*PROM*

My neighborhood hosted an adults only Prom last Friday. I've been quite excited about it, and probably went a little overboard on my dress, seeing as how most of the people that were there just wore a regular Sunday type dress.. but then again how often do you get the opportunity to dress up?!
For everyone who's been asking for pictures of what I wore,
here's the run down...
Head to...

...Toe :D

The Dress

My hot date ;)

Yeah, we're crazy ;)

The live band rocked!
They played a lot of great music including a couple numbers by two of my favorite musicians, Jack Johnson and the Beatles!

We went with my bff and Tom's bff (and their spouses of course). Trent and Cristi just bought a house in our neighborhood (yay! Happy dance!), so they were checking out all that they are now apart of :) And Kirty was just forcing Dan to dance with her, hehe. It was great having them there. It's always more fun to have friends around! Especially dancing! Girls are way more fun dancers! ;)

Girls Night In

It's been a couple weeks, but I just stole the pics from a friends computer ;).

We had the FUNNEST time a few weeks ago. It was the anniversary of one of our playgroup girls, and since, well.. she's currently separated, we decided she couldn't just sit home alone and lonely, so we all got together (thus explaining why we are all wearing black in pics below). Determined to have a great time, we ordered chinese, made Virgin Daquiri's and had those tasty brownies with the peanut butter cups in them.. yumm.., oh, and there was a fruit tray too, lol.
We started off the evening with Mama Mia, set on the 'sing-a-long' mode, and we all sang along :). After we had warmed up with that, we pulled out the Karaoke machine Kirty got for christmas from her sister, and rocked out! I was afraid no one would do it, and it would be lame,.. but everyone was brave (except one.. you know who you are!!) and sang at least one on their own.. and then we sung a ton as a group :)
Singing to karaoke got us thinking and we decided pull out RockBand! We all took turns on all the instruments and even created a band before the night was over. Keep an eye out for the Loft Poppies!!
It was a really fun night, everybody got a little crazy.. i even got talked into doing a couple of my old cheerleader moves, lol.. and decided all of my friends deserved to see my craziness.. its not like i have any shame left, right?

The Genius and The Idiot

So, the highlight of our Vday celebration was a concert Tom surprised me with tickets to. Peter Breinholt is such an amazing musician. For those of you who are not familiar with his work, he's kind of a local Utah artist, but a pretty big one. He's kinda folksy, and mellow.. and I adore him! Don't worry, I will include some of my favorites below.
Anyway, the concert was great! Ryan Shupe (another great local hero) and a couple other members of his Rubber Band were there and they did some really fun covers, like 'staying alive' and a big 80's medley. They also played some of my very favorite Peter B originals. Including a Beatles cover of 'Here, There and Everywhere' one of the sweetest songs. I loved the concert, it was so amazing, we got really great seats and I think Tom even enjoyed himself most of the time.
After the concert ended we were walking out, and as we passed a side door, low and behold, Peter himself walks out! I had to stop. I handed my phone to Tom and worked up my courage and went over to talk to this musical genius I adore. This was probably a mistake... I cannot fully describe the idiot I then proceeded to make of myself.. but I will try.
I walked up to him, I'm sure with a love sick puppy scary fan face on, and the first words to come out of my mouth (i cringe now remembering it) were 'I.. Love.. You..'
I then kind of mumbled something about how I don't really 'LOVE' him, but his music.. but kind of dwinded off at the end knowing every sound I'm making is nonsense. I then searched my brain for someway to express how much I love his sound and how his lyrics speak to me, and how often I listen to his songs.. I open my mouth, and I kid you not, I honestly said 'Your music is the soundtrack to my life!' Can I please die now.
At this point Ryan Shupe came over to tell him something and I had both of this great musicians that I adore right next to me and I commanded Tom to take our picture. (see below). There was then some mumbling about how I had friends in a band that opened for them once.. they actually remembered the band and asked about one of the members.. of course my mind totally blanks on their name, (which I do know.. it's Quinn).. I finally realize there is now a line of much cooler people who can probably control what comes out of their mouths, standing right behind me, so i muttered a couple more 'you guys rock' and 'thanks for your music' before Tom drug me away..
Although I was a complete idiot, I'm still glad I got the chance to meet them. They were SO nice, especially Peter B. Thank you all for listening.

Playgroup Fun

A couple weeks ago we went to the Discovery Gateway.
I forgot to pull out my camera until the end,
so I only got these two pics.
I think Ainsley and Brooklyn look adorable see-sawing away.

Our next week was bowling!
I thought it would be more for the older kids,
but Ainsley LOVED it. I didn't know they had little ramps.
Smarty Bowling Peoples.

The Fearsome Three-Some!

Sadie, Ainsley and Brooklyn.
They are blonde, beautiful, and spunky.
They were all born in the same summer,
and they are taking over the world... watch out boys ;)
Ainsley's 3 best girl friends.
The 2 munchkins from above and Hallee, their queen bee.
