Before and after

Sometimes I get around to cleaning the craft area in the basement, but most of the time it is a complete hole and I hate it. Hate.
Well, tonight I went through and pretty much gutted the whole thing. Threw it alllll away! Aahh, so much better.
I think the nesting has kicked in, folks. Hallelujah.

Thanksgiving whirlwind trip

Highlights:
Leaving two days early to beat the storms, packing us all in under two hrs, creating a huge, crazy mess as I packed. I literally threw clean laundry as I searched for the clothes I needed.
Blowing the fuse in the car and having to fix it on the road, snow at soldier's summit, bad snowstorm in Monticello, then rain from Monticello to Cortez, CO. I followed a semi the entire way there while the rest of the car slept.
Arriving at the dive of a motel in Cortez at midnight. First hotel stay for emmie and nattie! Slept for 8 hrs, then got on the road again.
Freezing rain, figuring out that the entire state of NM is the armpit of America, more freezing rain, tour of Lubbock, sheridans frozen custard!!  Amazing.
Cancelled church, plastic sacks for snow boots, fun with cousins, Carissa's American girl dolls.
Sarah and Jamie surprising me by cleaning my entire house on Monday!!
Seeing tami's new house! McClellans, Selles, C. Jones, j. jones, and Jamie jones all together for turkey day, eating all of Carissa's pickle wraps.
Black Friday shopping till 2 am, laughing so hard with tam, stace, and keeks while shopping, despicable me for the first time, freezing cold temps.
40 hours in the car, 2000 miles on our new corolla, First time in TX for Cory, TX and NM for emmie and nattie, and CO, TX, and NM for lily, lots of fun and laughter.  So, so glad we got to go to TX. Not sure I can ever drive there again. ;)

Halloween 2013

Halloween 2013. Natalie went trick or treating to Tara's house during preschool.  Emily had a Halloween parade during school. And that night we went trick or treating in Grammie jojo's neighborhood. Emily was a witch, Natalie was wedding Cinderella, and Lillian was a ballerina. We had pleasant weather and the girls had a lovely time. Lillian quickly realized what it meant to walk up to a door with the big kids and was thrilled each time she came away with a piece of candy.

2013 letters to Santa

Emily's 2013 letter to Santa Claus.
It says:
Dear Santa,
I want a carriage. I want a beast doll. I want two leap pad (games). I want a new dress. I am going to be in ID for Christmas.
Emily Rachelle Jones

Natalie's 2013 letter to Santa Claus.
It says:
Dear Santa,
Aladdin doll, clothes for jasmine, I want a pink and blue (ballerina).
The first part was written by Emily and then Natalie copied her.
At the end she wrote "I am going to be in ID for Christmas"

Lily's bonks

Last week (Nov 2013) Lillian bonked hard twice in one week and she was so sad.
On Monday night she fell and hit the corner of her eye against the tile in our bathroom. She cut her eye open right where she will get crow's feet when she gets older. :)

We took her to see uncle Mike at his clinic because we thought she needed stitches. In the end Mike said it should heal up nicely and barely leave a scar. She is really lucky.
Then on Friday night she tripped again and pancaked onto the hardwood floor. She bonked her mouth and lip so hard! She gave herself a frenectomy and nearly put her tooth through her lip. Lily gave herself a giant fat lip and bled for a solid 5 minutes. Fortunately we knew she was okay and didn't have to take her to the doctor.  Poor little sis!

Lily's vocabulary at 19.5 months

I wanted to write down all the words lily can say right now.
Here goes:
All done
Please
Thank you
No no (as she is pointing her finger at me and saying "no, no!" Like I say to her when she is in trouble. Cute little weasel. Makes me laugh every time!)
Ball
Na-night
Dog
Woof woof
Nose
There go (for there you go)
Car
Shoes
Dada
Mama
Go
Bye
Eat
Help
Down
Hello
Hi
Baby
She nods her head for yes
Shhh....as in "be quiet" with her finger to her lips :)
Meow
Oh
Owie (as she points to her owies over and over and needs us to acknowledge them several times)
There it is
Don't know (with her shoulders shrugged, her hands held up, and a dumbfounded look on her face. Ha!)
Bum
Poop
Uh-oh
Backpack (pack pack ;))
Grandma
More
Good girl (she says this about herself all the time. If she does something she knows she is supposed to do, she looks at me, claps, and says "good girl!" Ha! It's so cute.)
Apple
Bite--as in, I want a bite of that food
Open
Mine

That's all I can think of at the moment. We love seeing her little personality in everything she does. She really is a funny girl. I had forgotten how much fun this stage can be. :)

Natalie's field trip to the fire station

Natalie went on a field trip to the fire station in October 2013. It was fun to tag along with her class.

I volunteered to strap on the suit. It was heavy, hot, and sweaty but fun to try it out. I can't believe they run into burning buildings wearing all that. I would sweat to death!
The mask was a tiny bit claustrophobic but I put it on to show the kids that I wasn't scary with it on. Then I told them not to hide from the firefighters that come into their house wearing masks. They learned to say "here I am!" At school if a firefighter comes into their house.

My Willy

Golfing in TX with auntie Tam.

So tired after our trip to TX.

Eating donuts on Natalie's field trip.

Mess maker make me a mess. (Smoothie)

Trying on the helmet at grammie's house.

Applesauce in her hair. Awesome.

Old Mrs. Witch

"Old mrs. Witch! Old Mrs. Witch! Tell me how you fly! Tell me how you fly! I jump on my broomstick way up high.
Old Mrs. Witch! Old Mrs. Witch! Tell me what you see! Tell me what you see! I see a jack o lantern looking at me.
Old Mrs. Witch! Old Mrs. Witch! Tell me what you'll do! Tell me what you'll do! I'll jump on my broomstick and I'll scare you! BOO!"
--Natalie's favorite witch poem from school

She made that witch in school and was so excited about it.
The "family of spiders" she drew on her witch's dress. :)
