Happy Valentine's Day!
With Ava in kindergarten, we had to step up our Valentine productions a bit. After discussing many different options for homemade cards, we settled on potato-printing. Once the unsightly sprouts had been safely and thoroughly removed from the potatoes (after intense protests from one child), the girls and I stamped hearts all over the place.
When the cards were dry, I gave Ava some suggestions for animals that could be formed with hearts. She listened politely to my ideas, then proceeded to come up with her own animals: 28 of them.
Being a novice school-parent, I hadn't realized what a production Valentine's Day is for school children. Look at this stash Ava came home with:
And while I thought we were being pretty awesome because we put a Dum-Dum into the envelope with Ava's cards, some kids went all out. This loot below came from one child!
Can I just say how happy I am that Ava looked at this card (in the center, below) and said in a disdainful voice, "Who is that?"
Nothing against the Beiber; I'm just not really ready for all that.
