I begged Cory to let us keep these white posts from my birthday party last summer... I knew they would come in handy again (they're just a pain to store).  I made a paper chain in her party colors. 

Dear Zoey...

Will you wonder... someday... what you were like at 2 years old? 

You're a happy little girl... even other people tell me so... you get the most enjoyment out of all your toys... you like to read books... you sit on the couch and sing as your flipping through the pages of any book or magazine... you love to eat... you sneak food all day long, I've had to put a lock on the pantry to keep you out but you still manage to find snacks in the kitchen... you can't leave the house without a toy in your hand... usually it's a purse or a baby doll... by the end of the week, I've got a car full of toys in the back seat... you absolutely adore your big sister, Maggie... if your grumpy, she puts a smile on your face... you're a lucky little sis though cause she's so good to you and you reciprocate the love... you've amazed us at the way you can navigate my iPhone... should we be scared that since before 2 years old you know how to work that thing?  You entertain yourself in the car by searching for dogs out the window... first things first in the morning, you demand "yo yo" as soon as you wake up... it took us quite some time to figure out that "yo yo" means cereal... other than that, we've been satisfied with the progress of your speech... your ear tubes have expired and fallen out and unfortunately you do have a little fluid build up behind your ear drums... but I'm amazed at what you can hear... you gasp and point when you hear a far away airplane over head... And dang it... your eyes pop open when the floor board squeaks if I'm near your crib during nap time... you can put on your own shoes... you insist on wearing your jacket around the house... you love your stuffed monkey... in the early hours of the morning, I love the way you cover yourself up with your blanket to stay warm... you cry and cling to me whenever someone comes into our house, for you fear I'm leaving you... but you're as happy as a clam with anyone who will play with you, even the babysitter... You have a fiesty, fiery temper... but I suppose you'll need it to combat whatever challenges lay ahead in your future... heaven knows you need it now to hold your own against Grant... you're phasing out of your naps, but I'm not giving up!  You still need a little nap everyday and I need a break from your mischief of getting into EVERYTHING... you're my little raccoon!  You've learned to pick up the stool and take it to the place you'd like to reach... like climbing on top of your kitchen to turn on the light switch... You like to dance to music... and you love to watch Spongebob with Maggie and Grant... if we ask, "Zoey, where's my phone?" You say, "I dunno"... when Daddy puts you to bed, you say, "See you 'morrow"... you give the sweetest kisses... on both cheeks and then the lips... you love bathtime... you resist bedtime and insist that I lay with you on my bed for a few minutes until you eventually decide it's okay to go into your bed... you call Maggie, "Ma-e-yeah" and Grant, "Gant"... I know you're not a baby anymore, but I still call you my baby... you're lucky to be the third child, cause I've learned to let go, relax and enjoy you more... therefore, you probably get away with more than Maggie and Grant did... you have big blue eyes... a cute round nose... delicate little lips... and golden blonde hair... we think you are absolutely beautiful... our friend Cassaundra took this picture of you in December... I've been saving it to reveal it on this special occasion... You're TWO today and this is how you are!
