daylan was playing Guitar Hero, I promise he really was and not just staring at a blank wall, the flash messes with the projector display. Anyways...Paige found her skillet and a string of beads and made her own guitar. She played 2 player for quite some time, until a hard song came on and she decided it was too hard for her, Daylan also failed out of the song! :)
