I haven't been sleeping too well the past few nights. I usually read myself to sleep, but I started a new book that is actually keeping me awake! It's called Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer (a BYU grad--shout out for the cougs!). Has anyone read it that wants to discuss? I was up until after 4am last night, totally engrossed. Yes, it is a novel written for and about young adults, but I am totally sucked in to the romance of two seventeen year-olds. Can I use pregnancy as an excuse for being this emotionally involved? Speaking of pregnancy, I kept getting hunger pains and thinking of good things to eat: pizza, grilled cheese sandwich, cereal (darn it we're out)!...but I couldn't tear myself away from my reading to get a past-midnight snack! Sometimes it's such a bother when my pregnant self gets so hungry in the middle of the night that I can't sleep. Not to mention the baby doing cartwheels. OK, my work for the day is done and I'm heading to bed to begin another sleepless night...

First Day of School!
Today was London's first day at Little Hands, a parent co-op preschool. We go together once a week for two hours. I tried to take a picture of her and her friend, Luke, who is in her class, but they were both too excited to stand still! She had a great time, with a few moments of clinginess. Her favorite part was the music time--she just went to the middle of the circle and started dancing and doing all the motions to the songs! Maybe she's destined to be a performer.
London loved the ride-on toys. Notice her feet don't quite reach the ground. Guess who was pushing her around?
Snack time! (London loves to eat--she was the last one eating, finishing off other kids' remnants!)
Our friends, Ambyr and Luke
So many toys to choose from!
Yosemite
We spent last weekend in one of California's gems: Yosemite. The plan was to make the 4 1/2 hour drive Thursday night after work. It was a question mark all week whether or not Tim would be able to leave on time, or even go at all, because of work, but fortunately we made it and left about 6pm. We got some Jack in the Crack for dinner (London had her first kiddie meal) and we were on our merry way. Traffic on the 101 slowed us down a bit, but were still making good progress. We passed through Los Banos (literally, the bathroom of CA) and more farmland that smelled like a bathroom. In the backseat London kept saying "poo poo" and "pee pee." The girl's nose knows! We hit a fork in the road. The signs weren't clearly marked, so Tim asked someone at the Carl's Jr where we had our potty break which way to go. We got lied to. Unfortunately, we drove about 100 miles in the wrong direction before figuring that out! So our 4 1/2 hr. drive ended up being 7 1/2!
We rented a cabin with four other families and it was great. We split up the cooking and cleaning and took some great hikes together. We played games, looked at the stars, and even watched BYU lose to Tulsa. Everyone sang happy birthday to me and I got to blow out my 28 candles. London had a great time playing with the other kids. The only thing she didn't like was being stuck in the backpack. We had to sing girl's camp songs to keep her happy, which is hard to do if you're hiking uphill! It was a great trip and I can finally say I've been to Yosemite after living in CA for most of my life!

Rise and Shout
On Saturday we watched the BYU vs. UCLA game. The day opened with a rousing family chorus of the Cougar fight song (complete with ra ra ra's). London wore her BYU cheerleader outfit and I wish I had taken a picture, but we still have the rest of the season for that. Tim finally found the time to put the license plate on our car with our newly purchased BYU Alumni license plate holder, lest anyone question our loyalties. Anyway, London is following in her mommy's footsteps and is going to be a GREAT cheerleader! She was great at clapping and holding up her arms in fists and saying "Go Cougars!" but it really sounded more like "Go Cookies!" She's following in her dad's footsteps and has taken a liking to black licorice. She kept begging for it all through the game and throwing major tantrums if she didn't get it! Oh dear. Anyway, for those of you who saw the game, I hope you agree that although the Cougs lost we feel they put up a really decent fight. With so many poor calls even on play reviews, you wonder if the ref's were paid off! Tim says he's more confident about this year's team after this game than the AZ game despite the loss, just because we played so well and got plenty of yardage. We'll definitely whoop 'em next year in Provo.

Pictures from the Wedding
Tim's little sis Megan got married almost 2 weeks ago in Salt Lake. While we were there we celebrated our sixth anniversary (including our first night away from London)! It was wonderful to attend her sealing in the temple and to be with family! Tim was the emcee at the reception and was fabulously entertaining. In my opinion, he stole the show from the bride and groom! All of the sisters wore the same maternity dress even though only two of us are pregnant because it was such a hard color to find. We all wore some sassy high heels too, and I'm still recovering from the blisters! Following their honeymoon they had an open house in Danville. Tim's parents, sister, brother-in-law, and nephew all stayed with us for the weekend to be there. It was certainly a full apartment with six adults and two toddlers and one bathroom, but we had a great time! Here are some pictures--it was one of the most beautifully decorated weddings I've ever been to!
London is 18 months!
London is now 18 months, the official age to attend the nursery at church (which means mom and dad can enjoy 2 hours without trying to corral her)! We took these pictures on her first day of nursery doing some of her favorite things: twirling, hugging, smiling, eating, looking in mom's purse for goodies, playing with shoes, pushing her doll stroller, and running while saying "aaaaaaaaaaah!"
