March WIPGO report

Finished both of the numbers called for March. Just have 5 or 6 beads to put on the bell pull. Had the turkey down twice on my board because I thought it would take longer. Will need to find something to take its place for when it's called.

Spent last evening playing with the QR code to cross stitch for Marie's birthday party. Surprised the heck out of me when the printed copy worked! Hope the cross stitched piece works as well when I get it finished.

April's WIPGO numbers are 5, and 17. Magic potion and winter chalkboard. Both are new starts and not kitted up yet.  Working on the black will be a new experience for me.  Hope it will be doable!

Take care and be safe!

Happy 1st Birthday Macie

Wish I could have been there with you. From the pictures they sent me it looks like you had a lot of fun! This first picture is not from your party, but is one of my favorites. You do enjoy your food! I have a feeling those eyes are going to be your strong point as you get older.

This is your very first birthday cake that you fully enjoyed every bite of.

I presume this was after mommy had cleaned off all the cake that didn't make it to your tummy.
Love you and hope for many more birthdays to come!

With LOTS of Love
Great Grandma

February's report

Got both of my goals for the WIPGO projects finished for this month so went to work on another Christmas ornament. Had made a big mistake on the one I started in January so ended up doing a restart. Took 7 days to finish it, but now have 4 ready to fully finish.

Then I was able to work on my vintage Santa who is looking more like Father Christmas to me. I don’t remember taking a picture of it when I started it, but here it is when I put it away last night. Was so close to a finish, but maybe this month after my WIPGO projects are caught up for this month. Thinking he will make a nice stand up.

Breana, her friend,  Macie, and Colton were here for 1 night. Were on their way to the coast to pick up a truck she wanted to buy. Wish they could have spent more time, but I know we are very boring and don't do anything.

We had snow a couple of times this month.  Not much, just a dusting the first time and about 3 inches yesterday. Was mostly gone by mid afternoon.
The large vein on my right leg has been giving me fits. Hope my next procedure will fix it. Hurts worse now than it did before and really hurts to touch it. Most of the black and blue spots are mostly gone. The worse one on the inner thy is still there.

 Take care and be safe!

Leg Procedure & a strange dream

Well Steve, I followed thru with my promise to you. The procedure went pretty good, but I was under the impression only 1 tube was to be put up the vein. Ended up with 4. Wasn't a walk in the park, but I made it!

Many months ago I was sewing on something and the needle broke. Changed it but went to start sewing and the machine wouldn't run. Tried for several days, doing everything I could think of  with no luck. Recently put on my "to do" list to take it in or get a new cheap one. One night last week I had a dream. Normally I don't remember a dream, but woke up with this one on my mind. The message was, "go start your sewing machine". Well naturally I had to clean it off because stuff had been pulled high on it. Threaded it, grabbed a piece of material, just in case, pushed on the foot peddle and it took off like nothing was ever wrong with it. So strange, but am very very happy. Have been trying to straighten up the room so I can go in there and sew. Have an idea for a thing to hold my cross stitch bobbins for seperate projects.

My WIPGO projects for this month was to finish 1 of the months of celebrations and spend 10 days on the Santa stocking.  Got to mark them both off the WIPGO board.

Celebrations

And the Santa stocking after the 10 days. LOTS of white.

Am having an awful time inserting pictures!  Can't get them to go side by side.
I did go in today and worked on that idea I had to keep my project bobbins in. Wanted it to fit in a project bag. I think it will work just needs some tweaking for pocket size. Got a couple to small.

Enough for today! Take care and be safe

End of January 2023

I miss you terribly Steve! I only wish I could just hear your voice. Don't even have a recording of any kind.  I've had many down days this month. Lots of tears and a few smiles.

Been doing a LOT of x stitching.  Also spent a few days in the attic ending with several trips to the Salvation Army with a trunk full of mostly material and yarn. Also am going thru a handful of magazines every morning,  only keeping pages that I really want.

I finished  WIPGO #6 for Jan. This will be a stand up

And put 10 days on #10 to almost a finish.
After I  finished my goals I worked on Santa's on his way so I can hopefully get it completely finished before December.  Made a lot of progress with the 11 days I spent on it.
A LOT of snow
Also worked on another ornament for 2023.

Then I can't seem to resist starting new projects and this month has been no different.  Found this Santa in one of those magazines I was going thru. I want to make a stand up from him eventually.
Then I saw a dough bowl somewhere with all blue & white fillers. Had to order it and got 1 started right away.

Another magazine got a page tore out. This was hilarious,  because of last year's elk hunting trip we fought with an over abundance of flies! Could not keep them out of the trailer. This will be framed and hung in the trailer. Am going to try for a finish this evening.

WIPGO numbers for February are numbers 7 & 11 and these are mine.

#7 is a year of celebrations with a finish of 1 month. Here is my starting point.

#11 is a Santa stocking I started a couple of years ago. I'll probably never get the Mrs Clause done!
I think I'm all caught up for now!
Take Care and be safe!

Rest of the month with free days

Finished my second WIPCO (#6) for this month. Will eventually be made into a stand up.

Rest of the days this month will be my choice and most of them will be this one for Clara. Have it on my WIPCO board 3 times, but want to have it completed before Christmas this year, so will work on it as much as I can. I started it on Christmas Eve of 2020.

This is where it was when I pulled it out to start on it again. A LOT of stitching left to do! Do not enjoy stitching the snow!

Ordered some patterns yesterday for some winter small stitches. They are all done in shades of blue. Hope they will make for some quick stitching.

To many things I want to stitch and not enough time. Plus I have started to notice my shaking hands are starting to affect my threading a needle.

10 Days and Not Finished

When I put this on my WIPCO board and allowed 10 days, I thought I could finish it. WRONG! Probably needs about 5 more days.
Jan. 1, 2023

Jan. 10, 2023

Today I will get out my #6, which is ghost.
I can't post a picture of the pattern ((pdf). Want to make a stand up from it. Lots of white so thinking about a restart on some blue, if I can find some! Am getting low on scraps and going to need to break down and buy some I'm afraid. Will work on figuring something out today.

Take care and be safe!
