Time in China

I am so irritated with the economy and the President it's not even funny. I heard somewhere that the President wanted to tax us for the bags we use, for the wrappings we use at mcdonalds! Are you freaking KIDDING ME? How smart to you have to be so to see that maybe thats not going to work? Maybe, just maybe people are NOT going to have the money to pay for the tax...so they will stop going places like mcdonalds and buying the stuff. This economy is so far in debt its not funny!!! Oh, and giving to the rich and nothing to the poor?? Who's lame idea was that? Are you kidding me? Lets think about things before we do them? Give the 787 billion dollars that we have to the big companies an HOPE, just HOPe that the stupid CEO's are not going to give there employees a raise, and a bonus. Lets think about this....are you that stupid to do that? I guess I am just really frustrated! And...another thing, if the US goes to the healthcare that the PResident wants?? Thats going to go down the crap shoot...we are all screwed! Yup, america has become screwed! Thank heavens for the gospel! I am serious, if I didn't have the gospel in my life, I think I would drink myself into oblivion hoping that this would all go away! There is so much I want to help change, I want to knock some sense into people!!! I mean really how STUPID are you?? Do you really think about it before you plan and put it into play?

Wow, this blog doesn't really make sense, just kind of a venting blog. No harm intended to anyone! Just stupidity on some peoples part makes the economy go down the crap shoot...and who has to deal with it?? Us!

Frieda, Bort, and Gabe walk to the internet station...although frieda is a little frustrated because Bort really doesn't know where he is going...so she keeps asking him "Where are you going? Is this really the way?" Well...the finally find it after walking into a wrong building. After the talk on the internet for a while..they realize what time it is and decide that maybe they should probably leave and try to catch the train. So...they get to the train station and get on the train. Frieda looks around at how dirty the train is, and finds that she is not that excited for the next six hours. The train starts to leave and Gabe and Frieda are sitting by each other and Bort is sitting by some other chinese people, he makes friends fast and starts talking to them in mandarin while Frieda and Gabe fall asleep...well a few minutes after they fall asleep frieda hears..."Frieda, Frieda...my legs are very cold." She wakes up and turns her head and sees that Gabe is talking to her and he looks very cold too. She starts to laugh and realizes that she is also cold. So, she wakes up and talkes to Gabe a little more and he askes what time it is...she looks at her watch, suprised to find only an hour had gone by.
She looks around at the train and just watches people, she finds that chinese people are very dirty. What they don't need they throw on the floor of the train..she stands up and looks around only to see that happen in every car of the train....disqusting she thinks...how can you be soooo dirty? She tries to fall asleep again and wakes up about one hour later....she looks at her clock again astonished...that only one hour had passed. Frieda thinks to herself..."Wow, this is going to be a long six hours." They continue on their journey and come to a train stop...people get off and more people get on, the lady sitting across from frieda and Gabe also get off. Whohoo..."Hey Gabe, move over there and you won't be so cold." Gabe moves to the other side and a lady comes up to join them with her little boy. About two hours later, they leave and Gabe moves by Bort...and they try to fall asleep. A few minutes later a couple of people come sit by Frieda, well frieda wants to be left alone and so she doesn't talk to them...she then realizes that she is being mean and selfish and finally turn and smile at them. One person in particular come and sit by her and tries to talk to her in mandarin....but she does not understand and so she smiles at the man and nods her head. Frieda starts to eat crackers and looks over at the man and he is taking a picture of her...so frieda makes friends on the train from hunan-hubei. Even though she can not understand...action words speak alot.
They continue on their trip, what they thought would be a six hour trip turned out to be an 8.5 hour trip. They are all very grateful to get off the train when it stopped in hubei.

Okay, everyone knows I am here in china teaching english. Well, today I had a really funny experience with one of the kids. I taught her a couple of days ago because adrian couldn't...he had another class. Well, her name is lila. Today I was at the computer and she came around and came to talk to me. Well, she was trying to tell me a secret in chinese, I was trying to figure out what she was saying. Well, she wouldn't repeat it for the teachers that spoke chinese and so I was trying to figure it out and she was shushing me....don't tell don't tell she was saying. Haha...precious moments of kids. I have no idea what she said...so there is no chance that I would be telling anyone soon. It's the fact that I will keep the secret that she likes! Ahh, she is sooooo cute!! I love chinese students! To tickle me she will put her hand in her mouth and make a noise and then try and tickle me....haha I don't know what the hand in the mouth is for...but hey. It works.

Frieda thought to herself....she really was excited to travel!! Well the day approaches and they are finishing getting ready! Frieda is really nervous because she really wants to leave on time and she knows that Bort is always late!!! SO, she pushes and prods for them to leave! They finally leave and they catch a taxi to the train station, they are a little early but they soon find their car they are supposed to be in! Frieda didn't know what to expect so when she stepped into the train she was a little suprised! There are rows and rows of beds in the train...six in each sleeping quarter and not really that much privacy. Bort Frieda and Gabe wait patiently for there train to leave...Frieda looks around a bit, suprised at how different everything is. The train starts to move and frieda is up looking through the window. Amazed at how pretty china is...amazed at how big it is too! She didn't realize there was so much outside of the city.
Frieda takes out her camera and tries to capture the beauty but knows a camera just doesn't do justice! They make their way to there destination...eating and sleeping on the way. While Frieda and Gabe are amazed at the view Bort just lies in bed learning chinese and sleepin! Frieda looks around some more on the train and looks in the bathroom to see how that situation is...knowing that its going to be a chinese squatting toilet but hoping for an american toilet. To her dismay...she finds a chinese toilet!
They finally reach there destination at 5:00am...way to early they think. They are finally in Hubei...if only for a couple of hours. They purchase tickets for there second trip and have a couple hours to spare..so they decide they want to look around the city, maybe get some breakfast. SO, they go by the main road only to get stopped by a couple of guys asking if they want a ride on their bike. Bort starts to talk to them in mandarin and two other guys step up and try to convince Bort, Frieda and Gabe for a ride in their taxi. Bort finally settles on the bike people and ask the men to take them someplace to eat breakfast. The men reply that they know a great spot...little do Bort Frieda and Gabe know thats it's only a two minute walk from the train station. They get to the place to eat breakfast and give the men 8yuan for each bike..the men are nice enough to wait while they eat breakfast. They then take bort, frieda and gabe back to the train station demanding another 8 yuan...outrageous they complain...frieda finally decides that she feels bad and gives them 5 yuan.

