He left in the morning on the 6th of October for his surgery and I came later to pick him up. The nurse kept telling she couldn't believe we had done this when I had a three week old baby while Steven was in the operating room. That wasn't encouraging, nor was the fact that the doctor came out and then began to tell me ALL of the things that were wrong with his shoulder and that HOPEFULLY he would be throwing hard again by summer. And it was a big read flag when they kept telling me not to let his pain get out of control once we got home because he might have to come back to the hospital to get it under control again. Ummm, these should have been signs but I ignored them, like the idiot I am or maybe the eternal optimist. When we actually got home, I had to refill this large "Criopack" every four hours with ice water and get him his pain medicine with it and feed Elsie every three hours in the middle of the night. On the second night he threw-up all night because of the pain medicine and again we got no sleep. Do I really need to go into detail about the first week were were home? No, I will spare you as it wasn't pretty around the Simons home with Steven and I getting no sleep.
Things slowly began to be normal and we celebrated Benjamin's birthday with a big bash . . .

We blessed Elsie Lou and had most of our family come out for the occasion!! My Grandma and Grandpa Suker came out. Elsie was named after my mother's father's mother who I knew as a little girl and it meant so much to me that they came!

Spent Thanksgiving in Utah for a week full of fun and a ton of shopping!
And Samantha's birthday this month with a small party for her and her friends. (I couldn't bring myself to do another huge party so she had a late night pajama party with little girls from our ward.)

And on top of the Christmas Season I have been making candy like a mad woman for our clients! (This has sucked up most of my time the past two weeks.)

I did manage to get my children's Christmas pictures taken and a card is on its way!!
