Emily and Hughbert and Wolves, Oh My!

Last Saturday Hugh and I decided to not be bums and actually go out and do something. Boy,what a good decision that was because if we hadn't we would have never met this incredible guy.

Journey! The wolf! Bahhhhh! We saw him a ways off and remarked on how big he was, then on how wolf-like he looked, then.... oooh ya know, that's probably a wolf. Hah! There was obviously only one course of action, pet the wolf asap. I forgot to ask for a picture of us and Journey, what with my (embarrassingly) abundant excitement. I got a couple super quick as we were leaving. Anyway, it was awesome. As I was awkwardly hugging and petting Journey his owner kept saying, "they don't let you do this at the zoo, now do they?" No, they sure don't Mr.! Thanks for being a champ and owning a wolf.  (This picture is way too bright, but at least you can see his pretty eyes).

For some reason we thought this was a funny pose...looking back though...
Good thing we took a couple somewhat normal ones too. (You should be
able to click on these to make them bigger).

Playing Catch-up: Part V = Caught up

As wonderful as Christmas vacation was, it really is great to be home. Right now we are busy with two choirs, CPA studying, church callings, etc, but we found a Saturday since being back to go whale watching. Hughbert got sick and ralphed off the side of the boat (don't worry no pictures of that), but overall it was a fun trip. Getting pictures of the sea life was difficult although we saw quite a lot. At one point we were following a pod of 6 gray whales. Very cool.

Before launch, feeling fine.

Post losing lunch

We also saw Lincoln and recommend it to all. Great film. Pearl is especially glad to be home, no more hiding from another cat and back to sneaking our food. I turn my back for a second and she is chowing on my Fruit Loops. Unbelievable this one!

Playing Catch-up: Part IV

I got my hair re-done over the break and therefore HAD to go take pictures. Just kidding. Hugh and I haven't had any good pictures taken since our wedding so I asked my sister-in-law Judy to take pictures, therefore I HAD to get my hair done. Now, I absolutely love my new cut, bangs and all, BUT the shorter my hair gets the curlier it gets. I know this. But every time I get my bangs cut short and my hair dries after the first post-cut shower I'm a little taken aback. Thank goodness for straighteners.

After Judy had taken all the pictures, Judy and I took my new camera for a spin. The sunset that evening was the best I've seen since living in Hawaii. Really incredible. Thanks Judy!!

Playing Catch-up: Part III

I should actually title this Animals/Animal Photo-bomb/ Pictures that no one actually cares to look at... too bad get over it. :) If you can't tell I had way too much fun taking pictures of the animals over Christmas, and they seemed to have too much fun sticking their faces in my camera. Enjoy.

She loves us. Promise.

How she really felt about the antlers.

Playing Catch-up: Part II

We spent Christmas and New Years with Hugh's side of the family this year. It was a blessed, fun-filled, delicious, insert every good adjective, vacation. One highlight was meeting our newest nephew William, who was born in September, but we didn't have an opportunity to go up and meet him before Christmas. He's such a little cutie, and Ella is a great big sister.

Another unexpected highlight was receiving an awesome camera from Brent and Carla, per the advice given from my stellar husband. :) Now I can still take loads of pictures of the cat... just MUCH better ones! Cleo was kind enough to go with me on an excursion to one of my favorite places The Huntington Gardens and give me a tutorial on the basic functions of my new gizmo. Isn't she really, really good looking? I think so.

This silly girl, is SUCH a happy, thoughtful big sister!

Playing Catch Up: Part I

The week before Christmas Hugh and I were invited to go the Poinsettia Bowl with our good friends Chuck and Ruth. Most of you will know that it was BYU vs. SDSU. After the first half our hope for a win was waning, but following an AWESOME half time firework show our boys kicked in into gear and whooped on   SDSU. We had such a good time, and the best seats in the house. Thanks Chuck and Ruth!!

Before the game... we were there quite early.

Halloween posts are still allowed right?

As we inch closer to Thanksgiving, I thought it would be nice to reflect on Halloween........better late than never hey? The weekend before Halloween I ran a 80's themed 5k in San Diego with some friends, which was loads of fun. Unfortunately I had a rehearsal for SDMC immediately following the race so I had no time to change before practice began. Needless to say I was the subject of lots of jokes.

There is a family operated dairy farm close to us and every year they put on a pumpkin patch. We deiced to check it out and were pleasantly surprised. Although, one of Hugh's coworkers was there with his family and asked, "Hugh, you don't have any kids so what's your excuse for being here?" Can't a couple without kids go to a pumpkin patch too!!? I mean come on. Mind, it WAS geared more toward the kids, but still.

Tuesday the 30th we had our ward trunk or treat. I wore my same get up from the 5k and was successful in getting Hugh to participate....even if only slightly :) Even Pearl got dressed up!

That about does it. I'll try and post some mp3's of one of our concerts next time. Ciao!
