Animal Kingdom
There are so many reasons why I love living where we do. One being all of the animals we have around. I am such an animal lover and I feel that they are all my own personal pets. Allow me to share them with you...

One morning this past winter we found this coyote in our yard. He stood there for like 15 mintues, not moving. He was still there when we left for work.

This hawk came one day and chowed down on a bird.

This Christmas I got a bird feeder and we hung it outside our dining room window. We really enjoy watching all the birds that come and eat. My favorite are the cardinals. We have about 4 or 5 that come and go.

We have two squirrels that climb around in our trees. I'm sure you're thinking, "Megan, squirrels are so ordinary. Why are you blogging about squirrels?" They are so much fun to watch and we feed them so they are my pets!

This crane stops by now and then but one day it landed in the yard with a fish in its mouth. It swallowed it whole and we could see the fish going down its throat.

And of course, it wouldn't be a lake house without the geese and ducks. We are not a fan of the geese. We like the mallard ducks because they don't poop in the yard. They just come to sunbathe. Aaron did some research on how to keep geese out of the yard and we ended up putting up a fence with stakes and fishing line. It works really well. Once in awhile we get one or two geese that wander into our yard but that's what the BB gun is for!

We feel so blessed to be living where we are. We have so many opportunities and experiences that we never had living in the apartments. I truly enjoy God's creation and I'm reminded of His awesome creativity everyday.

Bleach is my new best friend!
Yesterday I did something I told myself I would never do again. I screwed up with my laundry. I did a load of towels along with one of Aaron's golf towels...which was orange! Not really thinking about it, I put it all in and washed them. Of course...everything turned pinkish red. Don't worry, this story has a good ending! I filled the sink with water and bleach and soaked my towels and it all came out! I could not have been more excited. So thank you, bleach, for fixing my mistakes!

Job Update
I thought you all might like an update on my job situation. As most of you know, I am currently working as a diagnostician for the psychological services in the special education cooperative. I'm really enjoying my job; however, when I was hired they told me it would only be until the end of the year. I am in the process of applying for teaching jobs for next year. The reason my current job was only temporary is because they planned on hiring another psychologist but that doesn't seem to be working out for them. No one is even applying. Even an intern that considered coming has backed out because someone else offered her a better job. So all that to say...one of the psychologists told me that if I don't get a teaching job they will try to keep me on staff. That makes me not worry so much about getting a teaching job. Prayers are needed that everything would get worked out and I would end up where I'm supposed to be.