Well, what an interesting week! I wish I had had the opportunity to write down everything that happened in the last week. But, I was busy and didn't have much time...hopefully I can remember what happened. So I will go back and try to retell the story. With names...Frieda, Bort and Gabe!

Frieda, Bort and Gabe really wanted to travel around china. They had been stuck at SOE for a while and really wanted to get out of Chengdu. Gabe wanted to head back to Hong Kong to see his friends but his mother told him he should take the opportunity to travel around china, because she wasn't sure when he would get the chance again. So, Gabe decided that maybe it would be a good Idea to do so. Frieda wanted to travel with her Friend Elaine..but knew that her friend would spend the day with her family and she wouldn't get the chance to travel! So, she also decided to go with Bort and Gabe.
Bort had made up the plans to travel to Hunan, Hubei and Chongqing...and ZhongJiaJie...everyone liked the idea! Bort when to the train station to buy tickets but couldn't get any...knowing why he decided to go earlier the next day. "Because it's the Chinese New Year it's hard to buy train tickets." He told Frieda and Gabe "but I will try my hardest!" He went again the next day and found train tickets for the 26th of January. They were all excited because they get to travel 15 hours on a train...with a bed. What an exciting adventure they tell each other.
As the day approaches they are all excited and don't want to be at School..."can't we go now," they think to their selves!!! Well frieda did...

So I thought I had escaped from the eyes of the mice that live in my apartment and around my apartment. Little did I know they were planning a suprise attack......they were planning on the best way to scare the beejeebies out of me! Little did I know a couple of months after I enter into china that I would be scared spitless by these monstourus little beasts?



The other day I wake up at six in the morning to a weird noise by my head.....I didn't know what it was at the time until I heard running paws across my floor and a noise under my bedroom door. That my dear friends was when I realized a mouse had been in my room, and by my head. I then quickly wake up and turn on the light in enough time to see another mouse run down my bed post and get lost going out...(I think the lights bugged his eyes or something) I am actually hoping that...he ran around...first by my clothes and then under my bed. From there I don't know where he went. Well, as many can imagine....I was a little scared, I didn't know where it went and I didn't want it to come sleep with me(as had a previous mouse did with adrian) so, I jumped out of bed...ran to the light switch outside my bedroom and woke up adrian. He asked what I needed and I told him that a mouse was in my room and that I needed help getting it out.



He went it there only to find......nothing. He then tells me that it won't bother me again and that I should fall asleep. So, I try...leaving my light on in hopes that the mice hadn't conspired against me again and wouldn't come back. So I try sleeping only to be jerked awake by a loud noise by my bedroom door. Not quite sure what it was, I tried to steady my heart rate....then tried to fall back asleep..then once again I heard a loud noise....so I roll over to see what the problem was and saw that the bottom of my door was moving....argh.... Are you joking me? Can't you just leave me in peace? I would appreciate it!!! So my heart once again races(I am not particularly a fan of loud noises) and I run to the door and stuff my towel at the bottom of the door in hopes the mouse can't get through.

What a rough night, I had four hours of good sleep and about two hours of rough sleep. When I woke up later I walked out of my room and gabriel asked me what happened last night...I said "Did you hear me knock on your door?" He said "Yes, and I wanted to check to see what was wrong but fell asleep." I said "Well it was just the mice that decided they wanted to get into my room...." he said "Yeah, I heard them scratching at my door to."

How the mouse got out of my room I don't know...it was an interesting night.. I still haven't been able to sleep with the light off. I keep thinking to myself, trust in the lord...put your fear in his hands. But, then I think that I have to do my part and is turning on the light part of it??

I love the Gospel and I am grateful I have all these experiences!!!

Haha, the other day I went and bought a book. A very big book, thinking that it would take me a while to read, give me something to do the next couple of months....I decided to start reading. Well, of course it had to be an interesting book and I had to stay up until 230am reading it because it is a good book. Argh, what is wrong with me? Haha, Iknow I will regret it in the morning, but sheesh...230?

Well, I was really tired in the morning, I had to teach a class and I kept yawing, poor student!! Haha, well Iwas teaching Gabriel. He is a pretty cool guy! I enjoy talking to him. His is from HK and speak cantonese! So, I get to practice my cantonese with him. He is very funny too! His laugh makes me laugh.

The next class was a class with Jason. He is from guong dong...he also speaks cantonse but rarely understands what I say. It's very funny. Today we were talking and I realized how much I will miss the people I am teaching and becoming their friends. They are good people and I truly enjoy it. Well most of the time I enjoy teaching english, I love china(well sometimes) I truly miss my home town and I can't wait to see america again, but china is a very special place for me...as well as HK. I truly miss it there....
